Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed two nights at the Sugarloaf Hotel. We booked a standard room that came with two queen beds. Two large arm chairs with a round table and mini bar/kitchenette area was an added bonus. The only concern with our room was the hot water was very inconsistent in the shower both days. The hotel provides complimentary buffet breakfast, valet parking and ski/board lockers in a heated room. Few stairs and your at the lift to start your time on the mountain. We didn’t use the outdoor jacuzzi but it looked nice. The best feature of this hotel is their team! The ladies at the front desk, valet, wait staff at restaurant 45 North and the room service attendants were very pleasant and went out of their way to show appreciation to their guests! We truly appreciate this and the welcoming atmosphere! We hope to return! Take advantage of Boyne Rewards and visit the fresh donut shop.

The resort was in a great location with streams and rivers running nearby and creatin a spectacular view with foliage setting. The Skie lift to the top of the mountain was very refreshing and relaxing with great views of foliage and surrounding mountains. The service was great, and guests were treated with respect and dignity.

The staff were wonderful, and to visit off season gave this hotel a very laid back vibe. Late check out was a very appreciated option and late night when the village was empty, and the moon was out above the ski lifts. It was just awesome.

What a complete disappointment. Upon arriving to our room, we discover you have to climb this little, old wood, small spiral staircase to get to the bedroom. Dangerous to try to get yourself up the stairs, let alone your clothes/suitcase into the bedroom, so they do have a clothes dresser by the entrance door at the bottom of the spiral stairs. Staff said they couldn't offer me a room without the spiral stair case. We are here the first week in August 2023, the place is virtually empty and they wouldn't offer us a different room with no stairs to a bedroom Terrible customer service. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain the first night. After two calls to the front desk, they did get it to drain. The rooms were clean, but dated. The advertisement said there was a swimming pool at the hotel, but there is not one, only a hot tub. You have to drive down the road a ways and pay $12 per person to use it for the day. It was closed today. Many of the activities that we saw advertised for summer fun - ski lift, frisbee golf, mountain biking, and other activies were closed. Half of the restaurants on site and in the area are closed on Monday and Tuesdays. We checked out after our second night and going to stay somewhere else. Good bye.

This was a last minute booking as our previous place fell through. An overnight stop on our way to Quebec city. We received the warmest of welcomes by Kirstin and her colleague (sorry didn't catch his name) from the moment we stepped inside the hotel. We were delighted with our choice. We were given a lovely super spacious room for our family of 4. The hotel is spotlessly clean, couldn't fault it at all. Yes it is a little less modern but cleanliness and a friendly welcoming smile goes a very long way in our books. Thank you Kirstin for all the helpful info and just being a really lovely friendly person. They are lucky to have you. We would love to come back and stay in winter! We didn't use the hotel restaurant so can't comment on that. But we happily recommend the hotel itself. And what a location for skiers!

Easy check in & out. Nice easy access to the ski hill and ski lockers included. Unit was comfortable, clean and parking close by, just over priced at $366 night. The 2 hr wait for an overpriced $26 burger on a non crowded Sunday night at 45North Restaurant was a little ridiculous. $21 for three scallops! Spend the $21 on the mussels instead, much more fare. I'll be staying elsewhere in future.

Hotel is very underwhelming and needs to be updated. Food is mediocre. Friendly staff but customer service reps when trying to adjust booking due to illness were not understanding and acted with no compassion. I will never stay here again.

So comfortable and welcoming! Thoughtful touches everywhere. Wonderful staff. We had a 1br hotel room and shared it with our teen sons. Each boy had a bed: a Murphy and a sofabed. Everyone rested easy and the kitchenette was stocked with basic needs. Great breakfast buffet in 45 North included. Highly recommend!

We were here for a wedding and really enjoyed the staff, the rooms and the area. I would like to recognize Hunter and Adam at the front desk. They are polite, friendly and very helpful. They provided some great suggestions on things to do a places to eat. They made our experience that much better.
