The Hyatt Regency Koh Samui garners acclaim for its plethora of amenities, such as multiple pools and varied dining options, although guests suggest there's room for enhancement. While the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and spaciousness, some guests report disturbances from noise and mosquitoes. Opinions on its secluded yet convenient location are split, but the hotel's atmosphere is universally lauded for its welcoming vibe and meticulous design. Despite the high praise for cleanliness and service, a number of guests feel the prices do not match the value, citing the costly dining and inconsistent service.

We were so privileged to have stayed at the stunning Hyatt Regency Koh Samui for 6 nights.

After a short ride from the airport we were greeted at the impressive minimalist lobby overlooking the sea. A chilled lemongrass tea was served as we checked in with a very friendly team.

We initially had room 331 which was great but General Manager Adrian kindly upgraded us to a spacious Regency Suite (317). The room was very contemporary, elegant and had a big balcony that overlooked the gorgeous landscaped gardens.

A Nespresso machine, well stocked minibar and the huge bath tub were great amenities to this special Suite.

The swimming pools are stunning and amongst the most beautiful we’ve ever seen but be aware they don’t have proper stairs to get in / out so they won’t suit those with mobility issues.

Breakfast was served at Yangna Cuisine which offered an extensive Asian and Western selection. Coffee took a bit longer than usual but the hotel was addressing this challenge with the team and we noticed improvement as days passed.

This is a brand new property and nobody should underestimate the massive task of opening such a high-end resort in the middle of a pandemic.

It was very reassuring to see Adrian very visible making sure that everyone had a nice time. During our stay a new F&B Director started who was also very friendly engaging with guests and spotted exploring different ways to enhance the offering of this spectacular 5-star property.

We travel extensively and always believe the staff are the ones that make the difference in every hotel. We came across many nice people but Jane and Gina at Yangna stood out and most importantly, Thanakorn (Don) at the pools. He was a real star and a true ambassador to the hotel. He offered us iced water, fresh towels, assisted with umbrellas, beds, food orders, etc always with a big smile! Thank you Thanakorn (Don) for all your warm and caring service.

Dinner at Sesun was good and they had a fire show and DJ on one of the nights which created an amazing atmosphere.

The location of this hotel may be a bit remote for some but this wasn’t an issue for us. If you want to relax this is the perfect spot for you and taxis aren’t expensive in Samui to get to attractions and restaurants.

All in all this was an excellent choice for our holiday and we return suntanned to the U.K. and with many memorable moments of our special time at the Hyatt.

5 min drive from Chaweng down town, this brand new hotel has a lot to offer and even more to come.

The entire staff, from the front office with their warm welcome and check-in experience (I will leave the surprise here!), to the Restaurants and Bars, they are always attentive and genuinely kind, making you feel truly confortable!

The hotel itself is designed to surprise! From the lobby to the seven others photogenic spots scattered around the property representing the local culture and landmarks of Koh Samui, it definitly picked up your curiosity right on arrival and makes you want to explore the whole hotel.

The beach appears to not be quite swimmable due to rocks, but both pools are huge, beautifully designed and offer multiple areas and levels for sunloungers where you can sip and chill.

Kube Bar was also an hightlight with an extensive list of well crafted cocktails and yummy snacks, all in a very nice musical ambiance (they have a DJ once every week as well!)

The Buffet breakfast has an extensive selection (Asian and European) of all the goods you need for a great starting day.

Last but not least... the room (King bed ocean view) offers a great sea view - the garden also full of plants and trees worth looking -
Made with taste, every little details are thought through and make the room a truly confortable place where you can chill and enjoy. Great pressure rainfall shower, cosy bathtub overlooking the outdoor scenery, confortable and large sofa, fluffy carpet, large balcony and more.

Special THANKS to Adrian the GM for such warm welcome as well as Frederic, the F&B Manager. Both of them constantly checking around and hanging out with guests making sure you got everything you need. True Hospitality!
Pepsi, from the Front Desk also deserves a special one for her kindness and smile.

We have been there twice already for all the reasons above! Hyatt Samui is as much a place for couples than families. For a long stay or simply a day by the pool or an entertaining evening between friends at their bar/restaurant.

Just a short trip (10 mins) from Koh Samui airport. Taxi cost is about 500 TBH. Very new hotel and very very warm service. Everyone greeted us with respect and a broad smile and very welcoming too. The staff were very helpful and very pro-active to our needs. The hotel has very amazing views in the morning and has 3 pools. Kids loved in the pool and 1 pool is veen fresh water with no chlorine impacting the eyes. Evenings at the pool they have a projector where movies are shown is a realy nice feeling to watch like an open air theatre. We had a family room whihc was upgrated from a partial to a full ocean-view. The view from the rooms was amazing. The rooms are good sized and the showering and bath tub are open plan facing directly to the sea. It feels like you are showering the open but with privacy :)
Rooms were very clean and everything was spot-on with a mini bar, iron and bluetooth speaker too.
The beds were comfortable, clean linen, comfy pillows, clean towels and we slept peacefully like a log.
The hotel has 2 restaurants which are comparatively pricey and your best bet it is take the taxi opposite the hotel or hire a bike (250 TBH) for a day and drive to the central mall which is baout 15 mins away.
Other places to visit are closeby and you can book a visit to the other snorkelling islands like Koh Tao to see the corals and amazing fish.
The hotel is tucked away in a quite place which is peaceful but if you want some noise and like to party you can stay a little central. On Saturday nights, the hotel even had some fire display and fire show whic was amazing.
We had a lovely stay and would surely come back again to this hotel. Highly recommended if you like peace and beauty.

