We paid 15,000 yen for one night, two guests. The room was bare save for two beds, a table, a fan, and an air conditioner. Shared bathrooms. One shower for all guests. No meals included. We could hear people in the adjacent room talking until late at night. The nightly room rate is absurd considering that this place is basically...

Me and my husband were here for 3 nights, due to restrictions we couldn't get a car however, it wasn't a problem for us as Mariko (the lady who works here) was amazing and so accommodating and helpful. The house and the area were really convenient. We usually stay in hotels when we travel but this was above and beyond...

When picking a pension in Furano and Biei, it's about experiencing the vision of the owner. Pension gooseberry is about modern and chic architecture with an Ainu theme (every room has an Ainu name).
