The standard of El Castillo was a really welcome surprise. Our tour leader had warned us not to have high expectations and others in our group of nine had no hot water in their room and water from a downpour coming down the wall. But...More

We had been warned to lower our expectations the further we were from Havana, and this hotel was the poster child for that admonition. The rooms were clean, the beds reasonably comfortable, and air conditioning operational, but we rarely had hot water, and some of...More

After spending nights in more than 8 hotels in Cuba I can honestly say that this hotel deserves the credits. It is located on top of a hill providing with an awesome view over the sea, bay, mountains and town. It does mean that you...More

I found no problem with the bathroom. It is not a luxury hotel but very clean and nice. All I can say, is when I return to Baracoa, and I will because it is a wonderful place, I will stat at El Castillo if at all possible.
