We stayed for 2 weeks at Casa Barabaru, and everyday we saw something new! Our room, although basic (double bed, fridge (with water restocked everyday), and wardrobe, A/C, fan, dressing table, and bathroom) was clean and comfortable, which was ideal for us as we barely spent any time there. This holiday was nothing like I have been on before, I...

From the welcome until check out everything went extreme. Enjoyed every minute to its fullest. And the island hospitality was excellent too. Loved the place and entire island Vaavu Thinadhoo. The beautiful nature surrounded was fantastic. Local foods taste delicious too.

Recently I have been 1 week in Casa Barabaru with my wife and children and we can only say good things about this place. Initially we were booked in Ocenic Village but the place is now closed and we were reallocated to Casa Barabaru. Mongi, Casa Barabaru owner, had the hospitality to acommodate us in his lodge. I think we...

Casa Barabaru for me means "home sweet home", I don't know what to add more then what have been already written of positive about this magic place. I've been there twice in less then one year, it is not only about the maldivian island that is beautiful, it is more about all the staff that work there, they make you...

We have spend ther our first holidays without our kids. All was great. Perfect place for us a specialy that we do not like big hotels and resorts. You Dan feel and see every day life in Maledives. Only thing we were sorry was that our kids should enjoy this time with us.

Casa Barabaru provides one of the rarest of commodities...a rustic, tropical relaxing family time with a most enjoyable cultural experience. I, too, had searched a list of resorts in the Maldives and found them wanting in some way or another... too big, too expensive, too many hidden costs, too loud, no cultural experience...the search ultimately pointed directly to Casa Barabaru,...

Supposedly the word "atoll" is derived from the Dhivehi word "Atholhu", and after a week at Barabaru, I wouldn't be surprised to learn if the words "holiday" or "vacation" also have similar origins. This place seriously puts your mind at ease and lets you unwind. Despite some confusion regarding the money transfer for the deposit, pre-departure correspondance, and plans for...

When my wife and I decided to spend a week in Maldives, I started an extensive search on internet of the best options available. 90% of the possibilities included a resort - larger or smaller, more expensive or more affordable. But once you have been in a resort, all of them are more or less the same. More importantly, all...

My wife and I stayed at Barabaru for 2 weeks in April 2011. It was probably the best beach holiday we’ve ever had (in the past we’ve been to Zanzibar; Mauritius; Madagascar; Sri Lanka and South Africa). A couple of years ago the Maldivian government allowed guests to stay on ‘non-resort islands’ and Casa Barabaru opened up with two rooms....

For our second vacation in the Maldives, we chose to have a more personal, closer-to-local experience and decided to spend a week in Casa Barabaru. The initial contacts were a bit complicated, having to arrange deposit payment across borders, and dealing with sales office in Italy + the local team. Our advice here: plan the holiday in advance, and do...

“Room 3 has minimal seaview, but the wifi reaches it. Big enough for a family. Plenty of aircon. Next to the kitchen and dining area. Several rooms were in an enclosed compound in the village.”

“Choose the room in the village if you want to be more immersed in the local experience and away from the 3 main rooms at the beach. Or vice-versa if you want to be just 30 metres from the sea.”

“Ask for the rooms by the restaurant: they are closer to the sea”
OttaviaB, 25 Feb 2012 | Read review
“I would advise to choose rooms #1 or #2, because they are closer to the ocean and it gives you a nice view right after you leave your room. On the other hand, it would be also fun to try the rooms located in the village (this is like 50m away:)) - they are also quiet and even more spacious!”
