We booked this futurwald furano ski hotel for its location. Also as it had hot spring baths for relaxing after skiing. The staff are all very nice, friendly and helpful! The nice lady behind the check in counter even booked my ski pass with discount. The only thing I could say they can improve on is better coffee, and organizing dinner and breakfast better . Maybe don't take as many bookings ? Other than that it's a perfect place to stay as they have warm drying room /ski lockers right out the front of the hotel ( across the road from the "kitanomine " F chair lift ) excellent 👌 if you want to access the whole furano ski resort.... Makes it easier to have a break back at hotel and not as busy as main " shin furano prince hotel side ". Yes overall good location, good for family or adults. The level 2 of hotel has areas to read or sip on a suntory whiskey after a good day in Furanos powder snow ❄️. I did note that the lifts in hotel get crowded but stairs are a great option if needed in a hurry. Thanks again konnichi wa OHIYO I will stay here again. . Thanks again.

I'm completely blown away by this place. Given the current travel situation, they'd be forgiven for withdrawing a lot of the bells and whistles they offer, but from what I can tell it's all still there. I'm currently living in Japan and not being of Japanese origin I'm used to getting looked at quizzically and not being able to communicate very well (due to my lack of Japanese which is completely my fault). This hotel has plenty of English speakers who were so helpful, including in checking me in and also explaining the dinner situation. There's SO many freebies - you can pick 5 toiletries per day on check in (the essentials are already in your room, these are extras like face masks etc) and they have a free snack corner with loads of different foods and drinks including the cute marshmallow grilling area. The dinner buffet is huge with loads of different options for pretty much any preference, though of course it's seafood heavy. Some highlights were the seafood you can grill yourself at your table, the freshly fried tempura and the super fresh tuna rib. I haven't had breakfast yet because I couldn't wait to write this review, but I'm sure it'll be just as spectacular. I didn't check out the onsen but I believe there's even more freebies to be had there! There were also tons of activities for little kids like dress up etc. I'm just sad that I didn't have a sighting of the hotel's mascots!

You can virtually walk over to the ski slope at ease. Breakfast is superb with wide spread of hot and cold food for all guests. Tea time snacks and dinner dessert buffet are available for free. Room is comfortable and not too small for couples with ski gear, although ski lockers are provided by hotel. Staff courtesy and helpfulness are given, as expected of most Japanese hotels. My wife and I enjoyed our 7 nights stay at Naturwald, although the beds are bit soft.

We loved staying at Naturwald- as far as the hotel went. The staff are so helpful and kind. The restaurant staff are wonderful, the chefs excellent, as a vegetarian I found plenty of delicious food at dinners as well as breakfast. Best breakfast ever in Japan (this is our 3rd trip). The Supreame spa is world class- I’ve been to spas In some of The world’s top hotels and I couldn’t fault this lady. The back massage is to die for! And very well priced! The onsen is excellent- 2 Onsens inside and one outside in the snow (3 each for men and women). Absolute heaven!!!!! Very well maintained. The library for reading in was great. The large warm foyer and little shop with gifts and snacks. We had a children’s playroom near us and I loved seeing the cute little Japanese children with their parents. So well behaved too- a credit to Japanese parenting! Here’s the reason I couldn’t give more points though. The beds are as hard as rocks. My husband and I got back aches. To be honest, we’ve found the same in all Japanese ski hotels, but in others we had spare foam mattresses for floor beds which we put in our own beds so we could cope. This room had no spare mattresses and it really made us miserable. Also, the room got too hot despite turning off the air conditioning all the time, so we woke with headaches each day from lack of air in the room. Till on the last day, we opened the window and that was good (if a bit cool! At -10 degrees!) If Naturwald would just get proper Western softness beds and A/C that works in the rooms, this would have been perfect! The ski area is awesome, so close to the hotel. We could look out the window to see if the chairlifts were open yet across the road before venturing out. So good!

