This hotel has had some recent bad press whilst the new owners bed-in but the location suited our walking plans so we bit the bullet and booked up. We're glad we did because the hotel met our need for a bed in a lovely location and our bellies were well filled too. I had attended primary school there more than...

Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms nice, spacious and clean. Food could not be faulted at all, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. We booked through an Itison deal, after initial hiccup with booking being lost the staff found us lovely rooms and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Booked this hotel at the last minute. Our room was very comfortable. A spacious double room with a large ensuite. We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal. Friendly staff. We had to eat earlier than we wanted. There were empty tables therefore concluded it must have been due to number of staff. We had booked bed and...

We stayed here as part of a DBB deal which was excellent value for money! The location is beautiful! Such nice walks right at the bottom of the hotel great for a night away! The staff were lovely especially the room attendant she was so friendly and made us feel very welcome! The only reason I am not giving 5...

Stayed here on Thursday night on the ITISON deal. Total of £39 for us both dinner, bed, and breakfast. Best deal ever. The place was busy and unlike other reviews have said it was well enough staffed. We didn't arrive until 7pm due to attending a funeral but the welcome was fine. We were soon in the bar having a...

Arrived on Monday 27 with trepidation after reading recent reviews. Staff were very welcoming to us and our dog. The meals in the restaurant were tasty fresh and good value. Good choice of draft beers, whiskys and wines in the cosy bar. Room clean and had comfortable beds and flat screen TV . Lovely river and longer walks from the hotel...

Lovely hotel in quiet location. Room was nice and clean, bed could have been softer. Evening meal was excellent, chef to be commended. Staff are nice and friendly. Spent a lovely evening in the lounge just having a drink and relaxing. Would recommend.

We can only agree with previous reviewers who say that this is a poorly managed hotel. It was the worst welcome we have received. The room was pleasant, however, and the bar had a warm atmosphere in the evenings. The staff work very hard and are friendly, doing their best in what appears to be difficult conditions. The lack of...
