We took a one-bedroom unit with private jacuzzi and although the unit was very beautiful, the open air private jacuzzi was not heated and because it was raining for the duration that we stayed there, the water was quite cold and we could not use the jacuzzi at all. We thought we would use the jacuzzi with the main pool in the property which must have hot water but unfortunately the main pool did not have a jacuzzi at all. Inside the room a small sofa and foot rest would have been wonderful but instead the room had only one very uncomfortable chair. However, breakfast is super excellent, service is excellent, overall hospitality excellent.
Stayed at Anantara for 7 days for our 10 years anniversary. What can I say??? Amazing customer service, so accommodating and always at your disposal,. We stayed in the Plunge pool room and the room was kept so clean the entire time and was never short of anything in the room (actually never had to ask for anything, they thought of everything). Had dinner at the famous TREE TOPS restaurant too which was excellent. Had that grateful feeling at the end of our holidays that what we expererienced was very special indeed so thank you the whole team at ANANTARA LAWANA. Nicolas & Ijtihad.
It’s a breathtaking hotel, the staff is amazing !!! They couldn’t be more friendly. As soon you step in the hotel you are treated like royalty. The breakfast is soooooo nice, so many options, everything super fresh and delicious. The restaurant for dinner was also really good, the pineapple rice and the banana smoothie were to die for. They also offer a service that you can rent a motorcycle there, it’s more expensive than the other places but they take care of everything and you don’t need to leave any documents or credit card with someone that you don’t know. They even have a bag that you can use while you are there, that’s big and super cute. The room with the pool was an extra. In the beginning I didn’t know if it was worth it the extra money for this suite with the swimming pool, so glad that I did. My day was so much better because I knew it that I was coming back and I would relax there. Totally worth it !!! The floating breakfast was also a surprise, it’s not like the ones you see online, with a couple of stuff. It was super delicious and with a lot of options. We were super full and even left the plate of fruits on the room fridge so we could eat later. The açaí bowl was perfect, really the açaí taste (I come from Brazil so I know how an açaí bowl should taste and it was the real deal). The airport transfer deserves an extra compliment, the drives couldn’t be better, amazing drivers. The location is also super nice and easy to find and close to the main places in the island but with the privacy and noise free that you deserve to relax. It was super relaxing to wake up with the birds singing. Thank you so much…
Three nights here as part of a longer trip which also took in the Anantara Rasananda on Koh Phangan (which btw was fabulous.) The Lawana is well situated. A short five minute drive from the airport but you get zero airport noise during the day so no need to worry about that. At the Northern end of Chaweng beach, so close enough to travel into the nightlife if that’s your thing, but far enough away to be blissfully peaceful and quiet. On a nice private beach. Perfectly clear water and shallow and safe for swimming. It is situated on a hillside which is quite steep in parts. But for anyone who might struggle with this there are staff and buggies on call at all times if you need any help. And they were they within minutes if you called them. The pool and beach area have a good supply of sun beds and the staff there were very attentive, always appearing with a fresh towel just when you needed it. We used the restaurant by the beach for breakfast where there was a good buffet and also for lunch where there was a decent menu with ample choice. The cocktail bar at the Treetops restaurant was exceptional and whilst we didn’t get time to sample the Treetops restaurant, the setting looked sublime. Service throughout was excellent. I couldn’t fault anything or anyone. Good attention was also paid to hygiene in these difficult covid times. Rooms were excellent. Very clean with plenty of space and well tended daily by housekeeping. We had the lagoon access room so shared a good sized pool with 4 other rooms. But all were empty so we had this huge private pool all to ourselves. Fantastic! We had a wonderful stay and I have no hesitation in recommending the Lawana. Thanks so much to all of the team for a great short break.…
Mouldy rooms / unprofessional staff We have booked the hotel for four nights, as we have done it via their main website via the GIA Discovery platform, where it stated that we would receive a complimentary 30 minutes massage, along with airport pick and drop, along with Pre Checkin option. When we arrived at the hotel, the hotel did not have our room ready, and we had to wait for three hours until the official check-in time and were very skittish about confirming the complimentary massage appointment along with the transport. Once we had checked, the plunge pool room seemed to be in a proper state. However, there was an odd musty odour. We stayed for the first night, and the next day when I woke up, my allergies were all activated thanks to the strange smell and unhealthy air circulation in the room. I called the reception, and they sent someone to check on investigating; they found that the room had mould and was told they could not do anything about it. (EXCUSE ME???) They had done some air purification things, and the room smelled pleasant, but the smell came back after a few hours. The next day there was no hot water when we woke up, and we were told to wait for a couple of hours until the hot water was fixed, that’s, and there was nothing they could do. That is when I reminded them that this is a five-star resort. We are the customers; they are not doing us a favour. Hence they need to fix this as a priority. Finally, we got a call from the hotel manager, and they decided to move to a private villa which was a nice gesture for the remaining two nights and were provided with a complimentary 30 minutes massage which we were initially told was not included. This room was delightful everything was perfect. We should have been moved the very first night when we had complained and not left in a bacterial room. Thanks to this, my allergies have all flared up, and this caused and bacterial infection in my sinuses and throat for the rest of my holidays, and now I am on antibiotics, WHICH IS NOT OKAY. Staff Etiquettes: The staff at the reception did not seem professional at all, and they did not care if a customer was complaining; the response was (I AM SORRY) without an explanation or solution. They did not seem to have gone through proper hotel management training. Also, the entire hotel knew that we had issues with our room. Confidentiality should be of the utmost importance at any resort, especially a five-star resort. I must add that the manager, Nat was highly professional and helped us as best she could. Which we highly appreciate The Restaurant's staff and the restaurant manager Christian were excellent. Professional to the core and very polite, best food and drinks we have had. Highly recommend the Trees Top lounge and restaurant Overall, it is a lovely property needed to be appropriately maintained. The hospitality front desk staff required to be trained properly as they did not seem to care. Will we visit again? Not sure. The hotel will have to match the high standards the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are used to.…
