This is my fourth visit in two years to Rancho Santana. I have traveled extensively and when you find a paradise like the Ranch, it makes you truly appreciate and more aware of what a special place RS is. Nothing compares to it- the natural beauty, rugged terrain, luxurious accommodations from cliff side houses (I have stayed in three different...

Our eight member family was at Rancho Santana for seven days, arriving Saturday, December 17 and departing December 23, 2016. The experience at Rancho Santana exceeded my expectations. Our trip took us from Atlanta, through Miami, and on to the Managua International Airport. Getting through customs was efficient and uneventful. You should be aware that you must purchase a tourist...

Beautiful beaches, rooms, houses, trails, natural paradise. Good food and spa to match. Not Mukul but getting close. All 5 beaches are unique as are the wide open areas. Good place to relax and get away. No one will find you or bother you here.

I read where Forbes Magazine described Rancho Santana as "simply stunning" and basically that says it all. My wife and I rented a 4WD SUV and traveled up and down the southern Pacific Coast. It left us speechless how beautiful and undeveloped this stretch of coastline is. Rancho Santana has managed to walk the fine line of keep the area...

We stayed at two villas - Villa Santana, and, because this was not available for our full stay, a garden villa. Both were very nice. Villa Santana is a world class resort house - beautifully appointed, with fine art on the walls and every comfort, and it's a spacious house with accommodations for lots of people. It's beautifully laid out,...

From the beautiful rooms overlooking the Pacific to delicious meals from breakfast to dinner it is a supreme place to "let the world go away." Spent Thanksgiving week in this beautiful paradise, swimming, walking along the beaches, lunching at Los Perros and the Inn, visiting Ometepe volcano and Rivas and more. Accomodations at the Inn, restaurants and everything was just perfect. A beautifully casual yet elegant ambience that encourages you to relax as well as try new activities. And the fact that it's smaller than...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Rancho Santana, set serenely in the Southwest Pacific offers a collection of distinctive seaside experiences. Though little more than two hours from Nicaragua's capital city of Managua by car, the property has grown into a quiet community that enjoys purity, authenticity, and a somehow romantically rustic elegance. Both residential and resort, "the ranch" boasts over 2,700 acres of majestic land along two miles of shoreline which include five unique beaches. And while this paradise is the perfect setting to do nothing at all but sunbathe and stargaze, its remarkable range of terrain, unique climate and soothing coastal breezes make it a coveted destination for the more active and adventurous traveler. Tucked between the open sea and the immense Lake Nicaragua, "the ranch" has the distinction of being one of the only isthmuses on the entire Pacific Ocean. This unique geographical phenomenon creates gentle tropical breezes, which when paired with year-round warm ocean waters make the beaches' surfing conditions some of the most coveted on the planet. With the early sunrise, "shredders" of all ages and origins take to the breaks of Las Cinco Playas de Rancho Santana, which include some of the world's most vertical waves, providing both visual drama as well as world-class surfing. Lookers-on walk the water's edge watching the surfers dance across the waves while just yards behind them fisherman bring in what will be the evening's fresh catch in the clubhouse's renowned restaurant, La Finca y el Mar. ... more   less
