Not even going to waste my time on this. Just will never return. The owners seem to just wander around in a constant state of being pissed...talking jibberish and lording it up amongst the locals. The food was inedible during my stay and if they do have a chef /cook I never saw one...! A real shame as it has...

The hotel looked so quaint from the outside. We were late for Sunday lunch at 2.40 the restaurant was supposed to close at 3.30. But the owner said they closed at t hee. The food was horrible, we think it had been heated up in a micro wave. The service was none exist any as we payed for our food...

We were told to stay here for a friend's wedding in June, as it was the nearest town to where the wedding was. To be perfectly honest, if we hadn't been going to a wedding the same day, I would not even have unpacked my bags. Some would say the place is quirky, I would say it is dirty, over-crowded...

We stayed for two nights which was a big mistake, both owners a Jon and Sue drunk from lunch time onwards. Room dirty being an understatement, food inedible. Just like the last review owners not bothered. Do yourselves a favour do not stand or eat here

We stayed with a group of friends so were able to laugh through the awfulness of the stay. Owners obviously like nude paintings. Furnishings in our room threadbare. Blind falling to bits. Friends had cracked handbasin. Others shower not working. On reporting owners not bothered. We had booked dinner for our group on first night. 15 minutes before we were...

Called to check if there was a need to book a table -- told there was no need. Arrived for a birthday meal with friends on Sat 16 May to be confronted with a sign on the bar: 'No Food Today' -- no wonder we were told there no need to book a table! Still, we enjoyed a good evening...

The blue boar hotel was a good place to stay. It's got a lot of history and basically just an old place! The rooms were good, had all the furnishings you needed! Just took a bit again used to do with the floorboards and the rest of the room being a level due to the how old to build on...

I was attending my brother's funeral in Maldon. My husband and I are both wheelchair users had telephoned the hotel three weeks prior to our visit to enquire if their rooms were wheelchair accessible. The charming gentleman I spoke to said yes indeed they had an accessible room however the room was booked out on the date we required. I...

According to its website, this Inn is something like six hundred years old and some of the paintings hanging in the residents’ lounge look like they date back from the grand opening. In many ways, Olde Worlde charm can be quite attractive, if you can tolerate the downside of creaking floorboards, concave beds, peeling and faded wallpaper and an apparently...