We stayed at Naturwald for four nights whilst skiing in Furano. The location is very convenient - it’s not actual ski-in ski-out but you only have to cross a road and you’re at the chair lift (and I don’t think anywhere in Furano is true ski in ski out). We got discounted lift passes each day from reception and collected them at the small ticket office by the chair lift. Breakfast was good each morning - a wide variety of options including many Japanese options but also enough for clueless Europeans (us) to have a good breakfast. We had cereal, mini pastries, omelettes and ramen - all were great. We also got a free visit to the dessert buffet which was a nice touch. The highlight was a chocolate fountain and soft serve ice cream machine. You can also help yourself each night to face masks and cooling patches (among other things) for your muscles which was nice. There were a variety of free snacks in the evenings as well from about 3pm. In terms of the room, the shower was powerful and we always had hot water. There was limited storage space but we had plenty of space on the floor to open ski bags and suitcases and there was a bit of hanging space. The main issue we had was the beds, they weren’t overly comfy and caused a few achey backs in our group. Ski lockers were helpful and always very warm - we found if we stored our boots up high in the locker they were kept really warm and dried out well. The 7-11 is a 10 minute walk and there were also good restaurants nearby. The hotel was relatively pricey compared to our nights in Niseko, but they do throw in a lot of freebies and breakfast. As above - main reason for not giving 5 stars is the beds!

This is our 3rd stay in Furano Naturawald. My kids are attracted to the warm and homely environment of this hotel from the 1st time we stayed in this hotel. Aside from its strategic location where the hotel faces the Kitanomine slope and is the drop off point for Kitanomine Gondola, there are many sections of the hotel which remind us of the feeling of “home away from home”. There is a play area for the children and a study area for quiet reading. Interestingly, there is common area where guests can mingle with each other, roast marshmallow and have a cup of hot drinks, all complimentary. The in-house onsen is another all-time favorite. It is rarely crowded as the opening hours are long allowing guests to use throughout the night. Most importantly, every staff is very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. Special mention goes to Ms Yuka Yokozawa who helped us from day 1 as she is fluent in English. A very valuable asset in the hotel industry given the number of foreign guests in this hotel. My wife was injured at the ski slope and had to go to the hospital. Yuka kindly helped to translate a list of instructions for the hospital staff to read. We are very grateful for her kind assistance. In addition, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Hiroshi Kita for acknowledging us as the hotel’s loyal customers. Thank you to Ms Youko Kitazawa and restaurant manager, Yonezawa Matsahiro for their concern of my wife’s knee. We would also like to thank the two Taiwanese interns at the reception who are helpful and ever willing to offer their assistance. All in all, this is a family friendly hotel with good amenities and great hospitality.

Check in was smooth with some staff able to communicate in English. The western room i got was spacious by Japanese standards. The beds tend to be on the softer side but the hotel lobby provides various type of support pillows for guest to use FOC. The hotel also provides many free snacks and treats at afternoons which is welcoming after coming back from the day's activities. The inhouse onsen separated by gender is small and plain. The hotel breakfast is not worth the money and is the reason for the 4 of 5 stars. Finally there is free parking at the hotel.

From Furano bus station or JR, go to bus stop no.4 to check the timing to get to the hotel. There’s a bus every hour or so. The lavender bus stop is just in front of the hotel so it’s very convenient if you travel here with luggage. Hotel was very quiet when I arrived, with only one staff at the counter. Staff can speak English and Chinese so communication is not a problem. They have pillows for you to choose from and you can also get kids bathrobes next to the check in counter. Also free diapers, milk powder. Can also rent strollers and bumble seats so it’s very baby friendly. There’s a small area with marshmallows to roast, crackers, chocolate chip cookies and a free hot and cold drink bar. Free Furano grape juice at the lobby. Hotel also gave us a sweets buffet voucher which had a nice selection of cakes and soft serve icecream. Onsen was not too crowded with 2 indoor and 1 outdoor onsen. Free shuttle bus to the Ropeway at new prince furano hotel even though the timing is quite limited. A few restaurants that sell ramen, udon and pizza are of walking distance of about 5 min. Just ask the friendly staff and they will direct you.

Hotel is very child friendly : the decorations at the lobby, the brightly lit fairy lights on the columns at the entrance, the child sized breakfast stall and crockery etc. But for adults, may not be ideal as there are plenty of children playing around, it’s almost like a nursery with some bawling away. Free snacks available during limited hours, you can also help yourself to 5 small items eg small boxes for cream, comb, hair ribbons, etc. The room was spacious, however the wall had smudges and the carpet looked dirty. 5 minutes’ walk to a good restaurant, Sanjin, which serves set menu of pork/chicken cutlets, grilled fish, friedpork, sukiyaki
