I met 2 ladies from CDO port going here in Camiguin, I think God sent me these 2 folks since I have no clue where to go in Camiguin. We arrive aroung 7pm in camiguin and my newly found friends asks me to just join them in Enigmata. There is no way to get here at night but to rent...

Someone has really spent a lot of time and ideas on this hotel. It is very nice and the staff are great people. If you are on Cameguin to get adventurous, pick this place. There was however a lot of times I fell frustration about the place being so badly maintained. Usual toilets that doesn't flush, kitchen with a lot...

It was understaffed, no restaurant, and lacked a few light bulbs. It also looked abandoned from the outside. But when we got into the Eagle's Nest floor, I was stunned with the space. Artwork all around. Even in corridors and the reception area. It's not five star but there's really something about the place that pulled us in. We also...

It is a lodge like no other. We had the place all to ourselves. The kids felt like they were coming home to the province and were just playing in the treehouse. They climbed the EaglesNest lookout point while I watched the moon while laying on my back. Like many people, my family lives in a comfortable concrete home in...

Location-wise, it is a bit far from the highway and there are not so much transpo going out. This is actually very bad during the night. This particular disadvantage was magnified because we stayed during Fiesta and I'd like to go out in the evening. There are not much lightposts on the road going to the highway. Aside from that,...

We arrived late afternoon to celebrate our anniversary. It is 650 meters up from the highway, but the Mambajao jeepney took us right up to the door for ~20 pesos. We rented the Eagle's nest, which was HUGE for 2 people, but fun to climb around (three "floors" of treehouse, plus a dining/lounge area)! We've lived in the Philippines for...

Despite reading terrible reviews... we still opted to stay here seeing how beautiful it was. We were discouraged by our driver and told us there are other places for us to stay. regretfully, after all the warnings...and the sign we still opted to stay. It is really a unique place.. beautiful concept but it was full of insects. I cannot...

The place seems interesting as I looked it up on its website. But it's terrible over-all. Upon arriving late in Camiguin, around 8pm, there is no public transportation going to the place. From the Benoni Port, we took a jeep and alighted at the main highway going to Mambajao. Enigmata is around 2km walking distance away from the main highway....

The treehouse hotel was great! Fantastic experience, huge room in what looks like a treehouse, but having electricity, water and WiFi. No luxury here, pretty low key so not for the fancy-oriented, but very different that your usual hotel experience. Playing the drums with other guests and hotel staff a plus. Water turns off for a while after a long...

It looks deceptively nice in pictures but it's a terrible place to check in to. When we got there, there was no one around. It took us 15 mins of knocking and calling out. Then a really unpleasant woman comes out and demands the rest of the payment for the 2 nights that we were going to stay in (downpayment...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Enigmata Treehouse Ecolodge celebrated its charm as a prime cultural destination and being a unique destination in the world for over a decade expanding the network of travellers, artists and environmentalists. In 2014, the management was burdened by the proposed construction of a diesel power plant 100 meters away within a residential area built by a private corporation in partnership with the local electric coop supported by the local government. Enigmata treehouse stood against the diesel power plant among a few other local people. A campaign was launched to stop the construction until up to this day due to its environmental pollution including noise pollution. It is unfortunate that a small island cannot choose sustainable renewable measures in energy consumption while there are better solutions to prioritize the needs of the locals over commercial purposes. Enigmata served the community all these years as a artist and training camp for the local teachers, youth and children, It has been visited by people from more than 90 countries and supported by several local and international benefactors in its biodiversity art education and cultural-based and art education. The vision of a green eco-living was the aim of the treehouse to go off grid. The operation dwindled, the staff come and go, the operation suffered. It was hard to envision a future for Enigmata Treehouse next to a diesel power plant. Recently, a tragic event happened for unknown reason the treehouse was burned down October 22, 2015 around 1:44 am with undetermined cause of fire. We stopped operation and now planting a forest to heal the land. Everything has a reason. The fire calls for purification, change and newness... Thank you to those who understood the purpose of Enigmata more than just an ecolodge and those who supported Enigmata all these years... The inner fire of Enigmata keeps on burning. What is left standing amidst the debris is the intangible heritage that I wish to grow and blossom in the hearts of the children. Let this memory of beauty be monument of the heart. ... more   less
