Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place. Slightly overwhelmed by the cruise ship with 2/3 of the towns population equivalent aboard. Good local draft beer ((but pricey) and fish and fries. Clean and neat with a friendly staff, speaking good English. Nice visit and experience

Waiting long time for our food and then when good came with French friesthat look like made by 10 years old kid. I complained to the waitress and then she talked to the chef that says this is how they should look. I spoke to the chef personally that also insist that this is how the should look like....

Big surprise when on the third day for an extra shot of espresso for my cappuccino I had to pay extra. The tiny cappuccino cost double. Extra shot of espresso should be free or for a small fee only!!!!

This is one of the main “luxury” hotels in Greenland. Expect to pay at least three hundred dollars a night for a double room in the off season. It is super nice compared to most hotels in Greenland but I swear the rooms are almost the same as Hotel Arctic down to most details except this property is smaller because Qaqortoq gets fewer tourists at the moment. The only difference is the location is in the far south of Greenland and there are few things to do. The restaurant is just average for dinner but the breakfast is great. I preferred going to Pissifik or neighboring Brusegni to pick up some ready to eat food instead. The staff will pick you up from the harbour and they make every effort to accommodate you. I needed a massage and they arranged it for me with the owner of the local skincare company, Inuacare. I highly recommend stopping by the shop or buying her products from the hotel because they’re amazing. I will definitely stay again should I ever visit south Greenland. The helicopter ride back to the airport in Narsarsuaq currently sold by Disko Line but operated by Air Greenland was really fun too.

We arrived by cruise ship and had a walk up through the town to the top of one of the hills. On the way back we came upon this hotel and stopped in past and had a real nice lunch. The burger and fries were freshly cooked and the wife had a pasta with smoked salmon, both dishes were very good. The staff were helpful and the restaurant very clean throughout. The toilets were spotless cannot rate this place enough on the cleanliness side. Out the front of the restaurant there is a nice balcony that you can sit and have your meal. Certainly a restaurant not to pass by if you are in Qarqortoq

Perched high above the harbour at Qaqortoq the hotel offer magnificent views from its high vantage point. The ambience of the hotel was great and underpinned by cleanliness of the rooms and general public areas. The breakfast and dinner menus were comprehensive for South Greenland and the food plentiful and well presented. One aspect that was disappointing was the variation in customer service at reception. While the vast majority of staff were friendly, provided great service and couldn't do enough to make the stay as pleasant as possible there were occasions where other staff were merely going through the motions and this aspect was concerning. On one occasion staff continued to hold discussions among themselves while guests queued at reception. It seemed that guests were an interruption to those conversations. Wi-fi was an issue for part of the stay however staff did there very best to keep guest up to date with the progress in repair.

We stopped for a lunch and a beer on a cruise. Service was very friendly and the view was terrific. The food was mostly typical North American comfort food and just okay. But we were disappointed that there was no obvious local food. Fish, for example, was almost totally absent from the menu. If you stay in the hotel, the rooms facing the sea have superb views when it is not foggy. The hotel also has self-catering apartments and there is an excellent supermarket next door, so for long stays this might be ideal.

I sailed into Qaqortoq from Scotland. I stayed on my boat, but spent a fair bit of time at the Hotel, sitting in their restaurant and using their wifi. When you buy something, you get a little chit that allows you one hour of wifi. It's a pain, but seems very common in Greenland. Anyway, the food is decent and the people are very nice. Great views of the harbor and nice, clean bathrooms. It is a well-run establishment with a very professional staff. If I needed a place to stay or eat in Qaqortoq, I wouldn't hesitate to return.
