We stayed at the Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort in September 2016 for one night during our Honeymoon tour of Sri Lanka. It was a lovely hotel and the room and hotel was clean and quaint. This was our fourth hotel we had stayed in during our tour and if it had been the first I would have given it a...

The rooms were very spacious and the resort was well landscaped. The bathrooms were average and one major drawback was that there was no Wi-fi in the rooms on the days that I was staying. They were nice enough to give the rooms a little before official check in time. It's probably still one of the better places in Udawalawe....

Hotel is clean, comfortable, run efficiently but missing something. Staff did all that was expected but in a cold and unenthusiastic manner. Probably good for large bus tours where the focus is on getting everyone through. It is close to the park and could well be the best place to stay but they can improve.

The complex, rooms, and pool were all very pretty and everything is set up for larger families. However, the service was curt (when we got it), and the food was pretty bad. Everything tasted like cheap Chinese ketchup. My husband ordered crab and we asked 3 times for a cracker and they only brought one after he started to beat...

Awesome place, luxorious, clean, good service, spatious. Awesome pool. Walk down in your hotel robe. Drink your cocktails in the pool. See a leguana and a monkey while in the pool. Take the safari, great times. Stay 2/3 nights, not much to do around the hotel except for the Safari. Would recommand this hotel to anyone!

Stayed here for two nights part of our Sri Lankan adventure. It was about20+ minutes to Udawalawe National Park. The grounds are stunning. Beautiful flora and fauna to be seen around the hotel. It has a rustic feel about it and does make you get in the safari spirit! Check in was efficient and comfortable (offered juice/water on arrival). Most...

This hotel is really close to an elephant orphanage and the Udawalawe national park, which is a great place to see elephants in the wild. The hotel is ok - the breakfast was good, the pool area is nice, and the staff were friendly. However, the air con is really loud, there was a strange drain/sewage smell in the room...

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights so we could visit the safari park. Compared to other places we stayed on our Sri Lanka holiday, the hotel was the most expensive but probably falls at the bottom of the list. There were no major issues,we just had better experiences at other hotels. The room and hotel feel a...

We tried the restaurant for our second night in Udawalawe and last night in Sri Lanka. That was a good choise as the buffet was well worth it. There are not too many options (almost none) for a nice dinner out so I highly recommend this restaurant especially for a family trip.
