Some minor issues:
- Our room was very hot (on fourth floor) and we couldn’t adjust the temperature so had to keep switching the heating off entirely.
- Breakfast was only ok. I didn’t eat the cooked food as it was left sitting out for a long time and didn’t seem very fresh. Plenty of cereal, fruit, toast etc though.
We requested bed rail, we used Google translate to convey to the hotel staff what we want, they responded with a blank stare.
So we asked to put up futons on the tatami area for our toddler, then was told the next day that the futons costed extra 15000+ yen per night! This is outrageous! Extra Futons usually costs nothing in other hotels. The futons are already lying there in the cupboards in our hotel room, we are told that we will still be charged even if we spread the futons out ourselves!
They offered us to change to another room with low beds, but that room is much smaller and cheaper, they told us the room rates are the same, a simple check on line proved that they are lying. We suspected that someone requested our large family room, as we found the smaller room with low beds are already booked on our second day of stay. They are charging us for the futons to force us to move out of the family room.
So at the end we asked them to push one of the twin beds against the wall. We and our child end up sleeping cramped up in a small bed, despite staying in a 40+ m2 room with plenty of space!
Not to mention there are minimal amenities for children in the hotel. The breakfast sucked with minimal choice.
We are so disappointed in this hotel, usually Japanese hotel offer excellent services, this one is an exception. Stay away!

Our room was so spacious although the bathroom was on the small side (hardly a surprise in Japan). Some staff spoke sufficient English, and the ones that do not tried their super best to help. Breakfast was of good variety and plentiful.
Although they were about 10-mintue slight uphill walk to the lifts, they offer free scheduled transfers. The Lavender-Go free bus into town stops just in front of the hotel. There're convenient store and coin laundry shop about 3 mins walk away. The hotel does ski rental for the best prices too.

Simple to get to from the airport, the Hokkaido Resortliner Bus picked us up from the New Chitose Airport Terminal and dropped us off right in front of the hotel. For our friends coming from Sapporo after the Snow Festival, they were able to take the Chuo Bus from Sapporo Station right to the hotel as well.
No, the location is NOT right on the slopes, but it's not a bad walk up to the Kitanomine Lift. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle that will take you and your gear to any of the lifts, you just have to reserve it ahead of time. We actually just rented gear at the Prince Resorts shop at the bottom of the Kitanomine Lift, and left it there each night so all that week we just had to walk up in the morning, suit up and glide onto the chair lift or the gondola.
The rooms themselves were modest and dated. There was a funky smell in ours that we determined was coming from the heater, so we cracked the window and propped the door open to let it air out, and never really used the heater that week. Which was fine because we were always hustling with all our winter gear on and by the time we got to our room we would have liked it cold anyway, and the comforters were enough to keep us cozy at night. Only the mornings were a bit of a rough start. There were some questionable stains on the comforter when we first checked in though.
The bathroom, though small, had the essentials (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face soap, toothbrushes, etc). The plumbing setup was funny because it had one faucet that connected to both the sink and the shower, so you had to pick one and make sure the knob was turned to that direction. There was an incident while I was taking a shower and my partner came in to wash hands in the sink and was turning the hot and cold knobs and not understanding why the water was coming out... let's just say I was NOT happy the the water temperature changes as a result. The toilet is a "shower toilet" or "washlet", which is great, but I really wish the seats were heated! (The toilets in the lobby DO have heated seats, just FYI).
Hotel Features:
Wifi - the hotel has free wifi in the rooms and password-protected wifi in the lobby area.
Food - The hotel has a restaurant, but we weren't thrilled by the breakfast selection and ended up getting conbini breakfast from 7-Eleven the whole week. We love 7-Eleven's ready-made food. However I do encourage you to try the hotel breakfast at least once, you might find more things you like. We were always out for dinner with the group so we never got to experience the hotel restaurant's dinner, though the photos looked really nice.
Communal Bath/Hot Spring - The hotel also has a communal bath on the bottom floor, free for guests. There are yukata (Japanese-style robes) that you can wear through the hotel to get to the bath. Please familiarize yourself with onsen/bath etiquette first before just jumping in!
Common Area - The best part of the hotel is the cozy firepit area in the lobby. Our group often met there for breakfasts and right before dinners. There are vending machines in that area, two of them just for beer! This was a great place to socialize and meet the other hotel guests.
Staff - The front desk staff was very pleasant, though the English was limited. They often helped us call taxis to different places, reserve the ski shuttle for pickup, and even helped us find a place to eat that could accommodate our big group.
Check-out - The check-out time seems a little too early at 10am. You can opt to stay later, for a fee. We just needed an extra hour and they charged us 1000 yen, or about $10 US.
All in all, great hotel for the price, and we look forward to staying there again when we return to Furano next season.

