We stayed 4 nights in an Ocean View room (3rd floor walk up) which was very nice. Room was up-to-date with modern bathroom and furnishings. I like a firm mattress but must confess that this one was a bit too firm. Wi-Fi excellent. Hot water seemed to come and go within minutes while in the shower but was OK. The place is built on a hill so you have to walk down to the breakfast restaurant, pool, and beach. Fine if you are able-bodied but if not, they can transport you by golf cart. Breakfast buffet was standard fare with Thai and Western options, omelette bar, etc. with nice view of the sea and plenty of seating. They only have 1 coffee machine which causes a wait sometimes just to get a cup of coffee and while we were there, it went out of service 2x during the breakfast hours. Pool was very nice and they provide very large towels. Beach seems to have been washed away (photos on their website are no longer accurate) so now there really is just a narrow strip of sand. You step down from the pool area onto that sand and in 10 feet you are in the delightful sea. But, the narrow beach has no room for sitting. We liked the area of the hotel since it was quieter than the rush of Chaweng and there are several local restaurants within walking distance (tried 3 of them for dinner and our favorite was Khao Kate). Easy to flag down a songthaew (pickup truck type transports for rides to other places. Would I stay here again? Yes. Overall, was a nicely maintained reasonably priced place.

Nice gardens. Pleasant and helpful staff . Great view from our bungalow at the beach front. Room large and comfortable in need of some updating/redecorating, but not a major issue. May be the time of the year or the weather conditions but the beach has vanished! The sea is pounding on the walls of the hotel , half have crumble into the sea. The small portion of beach on the right side is very dirty ( plastic, ropes ,branches etc.) But my main complain is the restaurant. The worst I have eaten in Samui. The green curry is watery , lucking body and substance, the sticky rice and mango is a joke, most of the thai dishes are bland and without flavour. Dishes come all at different times. By far the worst restaurant I have been in Samui! Nothing happens in the evenings, the opportunity for maybe BBQ 's on the beach/pool with a thai show is lost. The restaurant is mostly empty . Not surprissed! The hotel is rather isolated, which after visiting Chaweng may be a good thing ! But you will need taxis to go anywhere.!

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel as a family and was very much taken care of very well from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. CHECK-IN was very smooth and staff was very attentive. We made some requests during booking and the staffs did their best to grant our few requests which we were very grateful for. They recognised that coming from a long flight that we were very tired but made the check in quick and the process very smooth. A refreshing cold face towel and a welcome drink was given. FACILITIES: - The hotel have an outdoor pool that has a spa area and a kiddies pool. A pool bar and beach equipments like kayak, stand-up paddle board and many more for hire for a very very minimal fee. The pool is by the beach. The beach area is kept clean twice daily. - The gym is decent size with reasonable gym equipments and hand weights. Water is provided in the gym. - The hotel have a Spa/ Massage . - The front desk serves as concierge too and they helped us with all tour enquiries. They extended help and suggestions to make sure we got our answers. They were always ready to assist. However, plenty of your companies along Chaweng , Lamai beaches and other busier towns. - The hotel offers a golf buggy to help with luggages. ( we were able to get a ride too 😊) TRANSPORT: - Airport Transfers can be arranged directly with the hotel. However, you can also arrange transfers at the airport. - You can opt to just hail an open tuk-tuk for 50 THB / per way . - Taxi’s are available too. HOUSEKEEPING: Made our rooms exceptionally. Always kept them cleaned and refreshed and we were very well supplied with daily toiletry items and attentive to all our requests. And water has been provided daily. ROOM SERVICE: They do offer but we opted to go to the restaurant. SURROUNDINGS: Nora Beach Resort & Spa is very well positioned. It’s away from the busy Chaweng area / Lamai area, Fisherman’s Village and others but within reach should you want to explore these places. There’s a laundromat everywhere should you not want to use the hotel laundry service. Convenient stores nearby and a few eateries across the road too. It’s not far from the airport too but it was so quiet we did not hear any noise. RESTAURANT: We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant , from breakfast, lunch and dinner whenever we can. The staff’s we couldn’t fault any of them. They were attentive to our needs and dietary needs and remembered them from day 1. They all speak reasonable English and they are a true credit to this hotel. Many wears a “ trainee” badge ( special mention to Bibi, Ahm, Martin and others. The quality of services they have extended seemed like they have been doing it for years. Hats off to F & B Managements ( including floor supervisors) for training them well. We also organised a Dining under the stars on our last night to celebrate my husbands birthday. Thank you again for setting up a beautiful table, truly overwhelmed how every detail discussed was executed. And again, being flexible with the menu to direct food allergies. ENTERTAINMENT: A special mention to Abel and Aloha, an amazing duo musicians who livened up the nights during dinner. From singing the classics to the demand of todays generation. Thank you for your gift of music and for your warm hospitality everytime someone walks in. BREAKFAST: - Amazing daily range breakfast with continental, Asian , hot and cold selections. Barista is well trained. My husband and 2 kids did the Cooking Class and had an amazing time with the head chef. It was private and each has a sou chef . They ate what they cooked, received an apron and hat and certificate. It was well laid out. But most of all, they had fun. To the management of Nora Beach Resort & Spa, ( esp to Michelle Suwannasri) our family thank you so very much for making us feel very welcome and making us feel at home. It was like leaving a family after 7 days. We hope to be back the next opportunity.

