Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are looking for a quiet place to rest, Feversham Arms Inn fits the bill. Set in a valley in the Yorkshire moors, the Inn is off the beaten path with more animals than people around, it seemed. There was no city or traffic noise, only peace and quiet. Except at dinner time. Then the place filled up, and I soon learned why. The food was excellent, the service was quick and friendly. Our hostess, Rachel, was outgoing, very personable, fun to talk with, energetic, always had a smile on her face, and constantly in motion. In addition to the dining, the Inn has 3 en suite rooms upstairs. We stayed two nights, and I wished we had made it three. The room was comfortable, though not large, the bath modern with plenty of hot water, and the breakfasts were outstanding. The valley setting is beautiful and restful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We never give 5 star reviews, but we were absolutely blown away by this place. We were given a lovely warm welcome by the landlady, who accepted our slightly stroppy pooch and gave us advice on which dogs to avoid! The food was incredible, better than we've had anywhere else. Dad had pork belly with chips and veg, and I had game pie with chips and veg. Everything was home made and locally sourced, and it was perfect. We're already planning to go back tomorrow! They even cooked some chicken for our dog and brought it in one of their dog bowls.

Thanks to Bing maps we found this lovely pub and a warm welcome from our host - it’s a bit out of the way but well worth the trouble, but a trip across the wonderful North Yorkshire moors makes it even more worthwhile. My wife and I went with my brother-in-law who is a huge meat eater and he was absolutely not disappointed! The mixed grill he chose was enormous; the largest I’ve seen in my puff, and heaven knows how he consumed it, other than a small square of gammon and a tomato which somehow remained on the plate - I would’ve taken a picture but the lens wasn’t wide enough. The good news for non-meat eaters, of which I am, but not my wife, is there are three vegetarian options and three vegan options, and it’s not just an unimaginative veggie burger with chips. We had travelled from south Essex via Redcar so it’s unlikely we will return, which is a shame, but it’s notable The Feversham Arms have more vegetarian and vegan options than many pubs in our large conurbation area of more than two. Oh yes, a mention for the humble toilets, spotlessly clean! If you want great traditional freshly cooked pub food I would add that there could be a wait (ours was actually quite quick), but if you want fast flipped food in cardboard boxes and paper cups then maybe the Feversham Arms built in 1836 isn’t for you after all.

Excellent place to eat. Nice to find a place that caters for carnivores. Good range of food for everyone else as well. We'll go back again. Nice staff. Rachel the landlady is pleasant and always tries to accommodate everyone's taste.

What a lovely pub and in wonderful scenery on the North Yorks moors, the food is great and I had the best pint of Cafferys ever. Mine host Rachel was mega friendly and very welcoming, the inn has 3 rooms for B&B and a cottage too for rent. We will certainly be going back and hope to stay in the near future.

We found a hidden gem in a fabulous location ! My wife and I spent a week in the area and spent a few nights in this pub with our pet Weimaraner who is partial to a visit to a local pub. Rachel, her husband, Abi the poodle and all of the staff made the three of us very welcome. The beer was great and the food was marvellous, we will definitely be back.

Our first visit to Yorkshire and staying in Church Houses in Farndale. Absolutely delighted to have a cottage opposite the Feversham Arms and not disappointed. Rachel is the perfect host and we were not disappointed with the food. We both enjoyed steak pie which tasted homemade, delicious and good value. A welcoming and homely pub, which is becoming a rarity these days. Thank you

Lovely friendly country pub. We had 4 meals there this week, all were great quality and value for money. Dog friendly too and a beer garden with an amazing view. The landlady has so much energy and is great to chat to :) We will be back! Stuart Andrew and Boggle

Awful food! Lovely quaint pub with a good varied menu & most dishes reasonably priced. However, quality of food was very poor. Theakstons Best Bitter wasn't too good either. Steak & ale pie was full of meat but no gravy - separate gravy boat. Chips were all the dry scraggy bits from the bottom of the freezer bag. "Freshly battered" cod was a frozen piece of white fish with no taste, soggy batter & an unpleasant amount of oil. We appreciate they were busy but the day after my fiance has had the trots. The only thing different he ate to me in the preceding 48 hours was the fish & mushy peas Such a shame as this place came higly recommendedby friends but we willnot be visiting again..
