I found Snow Leopard lodge through a series of research of reviews from various sources. Mr Manzoor was ready to respond when I found him on Google maps. I had travelled with family with two young kids. Mr Manzoor was kind enough to open up his warm home to us and also arrange for a full transport for our itinerary at very reasonable costs. He let me use his lavish kitchen which was very important for me. His warmth extended to us all, even in all the simple and wholesome meals he prepared for us whenever asked. He also showed us around his lavish home garden and was always present for any help. His transport partners were so respectful and kind. The home itself is extremely well kept, and every detail is taken care off. The washrooms, the beds- firm for the back, fluffy pillows, the linens, the attached living room for each bedroom, the garden space and the kitchen are all so well kept and upto date. The carpets in the bedroom and the living room make it more warmer. Mr Manzoor is an amazing chef with a good knowledge of the condiments and spices for each cuisine and knows what he is doing especially continental, italian and kashmiri cusine. The best part i liked about him, was that he respected our privacy yet being always available to all our requests and made us super comfortable. Above all he is an expedition specialist and would love to take his guest on a trek if planned in advance at a very affordable costs with high quality camping and trekking gear. I just wish I could do a trip with him just for that. We whole heartedly wish Mr Manzoor and the Snow Leopard expedition the best.

A visit to Kashmir couldn't be finalised until my wife and I were mentally assured of a clean, safe and secured stay. After a long search on various portals, we happened to find Snow Leopard Lodge on TA and booked a superior room for a 4N stay. The owner arranged for airport pickup/drop, sightseeing (extra charges payable). Upon arriving at his lodge, I was happy I made the right choice to stay. The owners are wonderful hosts, they took good care of us. Evening tea under a pergola was a memorable experience. From paper mache to cricket match, Kashmiri dishes to trekking - the knowledgeable hosts Manzoor & his wife Jill can keep you deeply engaged in conversation. Anyone planning to visit the valley, can be assured of a pleasant vacation. *Word of advise - Only Continental Breakfast is served. Room heater is not available. We would’ve liked to stay longer, but as the proverb goes “all good things must come to an end”. Thanks Manzoor bhai & Jill, hope to meet you again. Adiós.

10/10. Highly recommended. If you are someone looking for a peaceful stay, this place is yours. The place is in a good location. It's just a 20-minute-ride in a scooter. And there are also market places and local attractions nearby. Mr. Manzoor is the best host we have ever come across. The place was not only picturesque with beautiful mountains and green everywhere but also completely hygienic and we kid you not, we straight up searched for 2 weeks for a place with a good bathroom and there weren't many. Overall, in a great budget, we got to have whatever we desired. And Mr. Manzoor's cooking skills will take you aback, even more so his experiences and knowledge in trekking. We highly recommend to spend a good amount of time with Mr. Manzoor as he is a quite delightful and insightful person who is just a great company to have. He was always a phone call or a text away for whatever request and whichever time we needed. We have a LOT to describe but words won't suffice. You just have to experience it for yourself. This place is a 10/10 for us. Not one negative to say about the place or the people or the experience. And believe me we are very difficult people to be with and this is coming from us. We had the best time. Visiting again just to experience Mr. Manzoor's trekking expedition

This is our third time staying at Snow Leopard Lodge. Each time our hosts, Manzoor and Jill Billoo, have given us an incredible experience and very comfortable stay. Their very spacious home over 3 floors has 4 king size suites, 3 with their own separate lounge areas making it very relaxing in your own suite. All meals were catered by Manzoor, a very experienced cook who has worked in international hotels. He would source fresh produce each day from the local village varying the menu daily and preparing traditional Kashmiri dishes. Manzoor also runs a trekking business and although this visit we did not trek due to the cold weather he did organise day tours for us visiting Gulmarg, a nearby village where we were able to have a day walk and picnic and also numerous day trips to Srinagar city. We had a day trip to Dal Lake which included viewing a houseboat for morning tea and a shikara ride around beautiful Dal Lake. Another day we did a walking tour through Srinagar’s old town visiting the spice market, Rosa Bal, Jamia Masjid, Badshah’s tomb and many more historical sites. Wandering the narrow streets of the old town seeing craftsmen at work was definitely a highlight of this trip too. Jill helped us source local handicrafts assisting us on shopping trips to Srinagar and the famous Polo View Road. Wandering down the Bund along the Jhelum River is like stepping back to the English colonial days. I recommend a stay at Snow Leopard Lodge for a relaxing time in a village surrounded by snow capped peaks. There are many walks nearby to keep you fit and walk off the scrumptious meals. Getting into Srinagar city centre is easy via local transport taking only 30 minutes. Manzoor can help to organise not only local accompanied tours but also road/rail/air trips all over India and of course the incredible experience of trekking in the Himalayas.

