Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have recently stayed at the farmstay on 11-13 in September and had an amazing experience there. The Host, Robert, was very welcoming and made sure we had a great time. We were able to feed and pet lambs and chickens, and even collected fresh eggs. The house was well-maintained and comfy. Highly recommended.

Camped here for $35 per night. Was told we could not use the facilities, so were limited to a portaloo which ran out of paper and water. This was not as per our agreement on booking, but only found out after we paid upfront. As far as the farm stay aspect, we were vaguely pointed in the direction of one of the fields and told the cows are down there somewhere. Didn't see the host in the whole 3 days we were there.

We stayed at The Barn for 4 nights from 23 January 2023 and our family of 9 couldn't have been happier. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. High on the hill it looks over the property with its delightful views. Rob was so accommodating, providing all our children with a variety of experiences, with rides on the quad to round up the cows, tractor rides and feeding of the wide variety of animals. He involved the children in all the farm activities THANK YOU Rob. You can also camp there or park your van in a peaceful, tranquil and private setting. The farm is 5 minutes from Waitpinga Beach and 10 minutes from Victor Harbour so off farm activities are numerous. Overall, I can thoroughly recommend the Breakaway Farmstay for a great holiday experience and would give it 6 stars if possible.

No internet, Not even net as data works, Loud & Other useless noises. The place was barely cleaned , food tasted like aldi food & I can tell they don't care about us sleeping or what we are eating. It was smelly , smelled like raw wood & don't even start with the water quality

We took our 2 young daughters (3yr old and 1yr old) here for 4 days/3 nights. It was a fantastic time, very relaxing and the children loved getting to feed and pat the animals. The owners Rob and Tracey were fantastic hosts. Would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our weekend stay in the B&B. It was so relaxing. The B&B was so clean, the beds comfy and the breakfast provisions were generous. We travelled with friends who stayed in the Barn and the kids loved the animal feeding, the pool and generally be able to wander and play in the yard. Thanks for a great stay and we'll be returning.

We unfortunately had to cancel our arrangements due to COVID restrictions however Rob and Tracey were extremely accommodating and understanding and waived their usual cancellation fee. Based on other reviews we were really excited for our trip so hope to book again soon, virus permitting!

My friend and I recently enjoyed 3 nights at this venue. It was very comfortable in the B & B house. However, there are a few issues that should be made clear when booking. First and foremost you will have absolutely no phone or internet coverage at all. I was unable to make or receive calls and unable to use my tablet to do the work I needed to. The owner stated they had internet but was unwilling to let us use it. Whilst I understand this is a FARM stay, you would not think that being only a few KM’s from a main town that there would be no coverage. If you need to be accessible you will not be. Secondly, the website states there is a private pool. This is not the case. The pool is right next to the owners house and is overlooked by the owners kitchen and dining area. It is also a shared pool with anyone else who might be staying there - which could be anything up to and over 30 people if both houses are full and the campsite is utilised. I have attached a photo from the other angle than the one on the website. It was a lovely relaxing stay and very comfortable, however, I felt it important that the owner add this information to the website, hence why I am sharing.

Hi Kimmyinoz Thank you for your constructive review, Yes the best part about being in the country of Oz is being away from city distractions, Phone service is limited yes But Telstra does offer a service that does work on the property if it is needed. Also on our websites it is stated No wifi is available so that clears that up. Being a country BNB we pride ourselves on being positive , caring and sharing and guests being able to use the Heated pool is a great way of communicating this, we actively encourage potential guests to ask questions about our facilities if they have any, so there is no issues when they arrive or leave. we look forward to meeting more guests at Breakaway Farmstay. regards The Breakaway Team

We booked a 3 night stay for our three-year-old’s birthday as she had picked “animals” over the “beach”. We were initially unsure about not being at the beach but we are so glad that we picked the farm. We stayed in the spacious, spotless, two bedroom apartment which is located near the goats, chickens, ducks and basil the sheep, as well as a trampoline, swing and cubby house with slide. Every morning we watched the family of goats wander around their block feeding. Our little one loved hand feeding the animals every morning and cuddling the baby goats ( kids) as did we. There is no wifi and no phone reception which was exactly what we wanted, to disconnect from tech. Rob was always the gracious host, with darling Marley the resident pup always obliging an over zealous toddler who was besotted with her. Breakfast provisions are generous and of quality, with eggs from the farm “ladies”. Barely 10 minutes from Victor Harbour for tiny day trips. We look forward to being back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Rob and Tracey has a huge and beautiful farm in Waitpinga. They have heaps of animals wherein you can help feed sheep, goats and chicken and Marley, their very friendly dog, that you can play with. Their BNB is clean, modern and comfortable. We were surprised at how generous Rob and Tracey were with the breakfast provisions and the added bonus of wine, chocolates, fruits and juices. The price to stay is affordable especially with all that you are getting and as comparison to other BNBs and farmstays. They also have a game room and indoor pool that are open during summer. Even if it wasn’t summer, we got preoccupied with playing darts, enjoying the woodfire and the farm animals. We’ve also learnt more about animals thru Rob’s expertise. Hehe! Rob is very accommodating and is always happy to help with anything. We’re so glad we found this place and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much, Rob and Tracey! 😊
