We have stayed a few Sala's over the years and wanted to try the one in Koh Samui.

It was a great decision and we had a fantastic week there.

We spent a few days in a garden pool villa and it was super spacious with a huge bedroom, gorgeous pool area out the back which got the sun in the morning and all the amenities you needed. We were given champagne and nibblies as the room wasn't ready on arrival which was a lovely touch.

The second half we upgraded to an oceanview pool suite and it was divine. We had a slightly obstructed view of the ocean but it was still fantastic to wake up an see the ocean and swimming in your own infinity pool overlooking the resort gardens and beach was amazing.

Housekeeping did an incredible job of keeping the rooms spotless with no trace of sand anywhere :-)

The staff were all wonderful and willing to assist with whatever you needed - be that calling taxi's or suggestions on where to eat etc.

The breakfasts were great and if you are in the oceanview rooms you get to enjoy breakfast at the beachfront restaurant - much nicer than the restaurant across the road. The food quality is the same, just the ambiance and the view. But you can order your breakfast to the rooms via room service which we did many times as it was so nice to sit by your own pool and enjoy a leisurely breakfast !

The beach was nice with the white sand but the water levels were pretty low and it was a bit silty on the bottom so I didn't go in the water there - only the pool. It's much better swimming the further you go down the beach towards Chaweng (more specifically near the Centara).

The beach bar is great for sundowners and we had a few friends in town so asked them to join us - it was great in one of the cabanas. We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious each time.

Overall our week stay was superb - there was nothing to fault and we would definitely return....it was definitely hard to leave!

Sala Samui is a beautiful resort with complete equipment and friendly service staff. There are free SUPs and canoes for rent, and you can also rent motorcycles through the resort. You don’t have to worry about having to press for documents! If you want to go to the outer islands, there are also tour operators stationed in the resort lobby. You can contact us directly. The resort pick-up and drop-off is very convenient, and the SPA facilities are also great. There is a 30% discount from 10 to 14 o'clock every day ~ In addition to the buffet, breakfast every day In addition, there are also daily specials that you can order at no extra price! The key point is that you will be asked to download the app when you check in. There is a message function in it, so you can contact the staff directly, which is very convenient. The only slight drawback is that the shampoo is so-so. It is recommended that you bring the shampoo you are used to.

SALA hotel set the bar high for us, that we might not try any other hotels now.  Staffs were very accommodating & friendly. They went above & beyond, shout out to Boky for looking after us when we had an emergency, staffs bellboy for always helping out when we needed to go out. Ploy, for the warmest welcome. Housekeeping staff were all very friendly as well, always smiling. 🙌🏼
Thank you to chef Mody for patiently teaching us how to cook thai food, it was a fun experience to be joining your cooking class. Yummy food it is!  😍The breakfast buffet was very good, different variety of food everyday. They served good quality food, all were tasteful. 🤤
Btw, the coffee was so good, iced americano FTW🙌🏼
Our room was to die for, nice view, ambiance was perfect. It really was relaxing from the bed, to pillows, shower, pool & the view, perfecto👌🏼
Just little suggestion w/ television, i think the wifi was slow when connected to tv. When we want to watch youtube & might add some netflix, for chill? 😉
But thats alright, not that big of a deal.
Overall, 10000/10. The best experience we had & service is exceptional. 💯 we will definitely be back. 😍

The Sala is a well-kept and modern hotel, which is sometimes getting old. The staff is friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the breakfast in the "Tent" is designed more to European tastes than to Thai ones. Asian specialties (fried noodles, etc.) are not available for breakfast. We knew this from other hotels, which is what makes Asia special for us. We can also get sausage, cheese with toast and fried eggs for breakfast in Germany. Of course, you can also order dishes from the menu, but Asian is the least of them. Unfortunately, the selections also include things that are not to everyone's taste. The staff is overwhelmed by the many à la carte orders, so the rest of the guests waiting for breakfast pounce on the 4 plates of sausage and 2 types of cheese and of the 3 types of bread there is only one left to choose from. The staff does not have time to replenish the missing products. What use is 5 types of juice if all the swing-top bottles in the cool box are empty or the juice glasses are missing.
We booked a SALA Oceanfront Pool Villa with breakfast and also ordered breakfast (floating breakfast) to the villa. It was very pleasant, but here too the offer was like in the "Tent". It took us a little longer to have breakfast and we went to the beach around 11am. Unfortunately, all the loungers were occupied at that time and there is seating at the pool that cannot be moved and some of which are directly in the sun without umbrellas. In our pool villa there is a comfortable bench, but also standing in the sun all day. There is no space for loungers in the shade. We got badly sunburned on the first day and actually just wanted to lie in the shade. The villa is certainly comfortably furnished, but there wasn't enough for a make-up mirror. We had to order this via the Sala app, which actually just annoys us because of the many messages (e.g. sexy fish today, order dinner). As a rule, our cell phones are switched off while on vacation, but we were advised to definitely use the app. Finally, we would like to mention the pool. A great pool with overflow, very large and also relatively deep. On the day of arrival we used it straight away, clear, warm water, just like we know from other hotels. The water overflow burbled away. But after a few days it stopped working because the water level was too low. Yesterday the water level was refilled. We don't know whether and how often the pool boy takes care of the pool or whether the pH value is measured regularly, but if the water temperature is around 29 - 30 degrees, regular checks should take place. Something else very positive. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the center of Chaweng, so we can at least enjoy the delicious Asian food in the city in the evening.

