Detailed Reviews
I cannot say enough good things about this Residence. It use to be a monestary hundreds of years ago. It has been transformed into a beautiful bed and breakfast. Breathtaking views of Tuscany. This is family owned and operated. They are very sweet. We had laundry to do and they gave us a ride to the laundry mat. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. The breakfast and Italian coffee is delicious. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms spacious. I look forward to coming back and staying at this residence.

This was our first time staying at this property. It is a beautifully renovated convent with breathtaking views of Tuscany. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff, Alfeo in particular, was friendly, attentive and helpful, even arranging a visit and transportation to a local winery for a tasting. Castiglion is a beautiful walled city that is quiet and peaceful. It is perfectly located with easy access to Cortona and Arezzo. There are good restaurants and Le Santucce is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine watching the sunset over Tuscany. I would recommend this property without reservation.

+1
My parents wanted to celebrate their 50th anniversary with the whole family in Italy so finding a place to fit about 25 people was a challenge.
My brother found Residence Le Santucce, an old monastery that the owner purchased and renovated beautifully. It served our purpose perfectly and more.
The location was beautiful. We had great views on one side of the residence and on the other side is the village to the walled city where shops and restaurants are walking distance. It was the perfect location to experience life in a village and yet accessible to the major cities by train.
But what made it special were the owner and his family. Alfeo was incredible. Every night we would come home late from our day trip and even though the walk from the train station to the villa isn’t far, since we had very young kids, Alfeo was always there waiting to drive the kids to the house. Every night!
On our last day, we wanted to do something special for our parents so we asked Alfeo for his help. He organized the dinner at a nearby restaurant and afterward he invited us to his home for dessert. His wife and children were amazing. We experienced first hand what family life is like in Castiglion F. He and his family made the night so special that my father couldn’t stop thanking them. We all couldn’t stop thanking them.
The combination of the residence and the owner’s hospitality has made our stay in Italy a very memorable and heartfelt week that we will treasure for a long time. I for one am so thankful to have met Alfeo and his family. So thank you and hope to see you all again.

My husband and I had the good fortune to stay at Le Santucce earlier this month and were seriously blown away by the lovely architecture and decor. The residence is actually a huge, partly reconstructed 12th-century convent that suffered structural damage from a WWII bomb. The Tangenelli family lovingly restored it over time to authentic perfection. We had an upstairs apartment with a large living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a loft with a bed. Doors opened onto an outer terrace that was perfect for late afternoon aperitivo while admiring the gorgeous views of the Valdichiana valley below.
Luisella, the proprietor of the residence, was very charming and helpful. She shared her knowledge with us about the medieval village of Castiglion Fiorentino and surrounding countryside. She was very gracious and never intrusive.
We loved the medieval ambiance that was softened by the comfort of the bright and stylish decor. Luisella took us into one of the rooms and showed us against a wall the old original kneeling pads that the nuns used to kneel on in which only their heads were visible from down below during a service. Nooks and crannies greet you at every turn. We found it to be extremely charming.
The surrounding area is authentic Italian living, and we loved having dinner or coffee with the locals. This place is not touristy in the least. It is perfectly located to many of Tuscany's great towns such as Arezzo and Florence, and Chianti wine country. But it's easy to just want to stay and enjoy Le Santucce instead.
Would we return to Le Santucce? Absolutely!!

My wife and I stayed with Alfeo and Luisella in the fall of 2016. We were a little nervous about arriving by train in an out of the way village . The local taxi was out of service when we called but Alfeo was waiting for us at the train station. Throughout our visit to this lovely medieval town we were made to feel like welcome guests. Alfeo is an engineer who lovingly reconstructed the ruins of an old convent turning it into both his family's residence and a charming hotel. The rooms we stayed in were nicer (and larger) than any place I had ever lived in New York. Luisella's breakfasts were amazing. You could not have a better experience than staying with this lovely family. We will be back.

Located in the city center and run by a wonderful family. This property is truly a gem. They have separate apartment rooms as well as hotel type rooms. Parking on the back side to avoid the confusing city center driving with terrace that provides a breathtaking view that will bring tears to your eyes!

...new world B&B! The care and quality of the renovations completed by Alfeo and Miranda is seen everywhere. Amazing, comfy feel to a very large "home" that once was a convent. You feel right at home. My room was super clean and charming. The view from the windows were breath taking. The location of the B&B was perfect, just a short walk to the local cafes, Bars, restaurants. Amazing.

For this, my first visit to Residence Le Santucce, I came for a ten-day stay as part of a writing residency. It was an utterly wonderful experience. My suite (including its bed, its bath) were perfectly comfy; my small kitchen had everything needed, and the view from my windows of the valley below: priceless. Alfeo and Miranda, our hosts, were warm and inviting, providing a delicious daily breakfast. Residence Le Santucce was like a home away from home, but of course, adorned with the extras of a fantastic hill town in Tuscany, with great food, welcoming people, and a lot of history. When you are dining out in the town, try the Tagliatta di Manzo, a rare sliced beef dish, finished with green peppercorns and rosemary, or the pici, long, round noodles that are a local specialty, in any sauce on the menu! I look forward to visiting again.

Castiglion Fiorentino is an amazing little town in Tuscany, where you feel almost as if time stands still... Le Santucce was a charming residence run by a family. We simply loved our hostess Luisella, and her father, host Alfeo. Our room was a rustic little suite with a bed, tv and 2 small loft rooms, one of which had another double bed. (Slept 4). And a full kitchen and washroom. The view on the terrace outside our room was unbeatable: facing southwest, onto the valley, where we watched the sun set. Very quiet. Walk about the old walled city. I was told they don't turn on the heat (or the towel heater) until later in the fall. But our room temp was comfortable. Breakfast was served in a lovely breakfast room.

Good morning Dave, sorry for my late reply but it seems that there has been some problems on Tripdavisor email.
Yes, if you have a car you can easily park in the back entrance. In this case the address for the navigator is VIA TRIESTE 30, Castiglion Fiorentino.
