For a motel off the highway, the Highlands is top of its class. Paul and Dora excel in customer service right down to chocolates on the pillow. Paul builds a tremendous bonfire each night for all guests to meet. Rooms have been upgraded with pine accents and the cabin and loft rooms are B&B delights! Great 3-day stay!

My wife and I and our two kids along with my brother and sister-in-law and their two kids wanted a nice get away from Toronto. My brother-in-law's family had stayed at the Highlands Motel about 5 years ago. They had a wonderful stay. He recommended we go there. I can't tell you how happy I was to have listened to...

My wife and I, who travelled from England to see friends in Toronto, were keen to have a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Therefore, we chose somewhere with both good ratings on trip advisor and that was at a reasonable price. Needless to say we were not disappointed. The Loft was a sizeable room...

An absolute gem nestled in the gorgeous Haliburton Highlands. Our family stayed for 4 nights in the cabin. This is not a typical motel. All amenities are immaculate and the Inn Keepers are very accomodating and friendly. They made us feel at home and could not do enough for us. Paul built us a wonderful fire everynight so we could...

Each year a group of friends get together for an annual Golf tournament at the Blairhampton Golf course which is less than 10 minutes from The Highlands. In past years we have been sleeping on floors, tents, sharing beds and a bathrooms. I'm not complaining we had fun but as we get older we want some comfort. This year we...

We stayed at the Highlands Motel on the long weekend in May, it was our first stop on a 4 day motorcycle trip. We stayed in the cabin, it was very nice and cozy. It has a full kitchen, double or queen bed (cannot remember which one) and a bunk bed futon, could sleep 6 people. The washroom was small...

Not enough characters to express how terrific this place is. The staff, setting, finishing, facilities. We stayed in the "Moose Lodge" with our two kids 3 and 6 years old. Everyone had a terrific time. In fact tonight we will relive the whole experience with a slide show on the TV! Our kids especially loved having bicycle races on the...

My daughter and I recently spent 3 nights in the beautiful loft unit at The Highlands Motel. We were very pleased with the natural pine beauty, cleanliness and well planned lay out of this lovely unit! The beds and multitude of good quality pillows and bedding were appreciated as were the very pretty views and all the little extras like...

I travel for work frequently and stay at a lot of motels, lodges and B and Bs across South Eastern Ontario. I have not yet taken the time to write a single review about any of them because they have all so far been average.... with this place being the exception. The Highlands Motel was nothing short of excellent. After...

After having stayed for one night in September, we vowed to return with friends in the winter. When one couple suggested they wanted to go to Haliburton for the Family Day weekend, we convinced them to choose the Highlands, and one couple soon turned into five. A fabulous winter weekend ensued, as skiing, snowshoeing, and good restaurants were all within easy...
