Baringo, like Turkana, is dying on its feet. Once a buzzing tourist attraction, now (thanks to rising Lake water due to deforestation) it boasts a shanty town with a couple of solar powered street lights and half the older colonial buildings semi-submerged in the lake. Roberts Camp is a 500m walk from the town so you will not smell the...

Thank you for getting back with this open view. Literally the nature has claimed a bigger portion of the land which used to be accessible. The vegetation normally contributes much and unfortunately much has been claimed leaving everything dull. Otherwise, we Roberts Camp still believe we can better what is left and for sure bring back the lost glory of...

Safari tents or bandas in a good spot by the lake. Excellent for bird viewing, also Hippo and Crocodiles at Lake edge. The tents and bandas all have mains electricity and fans. Bandas have own bathroom. Tents have just bed and fan and shared outside bathroom and toilet facilities. No hot water available in any accomodation. On site restaurant/bar called...

We used the cottage which was clean, spacious and great of value for money. The large veranda had a nice view of the lake. Lot of animals, birds, monkeys and hippos visible from the veranda. The staff was helpful and professional. Restaurant was clean, nice and outdoor which gave a camping feeling to the stay.

Go for the banda! For just $60, I had a night to remember on the shores of Lake Baringo. The lake levels have risen dramatically in the last few years, impacting both tourism and fishing -- the two sources of cash for the nearby Kampi ya Samaki villagers for generations. Things are changing, and fast: The once-thriving, next-door Block Hotels...

I spent my 2016 new year in Roberts Camp. It was absolutely remarkable. It is very simple, quiet and in a way(excluding the English breakfast) rustic and wild. The staff was also really kind. Sitting on a sofa only 100m from the lake watching a family of hippos huddle up in the water(totally safe), writing...What could be better! Definitely going...

Had a stay here for two nights following the classic rally cars around Baringo. Good camp area, clean toilets and showers. Did not get hot water but with the high temperatures we were looking forward to cold showers anyway. Has almost everything you'd expect from a campsite.

I've been to Baringo 3 times to visit my friend who does bird guiding up there. Each time I've pitched my tent at Robert's Camp. As a naturalist, I think it is best place I've ever camped. My friend and I saw hippos, crocs, Verreaux's Eagle Owls, African Scops Owls, Pearl-spotted Owlets, Bristle-crowned Starlings and countless other species on the...

Robert's Camp is an easy-going jewel right on the shore of mindblowing Lake Baringo, offering a very chilled atmosphere.
