Its a nice place about two hours from gurgaon and an ideal spot for a weekend getaway. The place can comfortably accommodate about 12 people. The home cooked meals are worth every penny. The only problem is that the washroom which is not cleaned at regular intervals.

Its a small farm house with its own pros and cons. We had booked this place only after going through the reviews on tripadvisor. Even though the amount that the owner charges was a little too high but we didn't mind paying it as we wanted to have our own privacy. It seemed as if the place was locked since a few days and was opened for us especially. We were a group of 14 people and a child. Coming to the pros first:- 1. Great Hospitality. - 20 marks on 10. 2. Tasty Food, umlimited tea. 10 marks on 10 3. Clean swimming pool. 10 marks on 10. 4. The freshly plucked vegetables we got for carrying home. 5. The lush greenry around. 6. Power back up. Cons:- 1. Dirty washrooms ( not because of our wet feet but they were dirty even when we entered for the first time). There were dead insects lying here and there. The water was coming on and off in one of the washrooms. One washroom (top floor) has water on the floor and when i asked the owner to get it wiped his answer was "Oh, there must be a leakage somewhere". That water never got wiped. 2. Though the linen and towels etc were clean but my sister was poked with a big needle that was stuck inside the mattress. My aunt was poked with a nail, twice, which were lying on the floor of the room. 3. There were sofa cum beds for extra people and the owner claimed that two people can sleep on one. Probably the owner was expecting 14 slim n trim ppl to be his guests. However, that wasn't true as the 6 (later 5) out 14 people who had to sleep on the sofa cum bed (including myself) just did not have a comfortable sleep and merely had to adjust on the sofas. I also asked the owner to arrange for another mattress to which he agreed, but never got back to any of us later regarding it. He was quite adamant on the fact that four ppl can sleep on two sofas. As a consequence of all this, my mom had to sacrifice and sleep on chairs after combining two of them. I wud say that his place is great if there are 6 to 8 people travelling. I dont think its ready to accommodate more ppl than that. 4. There were no cupboards to keep our luggage. Just a square table in each room. 5. The kitchen was small and unhygenic. I wanted to make coffee for myself in the night but cudnt enter. Plus they kept the kitchen garbage in the lobby area that added more to the unhygenicness. We had to request the helpers at night to pls put the garbage outside the house. 6. There was leakage of water from AC in one room. 7.. Even though the owner was in constant touch with us even before we started the trip and had agreed to come and show us directions (and we really really did appreciate that) but in the end, apparently his car got jammed and he asked us to reach on our own. it was only once we reached, that he informed us that we will have to park our cars a km away and walk through the fields. Though i didnt mind it. But i think he needs to make a location map for his farm house and send it to the guests so that they know exactly from where to take turns and how far to travel. At the end, i just feel that the place was really not with the money that was charged from us. As per memories are concerned, we only have fond memories of time we spent in the swimming pool. Plus he should also update the tariff on his website as it shows the wrong amounts. This is an honest review, as reviewing it otherwise would tantamount to deceiving the others. So i would request the owner to kindly take this review in positive spirit and improve his farm house, instead of getting offended.

First and foremost, the place is literally impossible to find without getting lost atleast 3-4 times. If you book this place, make sure you ask for directions or a map from the owner. Secondly, don't go by the fancy name, this place is just a farmhouse with tubewell converted to a mini swimming pool. The place can barely accommodate 8 people, there is no provision of cupboards and washrooms are dirty. Food though tasty is not served hot and hygiene is another thing to watch out for as the kitchen is extremely dirty. Parking is atleast a kilometer away so you have to walk before you reach the place. The place is much before Alwar with just an old temple and a seasonal waterfall to visit. The staff n the owner are polite n courteous and the farmhouse has a small hill nearby but these I guess are not enough to overcome the shortcomings mentioned above. If going, do not go with high expectations else you are bound to be disappointed. If given a choice, I would rather sit in the comfort of my home versus visiting this place again.

Dear Amol I am a bit surprised by your review. let me try to address your review point wise DIRECTIONS I was in touch with even before you started from your home plus I did speak to you a few time while you were on the way also warning you about places where you would encounter rain damaged roads. I had also told you that in case of doubt please call. In fact it was my call that helped you turn back after you had overshot Kishangarh by a few kilometers. Anyway in these days of Google maps it is really difficult to get lost ......so? THE FANCY NAME Alwar is the largest mustard producing area in the country so please don't run the name down. I love my area and my village. DISTANCE I had informed you in advance that due to heavy rains you will have to park your vehicles a few fields away. Honestly the walk to the resort is a pleasant one along the lush green fields. ACCOMMODATION You were aware that the place is good for 8 people. I had told you that if you have the comfort level you can share the place in a larger group. you had agreed as you were a family, a group of 15 people and a lovely child. BATHROOMS constant movement of 15 people walking on wet grass is bound to make the bathroom floors slightly muddy and dirty. KITCHEN The kitchen is definitely small but not dirty or unhygienic. MY Questions to You were the A/Cs in the rooms working, was there enough water supply in the bathrooms, was there power back up, was there enough supply of unlimited bottled mineral water, was the water in the pool clean, was the quality/quantity of food ok, was the bed linen clean, were there enough sofa cum beds to accommodate all of you, did we go the extra mile to make your visit comfortable and memorable. I think your answer will be an honest YES. One really needs a different mindset to appreciate and enjoy the countryside presented in an undiluted manner. For the rest slick talking waiters and managers will do. Regards Paramjeet Singh

Mustard Country is a farm house and country retreat. Visitors should go there with this fact in mind, they will not be disappointed. The house is in the midst of vegetable fields, there is a hill also. The place is no frills, no luxury but neat and clean and well furnished. There is a lemon and amla orchard also. Instead of usual tube well in the farms, there is a small swimming pool. As for the activities, one can take walks through the farms and orchards, which we do not get a chance in cities. The air is clean and good. The visit relaxed us completely. There is Kallu, the caretaker, who jumps to your call and does whatever asked for your care and off course, Massi, who prepares excellent home food. Definetly worth a visit.
