After reading about this hotel in a Herald Sun article earlier this year, I was intrigued & also keen to get away for the first time in a year. We stayed one night elsewhere & arrived a little early on a Thursday (they open at 4.00 pm on Thursdays). Quick & friendly admission. Our room (2) was quite large with the separate en suite - really eclectic room decoration but homely & a very comfortable king-size bed. Small shower cubicle but really good water pressure with plenty of hot water. The whole hotel was like being in a different era but in a good way - mismatched furniture, same with crockery & and the hotel decoration is really quirky. We loved it. Best of all were the staff - every single one made it fun to be there. Both Thursday & Friday evenings we enjoyed some local musicians during and after our meals. Good drinks, good barman & quirky & effusive wait staff. Food report on the alternative restaurant website - it is also very positive.

I took my sister to RSH for something special (cairns visitor) and although I have been here before the place delivered a super super experience - from the great bluesy music that we could enjoy or talk around, the best gin and tonic we have had ina pub for years and exceptional service - my sister felt really special and while we couldn’t stay overnight in their great rooms this visit she is ready to book in for her next trip!! Great job RSH :)

Stayed here overnight in late February to celebrate a friends 60th and what a fantastic couple of days. As others have said, this is a rather quirky, eclectic and wonderful place - part pub, part local, part antique shop. A sort of rambling house with so many different parts and rooms. We occupied three of the four rooms, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Great to sit out on the balcony pre-dinner with a spectacular pint of Guinness - easily the best Guinness I’ve had in my 15 years in Australia and as a Scotsman I’ve had a few over the years ! The staff were outstanding, from the moment we arrived until our departure. We stayed up until the wee small hours of Sunday morning, drinking and chatting with several of the staff. The barman was happy to insist that he would not shut up shop until we were finished. Well played sir. We were only there for a day or so but felt like we were leaving family or good friends ! Great range of local gin and wines. Dinner was superb - as good as we’ve had anywhere in recent years. Service was outstanding - despite being busy they are attentive and engaging throughout. Breakfast was fantastic - home made Bircher muesli, fresh fruit and croissants that were superb ! We’ve decided to make this an annual trip and I’m fairly certain we’ll also be back before then - thanks Ken, Jackie and staff ! Highly recommended.

The hotel has an amazing good Chef and owners. Went today for lunch with my husband Neville, plus my son and his girlfriend from Melbourne. We had booked, and got the perfect table in the quite 'Red Room'. Efficient and friendly greeting. Wine and drinks arrived shortly after ordering, and the main meal was served in a good timely manner. My steak was to die for! The hassleback potatoes and the fig, rocket and pistachio sides were so tasty and just YUM! We were time poor as my son has to get back to Melbourne to pick up their pet dog from the 'Doggie hotel'! So regretfully we missed dessert, but had great coffees. Thanks again team at Radio Springs. So good to see the place pumping and the outdoor area full of smiling faces! Hope that you finances keep improving after lockdown and that life and business become easier . Again THANK YOU all for a great lunch. Kind regards, Peter (and Neville), Daylesford.

We have recently lunched here and the food was amazing. The starters of beetroot hummus and calamari and mains of barramundi and the scallops ( a starter dish) were beautifully cooked and presented. The service was friendly and polite. Food arrived reasonably quickly in spite of being fully booked. The library was a fascinating room to dine in with loads of mainly cinema and literary books to examine if so wished. Highly recommended.
