What a lovely way to spend a sunny winters day at the Mundaring Weir Hotel. Visited on a Sunday afternoon as they have lamb on the spit which is served between 3 to 4pm on Sundays. A fantastic location and it is walking distance to the Mundaring Weir. We also spotted lots of kangaroos while walking to and from the...

Stayed one night with a friend. It's set in a nice bushy area and is a present drive, the cute cottages are appealing on the outside. Inside is very outdated. My room had not been cleaned from the previous occupier which had turned me off completely. Not just cleaned but not even checked as there was still plates off food...

We were really looking forward to a great dinner, an open fire and lovely surrounds....the way Mundaring Weir Hotel used to be. Big disappointment. All the food seemed to come out of a packet, didn't taste fresh, food was cold. Yes there was an open fire but the restaurant space was cold and tired. Very very tired. It just oozed...

Come a couple of times for lunch. Funny little place, plenty of room for the kids to run around. Food is very fast to come out. In fact it took longer to line up to order. Basic fish, chips and salad with a couple of beers. We have not stayed here but I'm sure it would be great.

What a fantastic place to bring the family and friends on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't even know this place existed and I'm so glad we found it as I will be back many times I'm sure. The pub menu was fab but even better was the chicken & chorizo paella cooking in the beer garden as well as the...

Went to the hotel for sunday lunch after walking around Jorgensen Park with the dogs. Needed to find an outdoor place we could take the dogs. Dogs must be on a leash & social. We just had a steak sandwich, the meat was tough, chips yummy beer batered ones. Lots of steps every where, but it is on a hill...

Hi there, We are indeed on a hillside, with lots of steps in the grounds, but we also have a series of ramps! The accommodation, grounds, indoor dining areas and pergola are all wheelchair accessible, and there is a dedicated Acrod toilet.

A really nice old pub but is in need of a little TLC a lick of paint would be great to freshen it up. Good food and good service. A lovely bush surroundings, so has it all apart from the tired decor. It could be totally amazing pub with loads of character and history

I often ride out here by motorcycle as it has a nice winding road that goes past the Weir. It is a very old classic Australian pub. There is Kangaroos here regularly and they can be fed if you ask the publican. Good for photo's with Kangaroo's. Cold beers and the Sunday session usually has Lamb spit roast. On the...

We had lunch here during the week so had the pick of places to eat outside or inside. The pub from the outside has quite a lot of old world charm, whereas outside settings are pretty ordinary. Food was okay for pub food - nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. Not sure if $17 for a...

BEWARE! They close at 5:30. Arrived at 5:15 and the unhelpful and rude waitress initially tried to talk me out of anything as it was close to closing. Then insisted that it was "policy" to only serve exorbitantly priced midi's (thimble) after 5. Then took 5 minutes to pour the beer whilst continue to pack up putting food in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a heritage listed hotel, originally built for the workers and visitors to the nearby Mundaring Weir back in 1898. Less than 1 hour from the heart of Perth, the Hotel provides the perfect venue for a social outing. Dine in the downstairs coffee shop (weekends), the historic Duke and Duchess dining room, or in the Tree-Tops restaurant overlooking the amphitheater where regular summer concerts boast music from jazz to popular rock bands. The grounds provide the perfect chilled atmosphere, and there is something to do for kids of all ages. Explore history, and browse the artifacts collected over the 30 years that the Hotel has been in the hands of the current owner, Jens Jorgensen. The Hotel offers many opportunities to experience the regions natural beauty. We are at the center of many trails meandering through the state forest and around the Weir. Two new walk trails established by the National Trust give a wonderful interpretation of the Weir and its surroundings as you walk. The 963.1 kilometer Bibbulmun track goes past the Hotel, with the terminus 15 kilometers away in Kalamunda. Mundaring Weir Hotel celebrates Sundays with a traditional lamb spit roast, wood fired pizzas and a seasonal counter meal menu. Live music is also a regular Sunday offering, with one of our three resident bands. The bush band or pop-folk music is popular with young and old alike. The Hotel features 10 motel-style rooms that are tucked away amid the gardens, overlooking either the forest or the grounds. All feature reverse cycle air conditioning, TV/DVD, microwave and small fridge. Choose from twin or double rooms, and some have bunk beds allowing up to four people per room. Every room has an open fireplace with supplied firewood (in season) to make for a wonderfully romantic getaway. ... more   less
