We got there at supper time. This is very rural and not many meal options. Janet made dinner reservations at a nearby resort where the food was spectacular. I left a pair of sandals behind, they must have been hidden under the table or bed. Our next stop was Sydney, Janet was nearby for Thanksgiving and dropped them off at...

The skilled hosts made check in and preparation for being secluded from amenities such as a restaurant for and evening meal, very smooth. Their sense of stewardship in maintaining the historic home and it's history is admirable and offered with discernment according to people's interest levels. Great ambience throughout the home, and the museum room is a gem of a...

My friend and I spent one night at Four Mile Beach Inn. It is a fun and unique property filled with curio's and antiques. It is not a plush B&B.with lots of frills and there is nothing "fancy" about it. But if you are flexible and enjoy out of the way, off-beat places you can enjoy the idiosyncrasies of this...

To me, this is the ideal bed and breakfast. Beautiful historic home with a rich history, beautiful setting with proximity to some great hikes in north Cape Breton, owners who treat you like good friends, great conversation with other guests from near and far around the breakfast table, and a tasty continental breakfast with plenty of options. It is rustic...

What a great place! My daughter and I stayed for one night (too short!) during our visit to Nova Scotia in August 2016. After getting settled in our charming second floor room, we were given an orientation to this historic inn by Janet, one of the owners. We arrived in the evening and the local fish shack- take out place...

My husband and I stayed at the Four Mile Beach Inn on our second night on the Cabot Trail (coming from Baddeck). We stayed in Room 7 which was comfortable and spacious enough for our needs. Only complaint about the room was that there was no television, and unfortunately it poured rain during our visit so we were forced to...eep...talk...

We stayed only one night, and it was first day of opening for season. A very friendly couple runs the place. Its very old, and plumbing is questionable. Our room was nice, very pretty, and clean. Its a bit of walk to the beach, and not much of view. Breakfast is excellent. The rates are reasonable. Friendly service. The bathrooms...

My boyfriend and I stayed on recommendation from a Canadian friend. We chose to go with a 3-night package, which included a 3-course dinner at a lovely restaurant nearby, use of kayaks for 2 half-days, a picnic lunch, and even a bottle of wine! We found the place absolutely charming, Janet and John the perfect hosts, and the whole experience...

We stayed here the past two nights while exploring northern Cape Breton and we chose it because it was recommended by Fodors. The owners, John and Janet, are friendly and very informative. And meeting so many other travellers (there were 6 other couples there each night) was terrific. The Inn has great history and it is pretty conveniently located 7...

Four Mile Beach Inn was exactly what we had hoped for as a stop along our Cape Breton road trip. The Inn is nestled between the mountains and the sea and is steeped in history. We had the 3rd floor suite, which had both an outside stairway entrance, and an entrance from inside the house. The inn allows pets and...
