During our stay at our house in North Uist, we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary by going out to dinner. It was the first time we had been to Hamersay House. We were very pleased with our visit. The dinner was delicious, well cooked and the service was good,. The food was freshly cooked to order, the staff were...

We arrived on a windy Sunday when everything else in twenty miles was closed, hungry and cold. First impressions were of a cosy hotel. We were given a warm welcome and checked in with no fuss. Great room - good size with king size bed, two easy chairs and tea/coffee making facilities. Also a good bathroom. Staff were really helpful...

We were on North Uist for a short stay, and had let the hotel know that we are vegan. We were worried they would not be able to provide food for us, especially in such a remote location, but they were amazing. We had a lovely selection of dinners to choose from each evening, and they went out of their...

Extremely clean and comfortable hotel. My room was spacious, warm, spotless and very comfortable. Everything I needed for a comfortable stay with a great breakfast. The room was very inviting with everything I needed at hand. Bathroom was small in comparison to the spacious room but it was adequate. Bed was as comfortable as my own hypnos, I slept very...

We received a warm welcome at this modern hotel in North Uist. On arrival we were advised how to book our ferry for the next day and Amy could not have been more helpful. A drink at the bar was just what we needed. We had dinner which was excellent, fresh mussels and a nice veggie curry, our host was...

I was disappointed to see that Langass Lodge was closed during my stay in North Uist in January 17. Langass I have written about before on this site and is on my list of Global favourite restaurants. Therefore with Langass closed where else was there to go on the Island to try and match the same atmosphere, superb food and...

This was my 5th visit to the island and my first stay at Hamersay. I had always 'lodged' at Langass and I admit that I was worried that Hamersay would be no comparison. I was wrong. Loyalties disappeared the moment we stepped inside. Like Langass, we were instantly made to feel at home. Abigail and her team gave us the...

This was a return visit to the hotel and for dinner. Our last visit had been over a year ago when we had enjoyed a bar snack one evening. On this occasion we eat in the restaurant. The food was of the highest standard and the service was equally good. We were keen to sample the food as the hotel...