First I want to write that hotel is located on the really close point from the airport, so the transfer is taking 10min by car.

The view from lobby and rooms is quite nice like paradise, infinity pool, beach etc.

The hotel is brand new and it’s big advantage.
We don’t feel that it’s crowded so time during the day on the pool/beach is super comfortable.

You can feel and see managers and chefs running around and checking/taking care that all is good.

But…

Half of the staff is not speaking English. Couple of times we had a problem to understand each other. They are acting typical like they understand you but in the end not.

House keeping is not cleaning like it should be.
The hairs were laying on the floor that’s why I knew it was not cleaned, Sand also.
Also Problem to schedule the time etc

Breakfast.
30min before closing they are starting to clean everything! It should never happen but here it’s everyday like that. So if you want enjoy late breakfast-you will not.
Not big buffer, staff is placing food on your plate ( big minus).

Club lounge.
Very nice place, nice kind staff, tasty food.

Unfortunately Hotel is 100% not family friendly
- no lift to the pool/restaurants so you have to carry stroller all the time…
- no toilet with changing diapers area (…)

In the end, you feel the management from Europe but still a lot to do.

Some of the friendliest and most helpful staff, all well informed and willing to find answers if you stretch their knowledge. F&B options are fantastic, with Sesun being a real stand-out venue down by the beach. The rooms are comfortable and well apointed and the various teams work well together to create a seamless and relaxing stay, even though I had to work for a lot of the time I was in-house.

You won't find a new hotel on Koh Samui with this much poise and promise. The GM and his staff are very much hands-on in their leadership. This is well-reflected at Hyatt Regency Koh Samui.

The Resort's location of Choeng Mon is prime coastal real estate, with spectacular views of the Gulf of Thailand. The hotel's hard product is equally impressive. The owner clearly spent money: Room fixtures are "Hyatt Regency SE Asia" in design, yet surprisingly "Park Hyatt" in quality. Also, and most importantly, the mattresses are sublime.

Staff at all levels are eager to engage and exceed guest expectations, and their hospitality typically lands without fault. We experienced an Ocean Front Villa and brought our two dogs, Mickey & Lily; (dogs are permitted in just this room category). It was such a five-star experience. Our dogs had their own branded welcome amenities and were treated as Hyatt Globalist members. They even had "Hyatt Regency Koh Samui” beds.

Elite recognition was fantastic at this hotel. Bottom line: This property "gets it" and will likely prove itself as a fierce contender in Samui's competitive new hotel market.

P.S. “Mickey & Lily” were always addressed by name during the Regency Club service. Their bowl of water, proactively chilled.

The Hyatt Regency Koh Samui was even more beautiful in person than it appeared on the website. My partial Oceanview room was prefect. The views were amazing while still proving good privacy. The shower bathtub setup was different but I loved it.

the breakfast buffet was extensive and everything was very good. The servers were on point with providing tea/coffee when needed and cleaning and turning over tables quickly.

The location is not in the main part of Chaweng Beach so you can not easily walk into town or outside restaurants. So that could be a negative if that's what you are looking for.

Firstly everything is brand new the design is maximum use of space whilst maintaining a feeling of space the bathrooms even standard rooms have huge walk in rain shower and a rapid filling tub even islands villas and suites are not so tastefully though fully designed and fitted out. The team always on hand to take care of anything you can want. Pools are the most beautiful in Asia the beach restaurant is best in samui food quality chefs multicultural and skills that provide for every taste as a lifetime titanium Marriott Hyatt globalist I have stayed in 100s of resorts and 5 star hotels honestly say this is the best and the only 10 out of 10 I have ever given in a review. Simply the best well done Adrien and team. !!

I just checked out of a one week stay at Hyatt Regency Koh Samui and had an incredible time there.
The hotel arranged all transfers for me for about 15 USD each way, and everything went smoothly. Service is incredibly proactive all around the property. Everyone seemed happy to work here and happy to help.
The hotel is about 10 minutes from Samui center. Grab cars were available for about 350 THB throughout my stay even if you had to wait sometimes 15 minutes for the driver to arrive, which felt ok considering you are staying on an island.
The food offering at breakfast and at the Regency was phenomenal. Quality was excellent, and extensive choices were available. This was likely the regency club with the most food options at night that I have seen in the past. Do note however that only wine and beers are available at night, no cocktails or liqueur.
Food at the restaurant was pricey for Thailand but the quality was incredible and all dishes were creative, which justified the price.
I was upgraded to a nice Regency suite with sea view and a large bathtub that could accommodate several people. Housekeeping was personalized and provided twice a day.
I can’t recommend this hotel hotel and would come back anytime.

+ very new and in good condition
+ amazing layout of room and terraces / pool landscape
+ above average attentive and friendly staff
+ good breakfast
+ clean and well-organized kids club
Good to know:
+ Beach itself is not ideal for swimming
+ lower pools are for adults only
+ if you like selfies, the infinity pool will be your spot
+ Location is a bit out of Chaweng, so you will need to use taxis / car
+ very close to airport, but no issues with flight noise
Can be improved:
+ Better (e.g. printouts) information about activities. We only found things by chance. The bbq night flyer was confusing.
+ kids pool and playground need some shade
Ideal length of stay:
5-7 days
Tips:
+ Pay a little bit extra for full sea view!
+ Would not take family room category with direct access to playground, since you will not have privacy
+ Would not take the room category with “plunge pool”. They seem to be at the back of the “hyatt club” with no view? There was a smell of drain in that area, when we walked past.
+ In Koh Samui there are some really incredibly good restaurants where you will also find very good wine.
