I couldn't believe how close Byron Bay was to the farm stay cottages on Bangalow Rd. After having an idyllic stay right on the esplanade in Bryon last year for Splendour, we decided to go again, but this time for the 30th Anniversary of the Blues Fest. The cottages are quite easy to find and the owners were very responsive to email. They had sent us the directions as well. We stayed in one of the cottages, which had a double and a single bed in the one room. The view off the deck was inspiring, especially since we could see the full moon rise. A shuttle bus collected us one evening and dropped us home from the festival. The weather was a little rainy which only added to the magic. The kitchen could have been a little better stocked with additional wine glasses and a serving platter or two. Friendly hosts close by if you needed anything.

Angela and Ivan are wonderful hosts and made us very welcome. We felt we got to share their farm with them, collecting the chicken eggs, watching the cows and the wonderful sunset from the paddock at Hayters Hill. We definitely recommend staying here for some R & R, it is somewhere we hope to return to in the future.

Arrival
When we arrived at the property we were directed to a cottage via a note. Unfortunately, the cottage looked nothing like the images in the listing. When we complained we were told we were given an upgrade and the host was shocked we didn’t appreciate it. The host took us to a second cottage more similar to the images, however one of the beds was unmade. We agreed to stay only the one night on the basis of a refund for the second night. The host agreed however reneged the next morning.

Internet
In the Airbnb listing the host states that the internet has “Continuous access”. This was not correct. The host advised us verbally, (supported in their guest book) that“….(the internet) connection can be poor and unreliable! Sorry – but if it is not working when you try, there’s not much that can be done to fix it, except give it time!”.

Hot water
First shower ran warm for less than five minutes. The host said to wait 30 minutes for the next shower. If 3 guests are staying it means the host expects guests to have 2 minute showers or to wait twice for 30 minutes between each shower. The listing clearly states “Hot water” not “Please limit your showers to 2 minutes as the hot water runs out.”

Cleanliness
The place was. Little dusty and the single bed was unmade. The water in the bathroom sink ran brown. The surrounding property and road were covered in excrement.

Summary
To sum up this was very poor experience, The listing was misleading. The host did not provide the promised refund.

Great location between Byron and Bangalow. Cottage was v clean with modern bath facilities. Hot water works well here! Didn't get a chance to roam the farm as we were going to the beaches a lot but the view was great. Tranquil little spot to rest and recharge.

Highly recommend the byron bay farm stay it is defianaltly a little slice of byron bay paradise! I don't want to sound like an ad but it was perfect little haven outside of the hustle and bustle of town! It's a ten minute drive but it really feels like somwhere totally diffrent. The property is georgeous and pristinely kept. You really felt like u were in your own little world, very seleuded and private. I ate dinner by the picnic table by the fresh water lake often and enjoyed seeing the horses graze in the pasture. The cottage itself was immaculately kept and spacious. The hosts were helpful and nice when I saw them. My friend and I stayed 3 nights but wish it was longer we will be back next year!

I recently stayed in a two bedroom cottage with my 3 year old daughter and friend. It was perfect! My daughter spent many hours feeding the chickens and horses and was thrilled to groom the pony on our last day. She was super excited to hunt for and collect eggs. The cottages were just perfect, with large balconies with breathtaking views. We walked down to the lake to paddle our feet a couple of times and played many games of hide and seek around the cottages. A picnic at sunset point with panoramic views was a highlight on the last day. Thank you for your hospitality. We'll definitely be back if we visit Byron again.

What an amazing place to stay and so close to Bryons town centre! Ivan made our stay very pleasant and we appreciated him taking time out if his day to let us groom and play with the beautiful horses. Idyllic but with plenty to do - kayaking in the lake, collecting eggs from the chooks and walks through the rainforest! Perfect! We will definitely be back! :)

We had an absolute ball staying here. We went for a winter break, had horrible weather but the kids (2, 3 &12 year old) absolutely loved it. It is really close to Byron but just far enough out of town to get the full farm experience. The kids loved the lake, the boat, the chickens, the very friendly cows and the horses. We went bushwalking and my son caught a winter bass in the lake. We collected fresh eggs everyday. And at night we saw native owls and a great view of the milky way! The cabin was very comfortable, big enough for two adults and three kids. The air-con, comfy beds and big veranda with outdoor table and chairs overlooking the lake was great. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. All the cabins were full when we stayed there but it felt like we had the whole farm to ourselves. A great place to stay. I would highly recommend it to any family!!

As a former resident of Byron Bay I would have to say that the Byron Bay Farmstay provides everything that Byron Bay has to offer. Firstly the cottages are very comfortable, providing everything that one needs. Surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills that Byron Bay is well known for. You are immediately surrounded by farm and native habitat, as well as a real living dam. The views are breath taking. All of this and only a short drive to any of the beaches, particularly Tallows Beach and Broken Head. Also only short drive to the popular Suffolk Park Pub (family friendly), shops and town. The Farmstay is incredibly peaceful, private and relaxed. Our four year old loved exploring the farm, including fetching the freshly laid chook eggs and herbs for breakfast. You actually don't have to leave as there is so much on offer at the farm, kyaking, fishing, mountain bike riding, walks, or just sitting and taking in the serenity. Perfect for couples or families. We will be returning as it was so nice to get ou tof town and enjoy all of Byron!. The managers Ange and Ivan are very friendly and cannot do enough for you to make sure that your stay is what you want it to be.

Hello there. Being in a rural area, we don't offer internet connection in the cottages at this point. However, guests are welcome to access the internet in the office to check emails etc. We will hopefully be able to offer Wifi in the cottages over coming months now that NBN is in place (as of one month ago). Cheers! Angela
