Really lovely hostel- incredibly friendly and helpful staff all of whom are obviously experienced travellers with loads of local knowledge. The hostel itself is set in a beautiful location in a valley between mountains, and there are lovely lawns, hammocks, and chairs to relax in outside, and a fireplace, comfy seating and homey interior. Plus homemade beer, dinners (we had...

The vibe of this place is incredible. They have amazing staff and a beautiful property and, at the time, offered yoga classes and bread making classes. It had a very communal feel with people cooking dinners for each other and going on group hikes. If mixing with others is not your thing there's plenty of space for that too. Both...

Has to be up there as one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Amazing family feel to a really cosy place. As I stayed in the winter there wasn't many people staying there but became really close to everyone that was there (including the amazing staff). All the breakfast stuffs were homemade, the beer brewed basically on site was...

La Casona de Odile really is heaven in the hostel world - more so in Patagonia. The beds are comfy in the warm dorms, the yoga classes in the mornings as well as the lovely garden to relax are pure bliss! Their restaurant serves delicious and healthy food (though strangely very few veggies) and their own beer. The only thing...

My friends and I absolutely loved this place. We drove a rental car from Bariloche to El Bolson. When we headed down a really long dirt road to the hostel.. I was starting to get worried that I had made a bad decision booking this place. But once we drove up to the hostel we were in love. It's like...

Once and a while during traveling, you stumble a cross a wonderful place that (if you leave) you will store the memories from it close to your heart. This is one of them. After long hicks in several places in the south of Patagonia, we wanted a place to relax and recuperate. Seeing this hostel as a recommendation in the...

How many times in your travels have you found yourself imagining the ideal place to rest your weary bones; a place that speaks the language of the merry traveler, understands the beauty of small comforts, and shares with you this same dream of the ideal place for any traveler. Can you imagine a paradisiacal park intertwined with winding canals that open into sparkling ponds connected by Monet-like bridges? Imagine a breathtaking backdrop of lavender plantations, hundreds of native and exotic trees, the river Quemquemtreu babbling by, and the majestic presence of the Andean Mountains looming above on all sides. If you can imagine all of this, imagine in it's midst a beautiful wooden house, the vision of an artist, with it's open, inviting spaces, grand fireplace and wood-burning stoves, the solarium opening up to the expansive garden, and with it's dormitories and double rooms that offer the comfort and tranquility you have been longing for in your journey. Imagine now waking in the peacefulness of this place and rising to a breakfast of homemade breads and jams. Or returning from one of El Bolson's many lovely hikes on a warm summer's day to share an artisanal beer in the garden with the other guests. Then come evening, imagine a delicious homemade meal, a pizza, a picada, or feeling at home in the fully equipped kitchen where you can whip up your own magic. If you can envision all of this, then you share our grand vision of what makes a hostel truly unique, and the dream made reality that awaits you here in Patagonia. ... more   less
