Overall, really average onsen.
It gets the job done but it's not a nice facility.
The outdoor onsen is quite small and can fit 5-6 people tops and you're not really looking at anything but a wall.
If you're out of options for onsens and need a fix then I guess why not

You need to read small print when booking here as many rooms do not have their own bathrooms, only a toilet. Those with baths or showers cost more. The common baths are good but dated. Food quality is not bad. And if you drive there's plenty of parking space.

After a long day of skiing we drove to Highland Furano for a traditional onsen bath. Our hotel concierge recommended it to us. It was an authentic Japanese hotel which we understand has been popular amongst tourists who go to Furano to see the lavender fields during the summer months. Our onsen experience there was very pleasant and we were happy with the quality of the natural hot spring water.

This hotel/onsen was an excellent stay, one of the best places we stayed in Hokkaido. And very reasonably priced as well. It was recommended to us by the friendly people in the Furano info center at the train station. It is about 8km out of town so only really feasible if you have your own wheels. The hotel is a hidden gem, nestled in the forest on the side of a hill, surrounded by myriad hiking and running trails - really a beautiful and peaceful setting. The room was fairly good size, Japanese style, with ensuite toilet (no bath/shower) and good views out the window. There was a fridge, tea making facilities, and a Japanese only TV. There was no wifi connection in the room. The futon beds were very comfortable and we had a great night's rest. The onsen was very relaxing, with the choice of indoor or outdoor pools and all the usual bathing facilities, all included in the room price. The hotel service was great, we were very enthusiastically checked in by a friendly gal at reception. Plenty of parking outside for your car.

We had an excellent stay here and would definitely recommend it to other travelers with their own cars. At a price of 4400 yen per person (about $55 per person) we thought it to be very good value, especially for Japan.

It is at a rather isolated position. So if one does not have a car, this hotel is not recommended.
The hotel is in general slightly outdated. The rooms are of reasonable size. However note that there is no bathroom inside the hotel room, so the only way to wash is to visit the public hot spring. In other words, if you like traditional hot spring this hotel is nice. On the other hand if you don’t like hot spring, you should not choose this hotel.
The dinner provided by hotel is however surprisingly very nice, which is traditional Japanese set meal.

We were there before any flower bloom, hence no comments on the patch of lavender next to the hotel. Room is simplistic with “airplane toilet, with automation”. If not for the Onsen, I would give a 3 stars rating.

Onsen was different from the many Hotel Onsen we have been to. This is a typical Japanese public Onsen where you see family visit and spend the day. Interesting.

This hotel is 8 km from town. You need your own transport to get there . Mainly Japanese guests. Plenty of free parking. Huge lavender field in front of hotel with a small forest behind where short walks are done . Star gazing is also possible but while we were there , the sky was covered by clouds.
The room had three beds , a small fridge and a small TV. No working desk . Toilet only with no shower . Very basic. Wifi was non existent except in the lobby. One has to bathe in the public bath that shuts from 11pm till 6am.
The bath provides only shampoo and body wash. There are three to four rectangular pools.
Dinner was surprisingly good with an eight course dinner that included crab legs.
The stay is a three star but four stars were given because of the food . Will probably look for a hotel with shower and good wifi the next round.

This is nice little hotel and hot spring place just outside of the town of Furano. We came for the hot spring only - it was just under 1000 yen/person with a towel rental included. They had 5 pools in the men’s section - a large one, a smaller cooler one with bubbles, a smaller cooler one outside, and a couple small very hot ones. They had a sauna as well. It was great.

I love their hot spring. There are three different kinds of bath tubs and outside hot spring. Great quality. I ate lunch at a restaurant there. No so many good menus. Since it's in Furano, they should have menus, which use Furano delicacies.

"Room 101 has blocked view of the lavender and we can hear the sound of pumps from the onsen. Ask for the next room."
