The rooms were clean and the bushland around the complex was lovely. However, there don't provide much in the way of basic necessities like shampoo and conditioner. Only 1 face cloth, no hairdryer. Staff were friendly and plenty of parking.

Basic quiet clean & tidy in a lovely setting it was ideal for our overnight stay, two minutes from townsite. If it's luxury & room service your looking for this is not the place your looking for. Would I stay here again , defiantly yes (over night) but not as a holiday stay

Very clean basic room, set in lovely bush setting, very comfy bed, tea, coffee, microwave and a toaster.good size bathroom. For $130 a night I was impressed. Good tv, close to plenty of shops, I would recommend this hotel. Also had a BBQ area. Owner was very friendly and helpfull. Not far from mundaring Wsir.

Room Tip: We stayed in a overnight night, there are larger rooms with connecting doors for family's.

When we arrived we had to collect our key from a key safe and went to our room, only to find someone else's belongings in it. I phoned the manager as the office was unmanned (4.30pm) who said she'd made a mistake and told us to wait 5 minutes and go back to the office to get another key.
We were surprised to find ourselves in a family unit, which was freezing. As a large open plan space with bathroom, utility room and a second bedroom off it, we weren't that surprised it was so cold. However, given that the overnight low had been 4C the night before, I would have expected some heating to have been put on before our arrival.
The pathetic reverse cycle air con unit hardly heated the space at all, despite turning it up to 25C then 30C to see if that would help. It was still freezing so left it on (against instructions) to go out and have dinner. When we came back it was no warmer, so we went to bed in order to get warm.
The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows hard and we didn't sleep well.
In the light of day, I discovered the toilet seat was dirty, the floors all filthy, the venetian blinds were caked with dust and stained. There were empty packets of tea and sugar in the basket they were stored in and the kettle still had water in it from the previous occupants. There was soap, no shampoo in the bathroom.
I was so cold I almost went without a shower that morning and left as soon as we could to find warmth and breakfast elsewhere.
The whole place was dated and unloved. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place, which is a shame as the setting is lovely but it needs a complete overhaul.

Contactless check-in. We were allocated an interconnecting room with a locked door between us, despite other rooms being vacant. Our neighbour, a stranger, a male, could be heard loudly coughing & gagging right from the start. After half an hour of this I called the mobile number for Christina on behalf of the motel, to complain about the noise & requesting a move to another room. There was only a voicemail message service available. We then left the motel & went out for dinner. We took our time over dinner, reluctant to return to the motel. There was no return call from Christina. On our return to the motel there was less coughing, but we needed to turn on the TV at a higher volume to drown out the noise, which we left on all night. At 6am the much louder coughing resumed, so we got up, packed up & left by 7am. There was only 1 pillow per person provided as well. We will never return nor recommend this motel.

Overpriced and very poor service. There is a hole in a window and they just want your money and make no attempt to offer any kind of service.
Even the coffee that's supplied is the cheapest crap you can get and no tv signal and the shower leaked int the room.
The bin wasn't even cleaned out from the previous occupants.
If you can't get anything else than it will do but that's all.

Ever had that feeling of being unwelcome. Well this is the place that makes "Bates Motel" in the movie Psycho look welcoming..!

Normally I'm very careful with reviews, travelling alot I know its easy to become cynical and negative in reviews and I try to avoid this and focus on the positives and only highlight the negatives in cases where things are truly of poor quality. this is one of those (fortunately) rare cases.

Booked the place over the web whilst staying in Mundaring for the weekend. Drove up to the the reception (if thats what you can call it). It was a shuttered window with and iron grill. After ringing the bell several times a hand poked out of a small hatch in the grill and demanded my credit card and reservation. After which once I'd signed the reciept the hand pushed out a key and room number. No attempt was made at discussion, civility or any offers to show me the room. A look inside the room showed it to be clean and functional but definately totally lacking in any kind of charm or warmth whatsoever. Now if i was on the Reeperbahn in Hamburgs red light district this might not have been so bad, but Mundaring is a charming old world type of town on the fringes of Perth set in a beautiful Jarra Forest and to some extent relies on weekend tourists visiting the hills.

By now my wife was clearly disturbed by the whole thing so we returned to the reception hatch and asked to cancel our booking and were told by the person behind the iron grill that this was not possible. I pointed out that we had not been offered to view the room prior to paying and that the total lack of atmosphere and perfunctory (to the point of rudeness) greeting was most unsettling. Anyway rather than argue the point (they charged my credit card by the way) we left rather than have an uncomfortable night in a creepy hotel. We eventually stayed at the cheaper and far more friendly Mundaring Pub (hotel). I relayed my experience to the lady at the Mundaring tourist office the following morning and she concurred with our opinion.

So the long and short of it is avoid at all costs, the Pub is far better.

The Perth Hills are notoriously expensive. This is comfortable, reasonably priced accommodation on the main highway nestled among bushland. Overnight units and larger accommodation for longer stays.

I needed this at short notice after a long day packing and with a very early start with removalists the following morning. It saved a 200km return trip to my home in a southern Perth suburb.

In such situations every hour of sleep you can get is a bonus.

The best feature of the motel is its forest location, just off the highway. It is also next to the long distance cycle/pathway of the disused railway line, providing access to Mundaring village on foot or bike, and to extensive cycling or walking tracks. We stayed 3 nights while visiting friends in Mundaring and enjoyed peaceful nights and friendly and helpful service.
