Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came during the peak flowering season in Furano. Prices for this hotel were astronomical but worth every penny: two gourmet meals were included, alcoholic drinks came gratis and the best part -- the hotel's very own lavender field and herb garden, which guests can roam on complementary electric golf carts. One tip: try to check in on time or a little earlier, because the hotel has limited carts. Also, note that the hotel is located in a remote area and has been set up as a destination in itself, where guests remain from check-in to check-out to enjoy its extensive facilities.

Beautiful hotel. Hidden away in the forest. I liked that drinks in lobby and mini-bar are all included. It’s an slightly older property but extremely well maintained. Loved the bathrooms. Although the steam room in onsen was not working, the onsen was still a great amenity. I may have been one of 10 guests at the property. Highly recommend this hotel. Only 1/3 price of prince Hotel which is slope side.

Beautiful Hotel suitable for couples. Room with Balcony for guest to relax & enjoy the beautiful scenery of their garden. Suggest to have own transport as hotel located 5-10mins drive from Town. Hotel only allows late check in, which is at 6pm. Good service of hotel staff, although they couldn’t communicate in English.

The hotel is tucked away off a countryside highway that you need you a GPS locate. One would never have guess that behind the tree line drive way sits a property that is like a sanctuary of idyllic charm. You feel instantly at peace the moment your step out of the car. You notice there is an abundance of space and spareness both in the exterior and interior of this property. We arrived an hour before the expected check in - time of 3pm and was promptly greeted by the staff who help with us with all the formalities while serving us with delectable snack and drinks. The hotel sits in d middle of a forested area with its own floral plantation. A golf buggy is at your disposal to explore the property at your own pace. Infact the highlight of my trip is the time spent in the evening immersing myself just strolling in this private garden. The room is not ultra modern but its clean comfortable. All d rooms faces the hotel's own version of Furano floral garden without the hordes of tourist. Due to d ratio of the hotel's built up area to the number of hotel guests room. There is a complete sense of privacy that makes you feel that the hotel is empty and the staff is discreetly absence only when you need them. All d meals(hi tea/dinner /bfast) and drinks are included with the rooms except for drinks ordered with your meals(dinner) If you enjoy your pre- dinner and after dinner cocktails you will be please to know its all on the house. Service at d the restaurant varies depending on who is assigned to your table. We had a senior staff for breakfast who made the experience all the more enjoyable. Notwithstanding, all meal were exceptional to the point being obscene. The onsen facilities though not huge in size makes up for its uniqueness. Its a shame that the hotel didnt acknowledge that we where celebrating our anniversary and my partner's birthday as part our the trip. The overall experience was still enjoyable. We had to climb into a long bath to have a shower which can be daunting challenge for family travelling with seniors who are less mobile and agile as mention by some travellers.

We were very disappointed in the management and operation of this hotel. 1) We were not told that we had to make arrangements for dinner in advance and since the hotel is far from the town, this would have been very inconvenient. 2) The western room we reserved was suppose to have a stand up shower, but they gave those rooms to other guests and we were left with a very high bath in which, even if you could get in (and my wife would not have been limber enough to do so) one could not take a shower standing up, because the shower cord would not extend high enough and one would get water all over the place. 3) The management was very unsympathetic and unhelpful. So we left and found a far superior accommodation for a more reasonable price. I would advise others to do the same.

Beautiful hotel, staff, onsen, food and drinks. Couldn’t have asked more. The room picture on the booking website definitely did not do it justice, probably from the lighting, making the beds looked old and stale colored. On the contrary, the bed and pillow were so so comfy and the room was very spacious and way beyond my expectations. This is a hotel that I’d want to come back!

Although not walking distance from the slopes this hotel was the absolute highlight of our trip. From the incredible arrival at check in with a welcome dessert and hot towels to the attentive yet discrete staff the hotel was without fail one of the best stays I've ever had in Japan. Free open bar in the evenings with a wide selection of wine beer spirits and cocktails. Roasted marshmallows and cookies by the fire in the evenings. A tasteful art gallery and furniture showroom in the basement.

(We were here in Late July 2016 indeed, which was a good time to visit Hokkaido and you can see lavender and sunflowers) It's one of the best hotels ever! You can see a amazing lavender field from the big glass window at your room! Don't forget to drive a golf car around the big beautiful garden! It's a romantic hotel and we wish to come back!

Furano hotel is a famous fancy hotel in Hokkaido. The hotel has a hot spring, restaurant, and bar. The guests can drink almost all alcohols and juices at the bar for free. Moreover, there is a beautiful large garden next to the hotel, and you can look around as driving an electric car which can be used in the hotel. We could stay wonderful time in Furano hotel except one thing… We ordered a glass of wine at the dinner, and it was really delicious. The stuff told us that we could buy the same kind of wine at the front desk. When we checked-out, we bought the wine for $80. After leaving the hotel, we stopped by a market. Then, we found that kind of wine sold for $25!!! Can you believe that?!? It determined us never to buy any souvenir at a hotel again.

By far the BEST hotel I've been to in Furano! Excellent food, excellent service, excellent hotel environment. The onsens and hot stone bath were very enjoyable, too! There's nothing to find fault with no matter how hard you try. If you enjoy refinement, this is your place! For skiers, it's not situated right next to the run like the New Furano Prince Hotel. By car, it's about 5 minutes away from the Furano and Kitanomine runs (in winter snow traffic). For me, that hardly inconvenienced my 4-day family skiing trip at all. There's only one word of warning for non-Japanese speakers. Some of the staff didn't speak very much English. I suppose in our age of Google Translate on mobile, that's hardly a problem for anyone. I've read some reviews complaining about the place not having wi-fi. I wonder how many visitors nowadays go to Japan go without a DoCoMo data SIM card. I went to Furano to switch off and go offline. Anyone else choosing to go there to switch on and go online is entirely a personal choice (and a very weird one too!) So, just go and enjoy. You won't go wrong!
