An amazing hotel where the staff bends over backward to accommodate. They greet you like family and make sure you are comfortable and cared for. The rooms are clean and large with windows that open to the amazing views of Baracoa. The pool is wonderful with a view of El Yunque from the water.

I recently returned from a 4 day stay at El Castillo. The views are fabulous...of the sea and the charming town of Baracoa. The rooms are comfortable with fridge, TV and Air Cond. The food is quite good. The pool was crystal clear. Best of all is the helpful and pleasant staff...from the director of the hotel to the wait...

I recently spent 5 nights at El Castillo and was very pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the magnificent views and especially the friendly, helpful staff. The pool and bar area couldn't have a more stunning backdrop of the mountains, beach, city and bay. Highly recommended.

We just returned from a visit to Baracoa, Cuba, which is a magical city on the eastern tip of Cuba. We stayed at the Hotel El Castillo on a hill overlooking the city, the port, the beach and the Atlantic ocean. This is a Three star hotel with a million dollar view. The staff is outstanding: friendly, helpful and resourceful....

The Hotel El Castillo is a VERY nice hotel, by Cuban standards! It is located in an old Spanish fort, which was built with a commanding view over the city and harbour entrance. The view from our room, number 221, was, by any standard, stunning! It enjoyed views over Baracoa city, the harbour bay, and the unusual flat topped mountain,...

I was with my group in this hotel on this holiday on august! A great stay, large rooms, a huge breackfast and a beautiful view of the whole city of Baracoa. Of course there is also a nice pool and the staff was installing the wi-fi connection! A good choice!

Rooms were clean, average, sparse. 3rd floor walk up on slippery stairs not a big deal for us but for the poor gut schlepping the bags minus an elevator. Lock box did not work as they were out of batteries. I offered mine but was told they did not have the tools to do the job. Tried another room but...

We just came back from 3 days in Baracoa. Initially, we were booked into the newes hotel in Baracoa city called Hostal 1511, which we don't recommend. The rooms in Hostal 1511 were small, with no natural light coming into the room (very small window on the side), with a smell of humidity and low ceilings. In contrast the rooms...

The hotel El Castillo is situated at the highest location in Baracoa. It is an old Spanish ford looking out over the sea. The best way to get there from the airport is by bicycle taxi, but remind that you will have to walk the last few hundred meters yourself. The cyclists will carry your lugage up the high stair...

We had the most amazing view from our very large room... the rest was average. The food in the restaurant was extremely average - cocktails in the bar not bad though. Clean rooms with a/c and a fridge and decent enough bathroom. Steep climb to get to the hotel - fine for us after large meals elsewhere but not so...
