We visited this hotel october 2017; Poor breakfast and dinner quality; Pool area is nice; rooms somewhat outdated but fine if your stay (like ours) is only for a few days. View from the hotel on the Baracoa bay and beach is very nice though.

the hotel was built during the Russian era and looked and felt like it. It had a barracks feel to it. It was poorly run with disinterested staff. The room we ended up with after complaining about the first one had a spectacular view and...More

One of the many hotels we visited on our trip in Cuba and this was certainly one of the better-ones ! Like everywhere in Cuba, lack of maintenance is to be seen everywhere, but overall, everything was in place ! AC and hot water !...More

This hotel has seen better days and is need of a bit of a face lift. There were a few niggles with room's fixtures and fittings which could easily be resolved by a capable and willing handyman. Room and facilities were OK though even if...More

Apparently the best hotel in town. Located high up a steep slope (or steps) with very good views across the town and surrounding area. Room quality was somewhat lacking, eg. dirty windows, draughty and cold showers on two occasions. Cuban style basic breakfast. Had one...More

I found no problem with the bathroom. It is not a luxury hotel but very clean and nice. All I can say, is when I return to Baracoa, and I will because it is a wonderful place, I will stat at El Castillo if at all possible.
