This was just a fantastic little place to stay. From the welcome, to the room, the the grounds, the pool, the little hammock, the service, the links to cricket. Probably the best little hotel I've stayed in. Top top marks and highly reccomended

It was indeed a relaxed holiday at Kalu's Hideaway. It was absolute value for money. Food was good and the Chef was always obliging for guests' requests. Staff was smiling and very attentive. Location is very quiet and it is an absolute hideways. A suggestion to erect some sign boards on the way to the hotel will help the guests...

We were a bit apprehensive about this hotel, having read some bad reviews. We were very happy to find that our experience was the exact opposite. We spent 2 nights here (earlyJune 2016), and would have happily stayed longer. The staff just couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming - and this is everyone: at reception, porters, room staff, waiters,...

We were a bit nervous about staying here after reading some of the reviews but as it turned out we left very happy and satisfied after our 1 night stay. Its a small hotel 14 rooms and when we stayed in the low season only 3-4 of the rooms were occupied so it was very quiet. We had a standard...

This hotel has such a relaxing atmosphere, you could watch the river and wildlife around you for hours. The rooms overlook the grounds. We stayed here to go on safari early in the morning and the elephant transit camp. Good breakfast and dinner on offer, we weren't around for lunch. They even made us a cake to celebrate our honeymoon....

My husband and I stayed here for one night whilst touring Sri Lanka. What s great hotel in a beautiful location. We were a few minutes from the national park and the wildlife we encountered during our stay was amazing. We were given the top floor with a huge balcony with splendid views. The room itself was fabulous with a...

We loved the location, the highlight was the river at the bottom of the organic garden. What an absolutely stunning location. You will not be disappointed with your stay at this hotel. The hotel is like a sanctuary in that you immediately feel like you are home when you arrive. The natural surroundings relax you at once and you feel...

We stayed at Kalu's hideaway in December when visiting the Udawalawe national park and would recommend it to anyone. After a long car journey from Unawatuna we were relieved to arrive at this beautiful resort. As we pulled into the driveway there were peacocks roaming the grounds, a beautiful lily covered pond and staff greeting us with a smile. The...

Spent one night here en route from Ella to Galle. Staff were friendly and cheerful. Rooms are quite basic but had all we needed. Lovely pool and spacious gardens. Delicious curries for dinner - buffet style - and roast chicken and vegetables. Plenty to choose from. We sat and had a drink on the terrace area - but too many...
