Lovely, peaceful Hotel. The welcome, hospitality and general ombience of the stay was lovely. We had our 2 young children, and they thoroughly enjoyed it! Food was delicious and Breakfast was perfect. We stayed in the family suite; the role top bath and under floor heating was amazing! Thank you Richard for a fabulous stay!

After our first visit and saying we would not go back, we have tried the Armadale a couple times on the lunchtime special menu 2 mains for £10. Portions are smaller than the Sunday lunch menu but the price reflects this. The food is home cooked and very passable, being cooked to order. This place is a little odd but... More

I was suprised at the low number of customers here on a sunday evening, the experience i had was, friendly staff, great food at the right price, well chosen interior and just an all round pleasent place. I've seen far worse places packed out on a sunday evening so couldnt understand the low number of customers. The overall experience exceeded... More

Called in for a lunch time meal only. The place does not know what it is, a pub, restaurant, hotel, wine bar or coffee shop. The interior could do with some improvement and some heat in December. Staff very friendly and the meal we had was very good fresh home cooked and certainly not microwave frozen. Price was a bit... More

This was our third visit to The Armadale. The first was to celebrate a friends birthday, the second for a wine tasting and yesterday was to meet up with friends to celebrate my birthday. The food is great (especially the Steak and Ale Pie!), the wine choice is vast and the service/hospitality was exceptional. We enjoyed our visit so much... More

We took a cab from Ulverston to visit this restaurant on a saturday night. Waste of money. The food was incredibly boring, my risotto tasted of salt and gravy. Husband's seafood nothing special could have been from a packet. We hoped for some interesting wine as they boast that the owner is a wine merchant but no such luck. The... More

The rooms of the hotel have views over rolling countryside with grazing sheep and horses. The rooms are very clean, very comfy and very cosy. The restaraunt is top class offering a good variety to suite all tastes. The quality of food was five star (second to none) and all of our party of four loved it. The staff are... More
