But disappointing performance for a 3 star, compared to its price (144 €/night in July). Decor of the old room, very firm mattress (back pain abstain), shower room with unseparated toilet, additional glass would be welcome in the shower so as not to flood everywhere. Cleaning not very rigorous (hair in the shower tray, spider above the shower room window). No air conditioning, no fans. The door to the landing does not soundproof at all (and no entrance lock). Breakfasts are not worth €15, even in a cave room! Very little choice, soft croissant, no choice of yogurt, no more fruit salad if you arrive at 10am, no compote... The staff is polite without more.
We stayed one night here while in Monstoreau, the view was breath-taking with the Chateau right there and the Loire River just below.
It is a Logis de France Hotel set at the top of a hill. We had booked a twin room which was verry basic although the bathroom was good. There were no proper glasses in the room, we had to have our usual pre-dinner Gin and Tonics in mugs, that was a first. The room was in an annexe but was really quiet and again the view was lovely.
The Montsorelli Restaurant is part of the hotel complex. It has outdoor tables for beautiful days where one can dine while drinking in the view. Also there is an inside dining room for more inclement weather.
The prices in the restaurant were quite high but the food was good and there was a great buzz. I would certainly dine here again if, for nothing else other than the view.
Parking opposite next to the Restaurant Montsorelli with some places but not sufficient if all rooms come by car.
Friendly welcome. Suitcases trudge up the stairs to the first floor. The “superior” room 3 was quite small, old-fashioned and through a window part of the castle could be seen. However, the room was clean and the small bathroom had a walk-in shower and renovated as well as the toilet.
Wifi was very good with 100 Mbbs! For which chapeau. There is no A/C. Only a problem in a heat wave because the building has thick walls.
The barrier in front of the car park is closed until 8 am. So if you want to leave early find a parking space in the alley.
All in all a reasonable hotel in a beautiful location. Beautiful view and super quiet. But you mainly pay for that location because the room itself is not worth € 130 +.
Very comfortable room with a view of the castle and the banks of the Loire with a multitude of swans.
Full breakfast with scrambled eggs on request.
Superior room: €121
Pt hearty lunch: €13

"Ask for a room overlooking the Loire. Although this was the front of the hotel, it was very quiet."Read full review
"Rooms overlooking the Loire and Chateau are quiet. As it is an older building and many rooms are small those with baths are more spacious."Read full review
