This was a lovely old place to stay. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with a nice outside seating area There are lots of comfortable seating areas around this interesting house. The owners are very friendly and helpful. When we asked about somewhere for dinner he contacted the owner at Cafe Avenida to see if she could cook for us. She did and served us three courses, (a very substantial main course of stuffed pork rolls) and all beautifully cooked and at a very reasonable price. We definitely recommend this hotel.
We spent two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The hostess provided tea and cake upon our arrival in the early evening and supplied generous treats throughout our stay. The room was very spacious and had access to a balcony overlooking the country landscape. The breakfast was excellent with juices, cakes, bread, cheese, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. We were able to walk on well established trails and roadways from the establishment up into the local fields and meadows above the village.
If you want to spend a few days travelling around the north-east of Portugal (Trás-os-Montes region), very close to the Spanish border, don't miss this outstanding location!! You will have the opportunity to meet very kind and hospitable people (the owners and local population), to feel the nature's deep senses and to taste the traditional Portuguese cookings of the region. The breakfast served is of top quality products (home-made jams, cakes, juices...), everything served by a smile and in a renewed traditional home of farmers. Furniture and decoration are fantastic, along with an exemplary architectural rehabilitation work. Bedrooms are quite nice, charmful and spacious, all with a great view to the prairie and mountains. In the end, you will feel thankful to have been there enjoying in a peaceful atmosphere .…
