It is all about the location. We stayed there the night before we started our klotok-tour. The rooms and the facilities are basic and you need to accept that insects live there too. This should not be a surprise for anyone as you are in the middle of a jungle. We expected a little more "Eco" and had to find...

Thank you for your report and your comments re our eco claims. The following is relevant: We follow a six point company eco certification system of 15000 points based on six pillars (1) proof that the environment is essential for our business (2) proof that our environment is sustainable (3) proof that we collaborate with our partners and have environmental...

We stayed here for two nights. Basic accommodation, as good as it gets in the middle of the jungle. Clean room, basic shower. Breakfast was a little bit 'poor', only eggs and toast, no fruit, cereal, juice, ... Waking up with the sound of monkeys on your roof was cool though! :-)

The thing is, for accommodation like this, all you want is a comfy bed and a roof over your head when you want a base to go up and down the Sekonyer River looking for wildlife. That's what we got but we also got lovely staff and the thrill of macaques scuttling across your roof to wake you up in...

Thank you for your comments. E do not pretend to be a luzury lodge but we believe we offer comfortable accommodaation while you explore one of the most unique places on earth and one of the few places you can see wild orangutans, even in the lodge grounds.

We were expecting a fairly basic lodge and that's what we got. The room was ok, the air con worked well and there was hot water. The bathroom was very basic, with wiring lashed to the wall with tape and an exposed circuit breaker. Dinner was average but the breakfasts were dire. The toast had presumably been kept warm over...

My score of 'Very Good' relates to the actual accommodation its self and not the package we were on and the experience that we had. We have stayed at Eco Lodges before so it was as expected, nothing more. It is not the high standard of the Eco Lodges we stayed in in Africa. Our guide 'Hakim' met us at...

We booked this lodge through Eco Lodges Indonesia who run this lodge and a number of other remote lodges in Indonesia. Both the car & boat transfer went smoothly and overall we found our 3 night stay a great alternative to staying on a Klotok (traditional boat). The staff were lovely and although the accommodation was basic, there was a...

Keeping in mind where the hotel is and what your options are, this hotel is a good choice if you have rented a boat and don't care to sleep on it with no AC or shower. We stayed in a room with AC which worked fine, we had perfect hot showers and the room is comfortable, the furniture seems quite...

W greatly appreciate your comments on our lodge. Built in 1991, we purchased it in 2004 and slowly improved the place. It gives us real pleasure that you enjoyed it especially the ecological aspects. Alan Wilson, Chairman of the Board, Ecolodges Indonesia

As good as it gets for the middle of the rain forest. Lacking in a few areas but its too be expected. Friendly staff and better option than the boat. You go to see the orangutans and that's what we got. :)

I doubt anyone comes here for the hotel experience because of course it's all about the orangs and on this basis Rimba Lodge ticks the box and does the job. Over the course of our three night stay we were out and about on the river by 8 am and not returning until 5 pm - so really Rimba served...
