We stayed for a week from September 17-24. Hired a car (essential, or you would be stuck in the hotel, as public transport isn't there) from the airport in Olbia. About 45 minutes to hotel, but you need a good map or satnav. Be aware that a lot of the roads are very twisty, especially in the interior of the...

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Costa Smeralda, yet be within reasonable reach (if you have a car and GPS...), this is the place for you. Accommodation is in bungalows, each sharing two apartments with a separate access. The resort is built into a hill, meaning you have to walk a bit through...

We stayed here for 5 nights of our Sardinian honeymoon, and it was gorgeous! So relaxing and peaceful. The hotel layout makes everywhere feel really private, and you're surrounded by gardens. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times, and had delicious fresh dishes. The pool is 'refreshing' (aka, freezing!) but beautiful and impeccably maintained. We also enjoyed taking...

This was our second visit to the Aldiola. The setting is absolutely beautiful and peaceful beside a lake but within reach by car of great beaches and countryside. We arrived extremely late, but staff there to welcome us, receptionist - Andrea (I think); she was also very helpful in arranging a boat trip for us. Would definitely recommend

We stayed for several days at the start of a longer holiday in Sardinia. The location is very isolated (especially as it's not possible to completely circumnavigate the lake, so there's no passing traffic). Rooms are laid out a little like a safari lodge - dotted about the hillside in pairs, with big spaces between them. Our room didn't have...

It is an exceptional place to go if you want to relax. We were there for a week, which was enough to visit the most interesting places in the north of Sardinia, including some of its great beaches (car required!). And we definitely recommend half board, because the food of the four-course menu was just excellent, varied and absolutely cheap...

We stayed here for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time: very good and varied (sea)food, very friendly personnel, clean pool with amazing views, rooms were clean with a warm atmosphere. We came here to rest at the resort and discovering (by car) the north-eastern part of Sardinia. If you are looking for the night-life, don't go here. It was...

If you like music and games around the pool this hotel isn't for you! Sitting by the lovely pool with only the sound of birdsong was bliss. The accommodation is a bungalow, with lovely Sardinian furnishings, comfy bed, good shower, air con and a fridge. There is also a coffee maker. If like us you are an English tea drinker...

At the start of our holiday in Sardinia, we stayed at the Hotel Aldioli for three nights and ate in for all three nights. The food was excellent and the recommended wine also very good. The staff could not have been friendlier and the view over the lake from the superior room was stunning. The published photos are slightly out...

We stayed at Aldiola for three nights and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere here. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always attentive and happy to have a chat. The private bungalows are modern and comfortable. The on-site restaurant was very good. The pool area was fantastic and had views of the surrounding areas and nearby lake. Would definitely stay...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The charming Aldiola Country Resort is surrounded by centuries-old trees, and located on the hills overlooking the Liscia Lake, close to the Sardinian Emerald Coast. The panoramic swimming pool and the various shady spots offer moments of total relaxation. The architectural features of the Gallura region are reflected in the lay-out of the hotel rooms. Each room offers spectacular views of the lake. Furnishings are in the authentic Sardinian style. Particular care has been paid to the choice of wood and ironworks for the furniture and fixtures, textiles and ceramics, all crafted by the finest Sardinian artisans. Both the restaurant and the rooms are set among the local shrub and flowers, carefully trimmed and illuminated at night to create a beautiful atmosphere. The Aldiola restaurant offers the best choice of regional and international cuisine, with 2 types of menu that change daily. The finest traditional dishes are enhanced by local ingredients and flavours. The house wine, from the family vineyard, is a fine, fresh red wine. The restaurant also stocks the best known Sardinian labels. The surrounding area is rich in extraordinary sites, both natural and archaeological. A short distance away, on the shores of the lake, are numerous 1000-year-old olive groves and amazing granite rocks. You can also admire monuments of the Nuragic age. Aldiola Country Resort is also the ideal starting point for nature walks and more challenging trekking excursions. ... more   less