Room: It is pretty big for 4 single beds to be in. It is equipped with some chairs, table, lamp, bedside tables, tv (which we didn't switch it on), wardrobe with some slippers (including those for onsen use, kettle & ryokans. The bed is pretty comfortable & it only has one pillow. Additional pillow will be provided upon requested. Bedsheets are clean. Carpeted floor but it feels clean upon walking in it without staining my soles. Room temperature is pretty good but slight unventilated during a spring-summer season. Windows are dirty but able to view scenery though it & can't be open. Fridge was small but able to fill up some snacks that we had bought.
Bathroom: Clean and equipped with shower amenities. Provided with a hair dryer as well. I patronised the onsen instead of the bathroom as it was small. My friend used it instead.
Food: A restaurant but did not patronised.
Onsen: It was great. Highlight of the stay I felt. Went in the early morning about 7am & evening about 9pm, rarely see anyone. Opening hours are long so able to visit it anytime. Onsen has 2 pools, temperature is more tolerable to me in the smaller one. Loads of shower heads available with Shiseido shower gels & shampoo. Stools for adults/children are available. A higher stool are available for elderly or disabled use. Hair dryer, facial care gels are available at the dry area. Have to bring down your own towel to the onsen. Toilets are available outside the onsen as well.
Location: It's a few km to ski resorts. A few convenience store & marts down the street. A park is nearby about 5 mins run away. Central Furano is a few km away, driving will be advised.
Activities/Shopping: Furano cheese factory is nearby but do check with the local opening time. Otherwise, the other attractions are a few hours drive or less than an hour.
The receptionist handled the whole hotel's requests so do take note if they are a little late when they reaches your room. There're no bell boys but lifts are available to travel up & down. A few stairs are available as well.
Room size is bigger than most other hotels, as always the bathroom is smallish, but the room itself is well appointed, good wardrobe, very comfortable beds, good heating system and wifi in room along with a nice breakfast and central location.
If you are skiing/snowboarding, it is about 5min walk up the hill to Kitanomine, so a little less convenient than Naturwald (for snow), slightly more convenient for walking around town (close to many good places to eat as well as 7-11, a little less of a walk down into Furano township), and the room itself is nicer than Naturwald so probably it's a question of priorities. The bus resort liner stops right outside the hotel when you arrive, so it's possible to arrive from Chitose on the 9.30 bus around midday, and ride the afternoon.
rooms don't have the stale ciggie smell of some older Japanese hotels also. Recommended.

I spent relax and slow moment in this hotel.
Compared to big resort hotels nearby, this hotel is very quiet, simple and moderate scale.
Located in a few minutes walking from Kitanomine terminal of the ropeway in Furano ski resort.
Free shuttle transportation between the hotel and ski resort is available upon guest request.
But I like to enjoy taking a walk in extremely cold snow path on my way back to the hotel.
For common bath room at Grand floor, 2 large ones are there and temperature is quite nice for spending long and relaxing bath time.
I bought canned beers (with no extra charge) and drank them at relax space warmed by a stove in lobby.
In order to visit to Furano town for dinner, I took Evening Lavender Shuttle from bus stop in a few minutes walking from the hotel and fare for bus was \300 to Furano railway station.
I wish stay longer at this hotel to spend Furano’s relax moment next time.