This is a return journey for my husband and I to Snow Leopard Lodge, our first being in October 2014 just after a major flood event in Srinagar. Although the flood did not affect our activities around the local village of Chandpora Harwan, we did miss out on seeing the centre of Srinagar. We therefore decided to return and stay for 7 weeks to enjoy the local village life and also see Srinagar in its glory. We were not disappointed. Our hosts, Jill and Manzoor Billoo of Snow Leopard Lodge went way beyond our expectations organising not only local activities including walking tours and day picnic outings to nearby attractions, but also a driving tour from their home to Leh in Ladakh. We also went on another 4 night trek up the Aru Valley to Kolhai Glacier. Everything went very smoothly, all expertly organised by Manzoor, not only a remarkable trekking guide, tour guide but also an expert cook at home. His wife, Jill, also deserves a star for taking us on various shopping expeditions around Srinagar town. The 7 weeks went by so quickly and we were very sad to leave, planning when to return again. The lodge is a 3 level home, extremely comfortable with a beautiful outdoor garden and entertainment area under a pergola. Our third level suite contained a bedroom, bathroom with large corner bath and separate shower, lounge room and large undercover balcony from which you could sit and admire the surrounding mountains. Manzoor and Jill have an incredible support team who individually also made us very welcome including our driver, Lateef, house helpers Nazeera and Imtiaz and of course the incredible pony men who drove the ponies carrying our camping equipment up the Aru Valley. If, like us, you want a holiday which not only delivers on comfort and good food, but also gives you a life experience then do not hesitate to book into Snow Leopard Lodge and also take a look at Manzoor’s trekking website Snow Leopard Expeditions. Thank you again Jill and Manzoor, we are already planning a return visit!

The best thing about the place is the scenic surroundings. The view of the mountains is majestic. The service was up to the mark.Though a bit secluded I would suggest that its a good place to stay if one is visiting the place.

Place is good and the food is tasty. service levels are high and the staff is friendly. a must stay, but travel in the month of May-July for best views and climate. There are mountains around and sipping a hot cup of tea in the morning is the best thing :)

We stayed in Snow Leopard lodge from 25.03.15 to 28.03.15, we must compliment that the lodge was kept in top condition and the hosts (Mr. Manzoor & Mrs. Jill) were fabolous, they took care of us like we are there family members. We were totally a group 14 (10 Adults & 4 Children), but the hospitality that was embraced upon us was just amazing. All in all we had a wonderful stay and a lovely experience ( recommended to all).

I travel to Srinagar at least twice a year and would not stay anywhere else but Snow Leopard Lodge. The hosts offer a wonderful ambience between Western lifestyle whilst retaining the beautiful tradition of Kashmir. Positioned perfectly in a village 20 minutes from Dal Lake and the heart of Srinagar city, the home has five huge bedrooms and four bathrooms so privacy is assured for your stay. Also surrounded by a wonderful garden overlooking the Himalayas the tranquility of the Lodge is complete. I always have the home cooking which is offered by Manzoor Billoo and you cannot go past his chicken curry!! His guiding in the mountains - I have been on a 7 day trek with him from Sonamarg to Gangabal Lakes - is wonderful and I felt safe and well looked after always. Snow Leopard Lodge a must to stay and experience.
