Needed a stopover on the way home and visiting Guédelon castle so booked through booking.com very reasonable rate for family. When we arrived lovely welcome and fabulous room then had swim in a lovely pool (was a real treat). Will definitely be coming again. Great hosts and delightful accommodation.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated and off the breakfast area. The breakfast was superb. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and has a pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Alain et Rachael were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Their hotel is very well-maintained, clean and inviting. They are warm and welcoming and made us feel comfortable and at home in a way that very few bed and breakfasts and virtually no commercial hotels can. Wi-Fi is better in the main building than in the bungalows. Worth going out of one's...

For many years, this has been our ''Go To'' stay when in the area. The Manor, built in 1868, has been suitably modernized (but not too much) to become a Bed and Breakfast. The owner, Alain Savouré, and his wife, Rachael, make this a cosy, but not too personalized place. The facility is close to the village (town?) of Saint...

4 of us stayed in one of tyhe new bungalows in the garden. What a really nice B&B. Clean, comfortable and a good continetal breakfast. The owners are really helpful too. Highly recommended! It is only a 10 minute drivew to the castle - no wonder the BBC used it when filming the TV series.

What a great recommendation this B&B was! The hotel is situated just outside a lovely medieval village called Saint Fargeau, which has a good array of restaurants, grocers, patisseries, boulangeries etc., it is also superbly situated for visiting Guedelon Castle, which is a must see building project. The hosts are so welcoming, Rachel is English, her husband Alain is French...

Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds. Would be great for a family with kids during the summer. It was me and a friend wanting to visit the medieval castle being built at Guedelon and it was September and it was raining. So we used it as a handy central point. The rooms are charming but not necessarily tres chic. The bathroom...

Lovely hotel. Charming hosts. Attention to detail in every way. The rooms are extremely tasteful. Rachael who is English and Alain her French husband did everything they could to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. I highly recommend it.

We wanted a hotel near the mediaeval chateau of Guedelon (reviewed separately and not to be missed!). Les Grands Chenes is ideally placed 15 mins drive away. A graceful Manor House set amid woodland and with rolling lawns on which one would expect to see peacocks strolling. Sadly only chickens - and dog-owners are expected to keep them on leads!...

We spent one night here soon after arriving in France. Very easy to find with GPS - a lovely house with wonderful grounds and old trees. We were warmly welcomed to our room on the ground floor, right next to the breakfast room - but with nice double doors, so we weren't bothered by any early morning noise. A large,...
