The best resort in Koh Samui. Everything about our stay was perfect, but the staff made it 100/10. The friendliest people we’ve met in Thailand work here and made our stay so much more than just a resort.
My partner and I stayed at Banana Fan Sea for 5 nights, we had another hotel booked in between but came back to this resort because we loved it so much, after 5 nights we still didn’t want to leave!!
The restaurant 10/10, rooms 10/10, and service 100/10. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They are incredibly kind, thoughtful, warm and welcoming, and always smiling. Special thanks to Tom for your constant friendliness and helpful recommendations on the area, Yut for your big big happy smiles everyday, Tarn from the restaurant for being so sweet and kind to us, Sai and others for making our room so nice to come back to everyday, and Bill for his appreciation for fine art and Bob Dylan😉 So many more staff to thank, we appreciate you all. We spent 5 nights at Banana Fan, treated ourselves to a villa on the beach for our anniversary, there are only 3 villas, so we were lucky, you can literally walk out of your villa to the sand, via a private entrance. Instead of using a banana lounge on the beach, we used our private deck and private pool overlooking the beach, as well as swimming at the main pool and beach. The staff are so friendly, the rooms are lovely and clean, facilities at the resort are great, has a gym, the restaurant and bar has great food and drinks. We attended the Monday night BBQ which is a smorgasbord of delicious food and tables are set up on the beach. Loved it! This part of Chaweng beach is in a great location, the sand is white and clean and the water is crystal clear. Will be back again one day for sure when the world is back to normal.

Our stay at Banana Fan Sea was simply perfect and I really cannot fault anything about it.
The staff were some of the friendliest people I’ve come across during our travel around Thailand and our 4 night stay here has been the highlight for me.
We booked a deluxe double room which apon arrival we were lucky enough to receive a room just metres away from the pool and beach area. It was a ground floor room with a small terrace, comfy bed, beautiful furniture and stunning bathroom.
The pool area is also gorgeous. You have the luxury of being able to step onto the beach from the restaurant or over look it from the infinity pool whilst ordering drinks from the pool bar.
I was initially concerned after reading reviews that the pool bar and restaurant are overpriced. However, you pay a premium for the luxury of being able to sit and have everything brought to you whilst enjoying stunning views of Chaweng beach. Yes it was pricier than food and drink up the road at nearby bars, but if you want to sit by the pool and order food quality food, I don’t think you can criticise paying for the privilege.
We stayed over Christmas so on Christmas Eve the staff had arranged a Christmas meal with entertainment for an extra charge which we chose to attend. Again the staff cannot do enough to make you feel at home and they really did just that!
They also brought me a birthday cake the following day after a little prompting from my other half that it was my birthday. They also went above and beyond by decorating the room to make it extra special.
The location is perfect also! Just a 15 minute walk from all the bars and noise but far away enough to not hear it from your room. We hired a ped from reception for a day and checked out the other side of the island. Another way they make your stay super easy!
I really don’t have a bad word to say about this resort and would come back in a flash!

From the minute we arrived we were welcomed with such warmth. The service here is 5 star, the staff here treat you as if you are the only guests at the hotel, from remembering your names and asking how you are, to pouring your drink for you and taking your picture, there was nothing we could fault. The hotel is positioned close to many bars and restaurants, however when inside the grounds of the hotel itself its so peaceful and relaxing. The beach and the infinity pool are so clean and the restaurant provided tasty dishes at a reasonable price for the quality and service you receive. Definitely choose this hotel !!!

Our third visit to Banana Fan Sea was the first after the refurbishment of the resort and we were happy to see the result. Very nice indeed ! However, the staff is still the reason why we return to Banana Fan sea. All smiles and helpful throughout the day and night. The location was the reason why we initially chose Banana Fan Sea a few years ago, and we still love to have the beautiful and well kept beach on one side and the shops and restaurants on the other.

We arrived after a long journey to a lovely welcome from the front desk staff. We were given cold flannels and a drink whilst we checked in. We were then escorted to our room and shown everything in it and how it worked and what was what around the mini bar. This was most useful. The room itself was fine with a large comfortable bed a fridge, kettle, hairdryer dressing gowns, torch, slippers and umbrellas. The air conditioning was superb. The bathroom was lovely with a great rain shower as well as a hand held one. There was a range of toiletries provided which were excellent quality. We were in room 205 which was ideally placed for the pool beach and restaurant. To be fair though all rooms were close by. The pool area was great and the view stunning. The beach was amazing and there is direct access to it from the hotel. The breakfast was superb with a great choice and all very fresh indeed. The service was outstanding throughout the hotel. In particular Bill and Dome made us really welcome and we enjoyed their activities very much especially the Thai cooking lesson. We ate in the restaurant and had lunch there and again the food was outstanding. Overall this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. A boutique of brilliance. This is our second stay at this hotel not just because if it's location, cleanliness and service but the staff really make this resort. They are cheerful and freindly every hour of every day and they just can't do enough for you. It's right on the beach with ample private sunbeds has a new pool bars at the front and rear of the resort and the best showers I've ever encountered in a hotel. They have a notice board in reception with photo's of guests that have returned for multiple visits and it is always full which says a lot.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a deluxe room. Rooms are great and recently renovated but there is limited storage. Breakfast is good but nothing special. Service during the day at the bar & restaurant was slow. Staff are friendly. The main disappointment is the hotel allows the reservation of sun lounges around the pool, with all of them reserved by 8.30am! A number of them remain unused by mid morning which should not be allowed. There should be signs up saying reserved seats are not allowed & towels will be removed. Hotel is in a good location with lots of nice restaurants nearby.

We’ve been traveling around a lot in Asia and I have to say that Banana Fan Sea is by far the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We felt in love with that place and as we felt so confortable and mostly like we were home so we decided to extend our stay here and skip our last destination in Thailand.
We had a really warm welcome by the staff and mostly Aoy, who made sure that our stay was perfect and full of lovely memories. Thank you so much Aoy for your help, time and kindness.Prior our arrival, Aoy and her team prepared a special surprise for us as we were celebrating our anniversary.
Rooms are spacious and super clean with a design bathroom. All amenities needed are in the room from sleepers to toothbrush. Most of the rooms have a balcony where you can relax at the end of the day : enjoying the weather and looking at the sunset. Few walks away and you’ll find a pretty and clean infinite swimming pool with sun bed along the pool. Direct view to the beach which also have a lot of sun beds for you. The hotel also provides you beach/pool towels :).
As for the breakfast, it is a buffet with a lot of food and fresh fruits : a great way to start your journey. Enjoying the view with a good breakfast.
Banana Fan Sea team are super nice and always willing to help. They really made you feel like family. Special thank you to people who made are trip unforgetable and who were always by our side, helping us : Aoy, Bill, Phu, Teng ! Thank you guys so much : Best team ever !
I highly recommend this hotel. You won’t regret it and will feel in love like we did and willing to come back again !

Just returned from a 2-week holiday in my second home, the wonderful Banana Fan Sea Resort! Again in my favorite room 210! This time my husband could come too after he had not been there for 5 years, I was there for the 4th time. Last year the hotel was partly under construction, but now all the work is finished and it is so beautiful! The garden, the new restaurants with delicious food, special dinners and bbq's on the beach, every morning a full breakfast from fresh fruit(juices) to dimsums, noodle soup to bread and much more to enjoy and taste. The infinity pool is located next to the beach, deck chairs are on the beach and in the area around te pool. The always friendly staff is nothing too much to make you happy!! An absolute must, with or without children! Dear friends, see you next year!!
