Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent hotel with good amenities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread was great with local produces, I love the Hokkaidō milk options. There’s also a bath house and free laundry. I’d been using the bath house every evening after a day of skiing. The changing room is very clean. Only downside is the pillow … please change the pillows as they are either feather flat or with beans which is hard as a rock.

Do not be conned by the name - the Winery and Condominiums at Hitohana. The hotel is kind of boutique and lovely but it is not in or near a winery and is overpriced at least for the summer season. We tried to have dinner there but you have to book 2 days ahead - there is no advice of this on their booking forms or website. We did not take the breakfast option when booking as was too expensive. They did offer free coffee - if you want black tea - BYO - we actually found this in a a number of the 15 hotels we stayed at over the month and some wine tipples at night in tiny paper cups (like you see in a hospital with pills in them). It is far from town/eating places - we took a taxi (Y1,300 each way - had trouble getting one to take us home) into the centre and had to queue for more than half an hour outside for dinner at the Information Centre recommended Kumagera Restaurant, supposedly once had a Michelin star, but menu now promotes self cooking (maybe adapted with Covid??), so we cooked Shabu Shabu, so hard to see Michelin advantage here now, but not at Micheline prices so all OK.

Was in the superior room where it was spacious and cozy. Bed was comfortable. Service level of staff was excellent. There was always one (Vietnamese) who would converse in English and she was helpful and took care of us all the way. It’s a great hotel but would be better if the parking was next to the hotel.

The staff were all very patient, friendly and most helpful, arranging free shuttle service to pick us up from Furano station. We had an excellent deal due to the Go To Travel campaign, and we even got a free bottle of local Furano wine after answering a few questions on a simple survey. Breakfast was delicious; although choices may not be as wide variety as some of the larger hotel chains, but it was more than enough to satisfy us. All ingredients were locally sourced within Hokkaido as much as possible. They even serve 3 different types of milk from different parts of Hokkaido. The location was perfect; only a few minutes' walk from the Kitanomine ski lift station, and they provide free shuttle bus service to the new Furano Prince Hotel ski lift station too. Rooms were very large for a Japanese hotel, and immaculately clean. We were two adults and two toddlers, with 3 large suitcases, and there was still enough room for the little ones to run around in the room. The toilet and bathroom are separate rooms, which is really nice especially for families. Washing machines and dryers are available absolutely free of charge too, something you don't see often in hotels. We had the hotel's course dinner for our Christmas dinner, and although not exactly cheap, it was well worth the price (two main courses were both served for each person, abalone as the seafood main and Japanese Wagyu beef as the meat main). All in all, it was an excellent experience for our family. The other reviews and ratings do not lie; very highly recommended.

Stayed here in July 2020. I think the hotel is new, everything is modern and has that new feel to it. The room (superior) was spacious , massive TV , fully fitted with a modern kitchen The public bath area while not an onsen was relaxing Staff are super friendly and helpful Tried their hitohana wasabi burger which was great also. If in Furano I'd stay here again. It was great. Great access to Furano and Biei, hotel car parking is free about 50m away.

Our family of 4 stayed in this beautiful cozy hotel end December 2019. The Superior Twin room was very spacious and is sufficient to sleep all 4 of us, 2 adults, a teen and a 11 yr old. Room is equipped with a humidifier cum air purifier. Toilet and shower is separated which is really helpful when you have 4 people in the same room! Complimentary laundry onsite was a bonus, all we had to do was toss the laundry into the washer, hop into the onsen which is right next to the laundry area and when you’re done with onsen your laundry is too. If u need to use the dryer, just come back an hour later. Breakfast was simple but fresh and delicious. All in all a very pleasant stay. Will be happy to come again next time we’re in Furano

A beautiful spotlessly clean hotel in Furano a few blocks away from the Kitanomine ski station. The distance made no difference as the hotel has two shuttle buses that regularly take guests to and from the ski station (and often at other times on request). The staff are absolutely delightful and could not be more helpful. The bedrooms are quite spacious compared with many Japanese hotels and elegantly appointed. The public areas are quiet and peaceful and the dining room spacious and comfortable. Although we are out a lot at local cafes and bars, the food we had at the hotel was very good. Their evening buffet meal is worth trying, especially the beef and the wine, which is produced for the hotel. We stayed 12 nights and the hotel began to feel like a home away from home.

My husband and I stayed at Hitohana during a ski tour of Hokkaido. The hotel exceeded our expeditions and provided us with a wonderful experience while in Furano. The rooms were well sized, impeccably clean and the shower was luxury. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. Most importantly, the staff was incredibly gracious, welcoming and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect from start to finish.

Basically everywhere we have been skiing in Japan the accommodation organise a pick up from the transferring bus sevice to the accommodation. Transferred tonight from Nisiko only to be left to walk with luggage two blocks to Hitohana at 7pm. Not what you would expect when everyone else on the bus was dropped at the Prince Hotels and Hitohana had two vehicles parked outside when we walked in. Not my best impressions of what to expect and I have been skiing Japan for a decade now. With reservation to my comment this is our first night and Hitohana is very comfortable. Three stars so far
