This pub is a little gem. Tucked out of the way on the Shellness Road, it has the feel of a country pub. There are good views from the conservatory over the marshes. The landlord and landlady are very friendly, and knowledgeable. The aviation history associated with Muswell Manor is really fascinating, and they have a little exhibition, with lots...

Had a very enjoyable Sat night stay at Muswell Manor B and B. Very comfortable and clean room with everything needed. My only comment would be the shower was not very powerful and whilst ok for myself and husband had a very high step up into. Had a very enjoyable lunch made by Sharon in the bar on Sat after...

We spent two evenings at this friendly B & B last weekend. Our son and family were camping a mile or so away but we preferred a little bit of comfort. This we definitely found at Muswell Manor. The room we stayed in was comfortable and decorated in a style that suited this Grade 11 listed building. We had a...

We were staying up the road in a hotel for the night and had a bad experience for breakfast, so took a drive down the coast to find somewhere to eat... Well, we stumbled across this wonderful b&b and when we explained our disastrous morning, Terry kindly offered to cook us a nice breakfast. I have to say it was...

Situated on The Isle of Sheppey this Grade II listed manor house gives a quiet get-away. It is close to an SSI that has many species for the bird watcher. The hosts are very thoughtful and the food is good. There is a great bar with a good selection and a friendly atmosphere. We stayed b & b for three...

I spent one night B&B here in beautiful surroundings by the sea within walking distance of Leysdown. The bedroom was pretty, well equipped and comfortable; lovely hot shower and a very tasty breakfast. Sharon and Terry are very friendly and welcoming and chatting to other guests in the bar in the evening was good fun. The holiday park is next...

We spent 4 nights here two weeks ago. It was a fascinating stay with all the early aviation history around the place. We shared our comfortable room with the ghosts of C.S. Rolls, T.C. Moor Brabazon, the Short Brothers and even the Wright brothers who stayed ther in 1909. Thed owners were most friendly and helpful and we can thoroughly...

We have to endorse what the others have said - it is clean, comfortable, and Terry and Sharon could not have done more to make us feel at home. There were nice little touches like fresh fruit by the bedside, and mint chocs with the tea things. But the big feature, which the others have not mentioned, is all the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Muswell Manor is a Grade II listed Manor House dating back to 1540. In 1909 (then known as Mussel Manor) the Short Brothers constructed their first aircraft here, namely the Wright "Flyers." The Manor was being used as the headquarters of the Aero Club for the United Kingdom. In our lovely oak beamed bar you will also find a friendly atmosphere for a quiet drink and some pub food on the weekends; dogs (and their owners) are welcome to enjoy our garden area overlooking the fields. In the winter months come and enjoy our log fire in the bar and participate in any pub games we are throwing at the time. The Holiday Park consists of 47 plots (a mix of caravans and chalets) all situated with views of either the big playing field or the surrounding fields, each with a garden area. There are 2 play parks - one for the little kids and one for the bigger ones as well as a set of swings. We are a quiet family oriented holiday park that likes to host mass BBQs when the weather allows and enjoy the peace and quiet holidaying the rural Kent coast has to offer. You can also stay in our bed and breakfast rooms within the Manor house, steeped in history and with views of the surrounding fields. We hope you love Muswell Manor as much as we do and we look forward to meeting you! ... more   less