Without a doubt one of the nicest places i have ever stayed. The location of the Hotel is well placed in regards to the main street but just far enough up the road to remain quiet and relaxed. The cleanliness and quality of the fitout of the property was outstanding, the grounds were incredible and facilities amazing. The staff remembered our names, room number and drinks and foods we loved. They made us feel welcome and at home from the day we arrived. The room was white and beautifully presented, it was very well set out for the length of our stay with places for clothing and bags and bathroom, shower and bedroom all having their own space. We had a Garden Pool Villa which had its own pool which was a gorgeous way to unwind each night we returned from dinner. The food at the Buffet Breakfast was extensive with lots of options and all very fresh. The inroom dining also delicious. Pool Side dining was terrific with loads of choices. The pricing was incredibly competitive and we just had the most glorius relaxing stay, cannot find one fault but if i had to find one as there is usually no review witout i would say a full length mirror in our room would have helped for dressing but honestly that is a first world issue and really just so this review doesnt sound staged as i feel it is such a glowing review which is everything the hotel deserves. Well done to the Staff and Management outstaning Hotel definiltely 5 stars plus

Just spent two weeks here, and our expectations were fully met. The hotel was everything we were led to believe, and the stay was made more enjoyable by its staff. The hospitality provided by the hotel staff on the beach was exceptional, and the added touches of constant water, ice pops made from freshly squeezed fruits, cucumber sandwiches, and water melon was a really nice touch. Many thanks in particular to Mr Pond, Joseph, Woody, and the rest of the gang for making our days go by with such ease.
The housekeeping team was also exceptional. Our room was always cleaned to a high standard, and the daily teas for drinking in the evening and turned down beds was another added touch, which was very much appreciated.
The reception team were always on hand however, one slight criticism was that upon check in, we were not informed that the pool bar in the garden view section of the hotel was under renovation and was probably just an oversight and was only discovered on our first full day, but saying that, this did not in any way take away from the time we spent at the hotel.
A 15-minute stroll takes you into the heart of Chaweng Town, where there are a multitude of bars, restaurants, and shopping for all ranges of budget.
Unfortunately, the original hotel we had booked was then unavailable due to it being booked out by a YouTube influencer in its entirety, this was in no way the fault of our travel operator and to be honest the Sala Samui that was offered turned out to be a real bonus and we would highly recommend this hotel to any future travellers to the Island.
Thank you to the Sala Samui team for such a wonderful holiday.

Dear Sharon M, Thank you very much for your positive review, the team and I look forward to welcoming you back in due time for another relaxing and rewarding stay. The hotel is very stylish and the staff are polite but beyond that there are some flaws and personally this place unfortunately did not live up to its 5* expectations.

Our stay was for 7 nights in the ocean beach front room with private pool at the rear of the room. The room itself is chic but never felt fully cleaned with quite a few marks on the wall and the bath itself was also dirty around the outside, in need or some TLC as the cushions and walls looked a little dirty.

The private pool itself is nice but again backs onto a very noisy road, paying extra for the room hoping to have some chill time there but unfortunately it was very noisy and took away from the ambiance. It is also fully covered so you are not able to sunbathe.

The day and beach beds are dirty and haven’t been cleaned for sometime. Even though towels are complementary daily, they themselves never looked clean and it sometimes felt like you were asking for the world when asking for a towel.

The breakfast is good but the coffee and service were terrible. The staff were very polite but what doesn’t get explained is included with the continental breakfast, you can also select two “Al a Carte” breakfasts from a menu on the QR code. This wasn’t explained and the staff did not offer this to us until we observed other guests having these meals. They were nice but very small.

This is a resort which allows families which is something that we took lightly as it usually doesn’t bother us however (time dependant of course) there was no peace and quiet kids screaming and running around constantly which takes away from the 5* chill experience it perceives itself as (something to be aware of if you’re hoping for a luxury peaceful stay). I personally would not recommend for a couple

The bar staff are polite given other guests being very rude but service is sometimes slow and the beach bar buttons to have table service never worked. On the positive, the pool menu was always delicious so very happy with the quality of food delivered.

On the beach you are constantly pestered by thai business men and women outside of the resort to buy merchandise something that you don’t want when in a 5* resort and again takes away the ambience of being on a beautiful beach and something we never have to experience before when staying 5*.

The location is good in the heart of
Chaweng but paying through the roof for a room with a pool which backs onto a main road, doesn’t allow you to relax in it due to the noise of the cars etc. This again is something you are not told upon booking and definitely makes the resort a lesser star unfortunately.

They do have a spa onsite, however paying over 5500TBH for a massage would be insane. I don’t even pay these prices in the U.K. spas so definitely look for ones outside the resort.

I wouldn’t pay the money again to stay here. As much as we are enjoyed our stay, it wasn’t worth the fortune paid for the area and I would like to make other couples aware of this if you’re looking for a peaceful get away!

