The house we stayed in was huge, well kept and had everything in it. The houses are far enough apart that you have full privacy. The reserve is beautiful and if you enjoy hiking it is the perfect place to go for a day or two. The admin needs a little work, but overall it was a good experience.

Try to book via varies websites. Checked rates and availability as advertised on main website of Wolfkop, however when it's time to confirm booking the rates were excessively inflated, more than double. The answer you get, is that their website still needs to be updated. Be ware of the false advertising. Sad, because it looked like a nice place to...

Hi Herman, Thanks for your comment. Just to explain to you how the different booking platform works as i realize here your knowledge and experience of these type of marketing platforms does not exist. Each platform uses a different method to advertise an average price for a specific product. This price does not reflect the amount of people (2 or...

I booked the self catering cottage for 3 nights for my parents, wife and myself! It started off great, the accommodation was excellent (the jacuzzi in the heat was great to cool and relax in) the view is just amazing and needs to be seen. But then the water stopped working, I called and text with no reply, when I...

Visited for the first time early December and found it so relaxing that we went back for another 2 days a week later. Not much to do apart from what we planned, relax in the Jacuzzi, braai and just enjoyed the peace, start at night is magnificent. Stayed in the Botterboom unit, very spacious and well equipped Price just right...

We stayed for a weekend and wished we could stay longer. The chalet was geared for everything, the views where fantastic and weather awesome, as we had come from a cold Cape Town. We used the canoes on the dam and had a blast. What an awesome weekend.

We stayed in the 10 sleeper lodge - amazing for couples with each room feeling like a private chalet (own bathroom & door to wrap around porch) Everything one needs to cater for a large group. STUNNING views & setting - we didn't leave all weekend and still felt like we had spent our entire weekend out in nature. Best...

Basic but well-equipped tents were more than adequate. The grounds are well-kept, the mountains are gorgeous, and the slow-moving river is nice for a paddle. Two downsides were that there was a windstorm in the night that dislodged our poles and collapsed one of our tents, which we had to rebuild; and there was the constant noise of the generator...

The weather was fantastic, temperatures up to 36. Upon arriving at the camp site we were all shocked everything you need is already there tents set up kettle, toaster, cooler box even down to the small details like blitz for your fire. We all have an amazing weekend and will definitely be going back. Sadly no fish in the river...

We spent a few days at Wolfkop and it was great! We were 2 couples in a decent size cottage (more like a house) which was excellent. Quality linen and very well equipped cottage. Stunning views over the region made our stay absolutely incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed the time and will definitely be back. The weather was too cold to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lying 5km from Citrusdal, at the foothills of the Cederberg, Wolfkop is a 450ha reserve featuring privately-appointed cottages and a platter of outdoor activities. There are four cottages, all private and blending neatly into the setting, and all four spilling panoramic views across the Oliphants River valley. Each Cottage has a private, jacuzzi and Fire place, Eco sauna and Jungle Gym for kids. There is a beautiful hiking trail with canoes to hire for swimming or fishing. Bird watching is of the highest quality due to setting of each Mountain Cottage in middle of the Fynbos.Individually decorated in African art and colours, two bedrooms feature in each, accommodating four guests, with extra space in the lounge for two more. The main bedroom features a Queen-size bed, with two single beds in the second bedroom. Comfortable mattress and cotton percale bedding are common to all, as is both an indoor and outdoor hot shower. The kitchen is open-plan and well equipped, including fresh orange juice in season and fresh coffee beans and grinder for the perfect cuppa.Stepping into the lounge area, this boasts high ceilings, deep sofas for that obligatory afternoon siesta, and an open fireplace to accompany a fine glass of plonk in winter. Double doors open to a terrace fitted with hammocks and lantern-lit Jacuzzi, while to to the back there's a dedicated jungle-gym for the kid in you. While us hedonist types at Budget Getaways will be hard pressed to leave the hammock there's a lot to do. ... more   less
