An excellent base while visiting the Western Isles. Accommodation clean, very comfortable and very well equipped. Owners pleasant and helpful. Reasonably priced. A real home from home. Will definitely return.

We stayed in the Smiddy Apartment at Lionacleit Self Catering which is on the Benbecular central Island of Uist. The apartment is really a self contained bungalow and it is homely, spacious and was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you need. Despite the very variable weather in November we were snug and warm and would...

This was the perfect place to stay on Benbecula. Not very far from the airport, close to shops and a petrol station and well placed to visit North and South Uist as well as Benbecula. There is well organised parking and the owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. I stayed in the Chalet which was beautifully appointed and...

Our second visit to The Chalet. Bill and Sarah have created a real home from home. Comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, 2 TV's! What more could you want? A great base to explore the wonderful Outer Hebrides, we hope to come back again soon.

Immaculate, spotlessly clean cottage. Very well furnished and set up. Loved the cosy peat fire and the owner kindly made the fire up for us both nights. Owners helpful on local area advice and efficient with booking.

A friend and I spent nearly a week in the Smiddy as a base for exploring Benbecula and the Uists. It was very well equipped, comfortable and clean and made an ideal base. Good kitchen. Free wi-fi. Only quibble - it's not easy to spot and could do with a sign at the road edge. We drove past it twice. ....

Our first visit to Benbeccula and we stayed in The Chalet for a week ,Bill and Sarah's attention to detail is amazing. The finish in the bathroom and kitchen were first class, comfy bed and very clean. A lovely warm refuge. Even provided a range of DVD's for those occasional wet days you get in the Outer Hebrides. We enjoyed...

I spent a week in October 2014 at the smallest of the three Lionacleit Self Catering cottages, "The Chalet." The cottage was warm, clean and spacious and was extremely well stocked with cookware, cutlery, etc. The kitchen had both a dishwasher and a clothes washer, all in good condition and easy to use. The owners were very pleasant and helpful....

This was an ideal base for 3 days travelling around the islands. We stayed in the chalet and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable and loads of room to spread out. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The whole thing was a very pleasant surprise and great value for money. Thanks Bill and Sarah for your hospitality.
