This is our third stay at Tsuru Apartments during the ski season. The location is very good, we find the short walk up to the gondola a perfect way to warm our legs before skiing, it’s close to restaurants, the Lawson mini market, great coffee shop (Ronin) and quite a walkable distance into town, just over 1km.
The apartment is clean and well equipped, furnishings are simple but comfortable and great for the price. Excellent Wifi. The kitchen has an induction cooktop, microwave and dishwasher.
The owner Hiro is fantastic, he helped us with taxis, restaurant bookings, lift passes, transport to and from the bus drop off, and organisation of an urgent document delivery from Australia.
We will definitely be returning.

We stayed here recently as a couple whilst on a ski trip and loved apartment 9 upstairs with a view from the bedroom window. The host Hiro was lovely but some extra info in the rooms would be great. Where to eat, taxi number, where to shop and other attractions to see in the area. It is an easy walk to Seven 11 and a few restaurants as well as the gondola station. A longer walk to supermarkets but ok. Unfortunately the bed is very hard and extra pillows would be appreciated. We would definitely stay again

Tsuru apartments hits the mark for those wanting quality accommodation in walking distance to the Kitanomine Gondola, Restaurants and Shops. The service from our host Hiro was just sensational, having driven around Australia on a motorbike his english is excellent and understands Aussie humour. Travelling with my wife and 3 girls 20, 18 and 15 finding something that met everybody's needs was difficult in Furano, but at Tsuru Apts we hit the jackpot. We were accommodated in a 2 bedroom apt with free wi-fi, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are first class. Little things like dish/washing powder supplied makes it very easy to settle in.

Hiro made our stay a very enjoyable and memorable one in Furano, he was very polite and was a fantastic host. For those looking for significant nightlife, Furano is not the place for you. However, if you are after great skiing and a great self contained place to stay, Furano and Tsuru Apts make a great combination. Also don't miss a Shabu Shabu meal cooked by Hiro in his onsite restaurant. Its only open on demand, so pick a night and speak to Hiro.

A big thumbs up for Tsuru Apartments and Hiro san.

We booked through booking.com. We tried several times to contact the host in regards to our delayed arrival. Ended up ringing booking.com. for advice. There is no restsurant, communication with the owner/host is poor, after booking a taxi from Sapporo as had to check in before 8pm was told he could have done it cheaper. There ate no staples as salt and pepper, milk or a couple of tea bags/coffee. The washing machine was great, needs more than one pillow on each bed.

Just spent 2 weeks at Tsuru Apartments, we were really impressed with the apartments. Firstly we arrived earlier than expected & Hero met us off the bus from Sapporo without any problems. The apartments are absolutely great, clean, spacious, centrally located, warm & nicely appointed.

Hero took us into town to do some grocery shopping as well as giving us some local tips. Thanks Hero great stay.

I visited Furano in February 2017 for a snow trip with two friends. We arrived at Tsuru Apartments later than expected due to flight delays, however on arrival, we were impressed instantly by the a accommodation and host.

The apartment was very spacious and impeccably maintained and clean. All areas were immaculate and with modern amenities including TV, kitchen bathroom excellent wifi and washer/dryer.

The location is excellent and only a short 5 minute walk to the Kitanomine gondola and very close to local restaurants, bars and convenience store.

What impressed us the most was the hospitality of our host Hiro. Hiro shows great care for his lodging and equal care for his guests. Nothing was a problem for Hiro as he went out of his way to help us with dining recommendations, best places to ski and driving us to a local onsen.

Hiro also arranged discount lift passes allowing us to get even more value from the amazing snow conditions.

Thank you Hiro! We hope to be back soon.

Our one bedroom apartment was very clean, well maintained and spacious for our family of 3. We were happy that towels were provided and the washing machine and kitchenette had been very useful. The bathroom and toilet are spacious and modern.

Exceeded our expectations.

I highly recommend Tsuru as a great place to stay in Furano, it is less than 5 min walk to Kitanomine Gondola station, and just 50m from the wonderful Ajito Bar.

The rooms themselves are great; drying room and washing machine included with a proper kitchen. I was staying alone so having the free wifi and big screen TV with English channels (something you don't get at a lot of hotels in Furano) meant I was able to keep myself entertained. The room is decent size, something again that a lot of the older hotels struggle with (imagine staying in a 15 sqm shoe box, that's what some of the hotels are like, this room was more like 50sqm with a proper bathroom/bathtub and living room to spread out a bit). The washing machine I think is a huge benefit because you can bring less clothes, and wash them; snowboard socks with intuition liners get a little, how can I say, rancid, after a few days, so having the ability to wash them and also with a drying room IN THE ROOM is a huge bonus.

the owner Hiro-San is a really nice guy; he lives right next door, and took both myself and other guests to the supermarket a couple of times, that's the level of service you get when staying here rather than a hotel.

Maybe not the cheapest place, as I was on my own, but definitely would be worth it and recommended as a place to come; note that if the ski resort is Dec - Mar then Kitanomine side is open; from April onwards the resort bizaarely closes this side and only the Furano side is open, meaning you can still stay on this side but you would need to bus over each day to Furano side, which is kind of a pain.

While in town last year, I shot a video to promote that Thai Airways now flies directly to Chitose (Sapporo) Airport from Bangkok; if you catch the bus, then it is possible to be arriving 8am, bus 930am, Hiro will pick you up at the EdelWarne stop at 12pm and you can be riding at 1pm no problem. I also recommend Furano International SnowSports School (FISS) for lessons, they are based at the Kitanomine side just up the road; lessons make a huge benefit for any skier or snowboarder I think!

Check out a little video shot for Furano here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Suhmetpnfv4

The initial impression of Tsuru was as good as the other reviews stated. We were delayed by the bad weather and the owner arranged for alternate transport as he was busy. It was a nice gesture.

However, we could only get the owner on the second day of our stay despite numerous attempts to look for him on the first night, leading to some disputes over "damages" during our check out.

We were under the impression that everything in the house could be used. As it was cold and we were not allowed to turn up the central heating, ("do not touch" sticker was stuck on it), we took the extra futon and pillow from the storeroom. After our check out, we received an email from the owner requesting an extra ¥5,000 as he needed to send it for dry cleaning. We wrote back to request for a waiver and got a petty reply stating the various items we got as "goodwill" on the second day, i.e. free tickets to a local attraction, discounts he gave for the ski lessons and also the taxi fare we would have incurred should he not have sent us to the train station. And he also claimed damages to the extra bed we added.

We understand that it was a nice gesture of him to accept a 4 person reservation on a 2 person apartment,(we added an extra bed with charges) but it struck us as a very unprofessional gesture to charge extra after we leave and there is no way to inspect the damages.

On a side note, the shower was impressive, and the washing machine was a great convenience too.

The 3 bedroom villa was great for my family of 7. Everything was very clean. The host was not the friendliest when we arrived early to try to check-in. But he did allow us to use the bathroom quickly and drop off our luggage. Later, he also moved all of our luggage to the villa in advance. Even though he doesn't smile, he does his job just fine. The one complaint I have about the place is the poor wifi in the morning and at night. During the day, in the afternoon, wifi is fine but I think when all guests are in their respective rooms and using wifi, then wifi at the villa just doesn't work. It was quite frustrating at times. Location was okay but you definitely need a car to get around Furano if you are staying here.