A 4* resort at best as it’s missing quite
a few elements of a 5*. Everything is a little over priced for what you get!

Dear Holliej159, Thank you very much for your generally positive review, though obviously we have taken well note of your constructive thoughts, and will use these for training and development purposes towards the team for improvement. Your travel did indeed coincide with the busiest season for family travel, July and August, which agreeably sees a larger number of these guests utilizing the resort. The room you bookes was an Oceanfront Garden Pool Suite, which for privacy purposes as based on ground floor has its pool at the back / shadow side of the building, for your and other readers' reference rooms on 2nd / 3rd floor of the property have a sun/ sea facing infinity pool, allowing for a sunnier experience! We are usually not the type to stay in the room/at the resort much but we booked a Garden Side room with a package with airport pickup, breakfast, sparkling wine, a traditional Thai dinner, and an excursion to the fishing pier through the resort. These were so much fun, we also planned an excursion to a private island through Sala, a trip to the elephant haven, and the cooking class at Sala’s Tent restaurant. We enjoyed the staff and amenities at the resort so much, we found ourselves at every happy hour, the restaurants for almost every meal, and the beach/pool of the resort. The resort is also across the street from a taxi pickup, a 24-hour convenience store with a wine bar attached, an ice cream shop, and a pharmacy—which all came in handy. The resort is walking distance to town and the staff was always available to help answer questions or even call places to make sure our arrangements were sound. They have an app with information, booking opportunities, “instagramable” locations on site, and a 24-hour chat. I loved the spa so much I visited twice in a week. I even used our room’s tub and epsom salts one night after a relaxing massage. The complimentary tea and snacks were always a refreshing snack. AND you can arrange same day laundry service so I left with a suitcase of clean clothes. This is hands down the best place to do Koh Samui!

I had very high expectations before arriving at Sala Samui Chewang Beach. Honestly, i cannot say enough wonderful things about all the incredible staff and the facilities at Sala Samui Chewang.

Our six nights felt like an absolute dream. Despite it being "off season" we had the greatest service you could imagine. Room service within 20 minutes., fresh towels on demand, laundry services, kayaks and paddle boards for free use on the beach - you name it Sala Samui Chewang has it! The staff were ALWAYS courteous and polite. The food was seriously excellent. Cocktails (a main priority) muddled or shaken with care - they consistently tasted terrific.

With very little notice, the excellent and helpful reception staff booked us cars (which were alarmingly affordable) so we could take day trips around the island. We went on a buggy tour, fed elephants, swam under waterfalls, visited temples and natural historical sites and ate meals overlooking some of the most spectacular views imaginable.

We will absolutely be coming back. Our room was beautifulclean and bright and the balcony pool was used EVERY DAY. The fact we could walk 50 metres to the beach was the icing on the cake.

This resort is beyond specatacular. The thing that elevates it beyond five stars are the truly incredible staff (not limited to, - but including) Chui, Da, Kwan, Ping and Chu and Erwin (the lovely Manager).

All of the gorgeous staff are really wonderful. X Thanks so much for having us team. Xxx R&M

This is my third visit to Sala Chaweng. I keep going back, because I don't think you will find staff as good as theirs anywhere else on the island. I have been to Samui a number of times, and have stayed all over the island, but from now on, I will not bother, as I have found the best in Sala Chaweng.

From Kate and the rest of the team in reception, to the staff in the Tent, to the day spa, Woody and the guys making our cocktails every afternoon, I cannot fault a thing. Every morning in the Tent, Oh, Ying, Amp and everyone else in the team made us feel so welcome - remembering our coffee and tear orders, and Ying even went out of her way to bring in a special tea for my mum who had been unwell.

We did a Thai cooking class with Chi , and her patience with our knife skills was very clear!! We were able to eat the dishes after the course, and there was so food, we shared some with other guests we met on the trip.

We enjoyed the Xmas buffet dinner, where every person was catered for (please send some of those chicken yakitori to Australia).

The rooms are an excellent size and house keeping does an exceptional job - I loved returning to the smell of lemongrass on a hot day.

Erwin and Nick have a well oiled ship running at the Sala and I can't wait to return.

Dear Alison, Nick and myself are indeed blessed with an amazing vessel, but our crew is indeed the icing on the cake, as is equally clear from your review! I will surely share this with them for encouragement, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near / distant future! Kind regards, Captain Erwin, equally on behalf of First Officer Nick and the entire Crew

Dear Guest, No difference, it is just that certain OTA agents use different names, depending on where they take their rate from (which they should not, but ok). A Garden Deluxe Balcony room does NOT have a private pool, is located in the garden wing of the resort (i.e. must cross road to reach beach), breakfast is served in garden wing restaurant called "Sexy Fish". Hope this helps? Kind regards, Erwin van der Veen General Manager

Dear Nesrin, In the best interest of all, restaurants are smoke-free, there are areas around the beach bar where smoking is permitted. inside the rooms guests are not allowed to smoke, but all rooms have either a balcony and / or pool / terrace where guests can smoke. Kind regards, Erwin van der Veen General Manager