Really expensive for a nothing but ordinary breakfast. We landed on koh samui last night and needed a place to have breakfast, until we grounded on the island. We ended up paying over 2000 baht for a breakfast with coffee, omelet, dry bread and some fruit.. NOTHING SPECIAL AT ALL! We will for sure not eat here again and have the feeling of getting totally ripped off, for a standard breakfast. We can't recommend for anyone !

The photos of this resort that we saw , quite deceiving does not show the steep incline from the reception to the bottom where we stayed or the beach which really was not that nice .We had to due to mobility problems call out for a golf cart to take us up top. We are not pool people , love the beach to walk along and that was non existant. No crystal clear water and water quite dirty at times. Lovely outdoor dining area , breakfast buffet to suit all tastes with an egg station . The menu we did not like or the food . I don't know why but the Asian food a lot different to what we have had in other areas of Thailand. We were given coupons for a free lunch or dinner as per package but we hardly used them the menu was limited so we decided to eat in Chaweng town a few kilometers away, cost 200 baht by tuk tuk or taxi . The town has a lovely modern shopping centre and a vast array of restaurants .Ate at the Australia Bar ..great ribs ! And one further down can get a Roast dinner or Yorkshire pudding .We did not try that but is on trip advisor as 5 star rating. The Villa itself is quite dark inside , our pillows gave us headaches every day , not at all comfortable or was the bed. We stayed in an Ocean View ..great view . I certainly would not like to be there in high season , does not look like a lot of loungers around the pool. To finish up the resort is quite average , I think we would have been better off in the quiet location of Bophut , loved that area with the Fishermans Village . Did not appreciate the lack of professionalism with my denim jacket gone missing from the wardrobe .It was the only jacket i had on our whole trip through Europe and rest at this resort . In all honesty we ticked a box but much prefer Phuket.

Food is pretty bad at the resort. The worst I have ever experienced. Dinner menu is limited and the food is cold and hard as a rock. Breakfast is also not what you would expect at a resort. Totally disappointed!

Stayed 10 nights and it was the BEST service we’ve experienced from start to finish. Everyone was warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough. Hotel facilities and the site was awesome. Our villa (7010) was in the most ideal position…..beautiful, private, yet 20 paces from the dining site. Food was great and plenty of choice. Thank you for our stay !!!

There are good arguments to stay at Nora Beach Resort but also reasons to reconsider: PRO: Complementary pick-up service from/to airport, gluten free bread at the breakfast-buffet, friendly and helpful service, Cha-Cha at the pool-bar, well maintained garden and greenery, peaceful location.... CON: The resort and above all the rooms need to be modernized (the years clearly show), not enough sunbeds at times (and it was not even high season), the army uniform of the personnel (change them into something appealing and pick friendly colors), the beach (the Norther part of Chaweng beach is not the famous sandy one, you have to be careful where you step, otherwise you suffer from cut toes like we did), the restaurant is average, no real "wow"! Since Covid-times are over and tourists are back, use the money wisely and invest into the future of the resort.

Amazing resort! We stayed for five days with my family. We stayed in two Beachfront Pool Villas and waking up to sunrise, having almost your own private beach, gave a nice sense of tranquility and peace. The resort is amazingly located, not far from the busy area of Chaweng Central. The employees are super friendly and helpful. If I had the time, I would stay longer. small points of improvement: - more stable WiFi (but I guess in some other countries we are spoiled) - variety in breakfast - more complementary shuttles to Shaweng Central I would definitely recommend this resort to others!

This was our second visit to Nora Beach; the last one was back in 2017. The resort have an absolute stunning location with a long, beautiful beach. The water is shallow and warm. It gets five stars for the location. We opted for the Nora Villa with ocean view. Straight away, we noticed that unlike many others, the owners of this resort have not used the pandemic to refurbish. That is really a shame, because the resort was already in need of some TLC the last time we were here, and six years later, it looks worn down. The furniture and surfaces in our villa looked very dated; the same can be said for the communal areas, in the pool you can see tiles missing etc. The overall service is good, but some of the staff have a difficulties communicating in English. We were there early in the season, so it is possible that this was just start- up problems. Food is still good, but the breakfast buffet did not have the same spread as in 2017. Again, this might be because it was early in the season and the resort was not running at full capacity. They have moved the gym from the old location by the pool and up to a room by the reception. We checked it out once, and it was about 34 to 36 degrees in there. No AC on. We asked the staff if it was possible to run the AC. They were very reluctant, to say the least. If we called before we wanted to use the gym, they could try to start the AC… So if a functioning gym is important to you, you should look elsewhere. They market the resort as 4- star, and that is probably right, but only just. If the decay continues, they will be at the 3- star level within a short time. That would be a shame, because it deserves better. As it is now, there are better options on Samui for the price they are asking.
