Good place for the price. Nice bed and clean rooms. The outdoor setting is nice for evening meals. Food is pretty good for the area. The surrounding environment isn't the greatest and no clear view of the lake. Very secure facility so you don't have to worry about theft. Usually stay here when in Mwanza due to budget.

Have written then re-written this review as there is little positive to say about the hotel. Although I will start with these, to be balanced. Security is fairly good – there are 24hr guards and some of the staff do make it their business to know the guests. Food is good – not a great selection but local and some...

An unexpected delay forced the 3 of us to stay overnight in Mwanza, my partner, his wife and myself. The La Kairo Hotel, being close to the business we had to do, was perfect. The 2 rooms we occupied, one on the 3rd floor and the 2nd on the 4th, were very clean but simple. Good beds, a decent bathroom,...

The hotel was located near a popular entertainment place but not very close and 15 mins drive to the airport or Lake port which is quite convenient for me.The top floor has some scenic views of the rolling Mwanza Hills.Food was slightly more expensive than expected and so other than breakfast I opted to dine at a nearby local restaurant

I stayed one night at the executive room and it was great. The bed was very comfortable and the views of the city and lake were fantastic. The breakfast was one of the best i have had in Mwanza City. Definitly recommend the place to local travellers like me.

Hotel Lakairo is a good option for business travel. It is not in a mzungu part of town, but rather in the Kirumba neighborhood, a thriving area of local business and other accommodation/restaurants, etc, also not far from the giant Mwaloni fish market. It is most popular with African businessmen. Here are its strengths. The staff are extremely helpful, friendly...

I stayed at Hotel La Kairo for 3 nights in one of their deluxe rooms. It's certainly not deluxe by Western standards, or even compared to those of other hotels in Tanzania, but it was a well air-conditioned room with a big bed and a good shower. The hotel had definitely seen better days and was a little run down,...

My preferred hotel to stay in while on a business trip to Mwanza. The location is good, safe, can easily connect to town. The restaurant is very good, just order for 'Mchemsho'. Best thing: breakfast. Very economical too for a budget traveller

First impressions are that this is a reasonably up market hotel – with shiny floored tiles and shiny quilted bedding but don’t be deceived! The pillows were in shiny quilted covers – we assumed we were not expected to put our heads on these, so we removed them! No one appeared to turn down the bedding. Paint is peeling, the...

I was put up here by Precision Air after delays meant I missed my connecting flight to Dar es Salaam. It was clean and had friendly staff. The room had a double bed but was very small which was fine for 1 person, but not sure if 2 were meant to fit in there. The decor was quite old. Not...
