This is our seventh time at LHH, only Lake Springs and Mayo Landing left to stay in. Perfect as always. So peaceful and relaxing. Fantastic birthday treat. It was wonderful to see the cygnets on the lake this morning. We have still to see the elusive otters. Maybe next time 🤞Thank you once again James, Anthony and family.

We have just returned from our third Log House Holiday - it would have been our fourth, had it not been for lockdown. Once again we have had the most wonderful week of relaxation and chilling. We seem to be slowly working our way around the lake, trying out each of the cabins!  We have not yet found our clear favourite -  They are all a little different, but all have their own unique POI, whether it be the sunset, the fishing, the position or the layout, but each one is a true little haven of relaxation.  This year we stayed at Monty’s Retreat that has the most amazing view of the sunset - and what a sunset we had on the first night!  The cabin has everything you need and was a perfect little holiday home for the week.  The beds, pillows and duvet were perfect! The best nights sleep ever. The bath and shower have the most amazing water pressure and was a real treat (not used to that kind of power shower!).  And then there’s the hot tub - nothing more relaxing sitting in the hot tub watching the sunset, or maybe a chilly evening with the steam rising, feeling all warm with the air outside the tub being irrelevant.  Then light the log pit and sit around toasting marshmallows watching the flames jump about (the logs provided burn perfectly!) Although we had a couple of days of showers, just to be able to sit on the rocker bench on the veranda, under cover from the rain,  watching the lake and birds and wildlife kept us busy.  Of course there were several trips around the lake in the rowing boat, just to be able slowly paddle around seeing even more of the lake and it’s wildlife.  We also rented a kayak - bit of fun!  The walk around the lake (in the rain and in the sun) is a beautiful trail going along the lake, through the trees and is a lovely relaxing stroll letting you take in every bit of this beautiful, tranquil nature reserve.  This is definitely a Nature Reserve first and foremost, with the log cabins strategically placed, so as to not spoil the concept.  I have never seen or found a holiday that is so private and secluded, yet so close to everything you need.  It really is perfect and we will most definitely be going back for a fourth visit - we just have to try and decide which cabin next! Decisions decisions! To to top it off Log House Holidays is run by James and Anthony - a father and son who have put their heart and soul into this ‘business’.  They work tirelessly to keep the wildlife with new habitats and have not commercialised or compromised this unique holiday experience in any way.  We have stayed in log cabins on other holidays and they seem to try and cram on an many cabins as they can - not here!  James and his family are really genuine, lovely people, who work hard and really want to keep making this the amazing place that it is. We cannot recommend Log House Holiday enough and defy anyone to go and not enjoy it.  If you’re looking for peace, privacy, seclusion, relaxation and a real unwind, then this is the holiday for you. Thank you and keep up the great work James and Anthony, you really have a unique little piece of heaven here ❤️

Just returned from a weekend away at Montys retreat and what an amazing weekend it was! Everything was perfect.. the log house was cosy and had everything you would need. But the real treat is the outdoors. We all loved the hot tub, boat and fire pit. We also rented the paddle boards which was a lot of fun (even though I fell in the freezing cold lake) 😂. The lake itself is beautiful and has a lovely walk the whole way around. All in all it was a fabulous weekend and we have already booked to return next year. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Just returned from a wonderful family long weekend in Moodara, as celebration for a special birthday. The location is amazing, so tranquil and relaxing. The lodge perfect, well equipped and cosy, everything needed for a December getaway, star gazing from the hot tub at night, beautiful walks, exploring and rowing lessons on the lake by day. We could have stayed for so much longer .... we will come back! Thoroughly recommended. Thank you James & Family for providing the perfect backdrop for our celebrations.

This is our 3rd visit. The two times before have been bigger parties (8 Moondara & 11 Mayo Landing). This time we came as a small family of 4. We stayed in Montys Retreat & it was as amazing as the other times we’ve been. Quiet, tranquil & the sense of isolation is just what we needed. Spent time on the lake just exploring & plenty of time in the hot tub. We’ve booked again for next year & would highly recommend any of the cabins to anyone! You won’t regret it. Looking forward to next year already! Thank you Anthony, James & Family. The Ainsworth Family.
