After visiting the weir and reservoir we called in for a drink. The beer was cold and refreshing and the courtyard we sat in was very pleasant and shady - very hot day! The best thing about this pub is it's history - so interesting. On the walls are old photos and certificates from the buying of the land in...

We had gone for a drive to York on the way back we found ourselves looking at the weir then called in to hotel. This was a very hot day. I did like that fact that they had a water system for patrons, ie water spray jets on fans. This is a very popular place hidden in the hills of...

We visited the cafe on 27 Dec and it was understaffed creating extremely slow service. The owners could have increased sales by staffing properly. The food was decent if overpriced but slow service spoiled the experience.

After deliberating for a long time on where to have Christmas lunch, the Mundaring Hotel hits all the marks. We weren't rushed out after our lunch, the servings were sized well, customer service was of a good quality and the atmosphere was exceptional.

Rude front office staff. Unprofessional - couldn't even send me a confirmation of my booking & now my cancellation confirmation. She quoted "why do u want a confirmation" um because I provided you my credit card details. Still waiting, I've rang 4 times & still no contact from them. I think they need to review their hotel policies. A two...

First visit for 6 years - but much expanded an offers many country attractions - music, lamb spits (at 3pm - an odd time). At a busy Sunday lunch we did not have a long wait and the food was very good. Its a special location; friendly people and they do a great job

Had a lovely pint and cheese board on a rainy Saturday afternoon around a log fire. Not busy so very peaceful. Good selection of beers on tap and reasonably priced food. The friendly kangaroos outside were a welcome surprise.

A very popular place hidden in the hills of Perth. It feels like you are miles from civilisation, but it's so tranquil and busy. It proves how popular this hotel is and it has great facilities. On a Sunday there is a band playing from 2pm till 5pm, log fires in all areas and spacious eating areas indoors and outdoors....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a heritage listed hotel, originally built for the workers and visitors to the nearby Mundaring Weir back in 1898. Less than 1 hour from the heart of Perth, the Hotel provides the perfect venue for a social outing. Dine in the downstairs coffee shop (weekends), the historic Duke and Duchess dining room, or in the Tree-Tops restaurant overlooking the amphitheater where regular summer concerts boast music from jazz to popular rock bands. The grounds provide the perfect chilled atmosphere, and there is something to do for kids of all ages. Explore history, and browse the artifacts collected over the 30 years that the Hotel has been in the hands of the current owner, Jens Jorgensen. The Hotel offers many opportunities to experience the regions natural beauty. We are at the center of many trails meandering through the state forest and around the Weir. Two new walk trails established by the National Trust give a wonderful interpretation of the Weir and its surroundings as you walk. The 963.1 kilometer Bibbulmun track goes past the Hotel, with the terminus 15 kilometers away in Kalamunda. Mundaring Weir Hotel celebrates Sundays with a traditional lamb spit roast, wood fired pizzas and a seasonal counter meal menu. Live music is also a regular Sunday offering, with one of our three resident bands. The bush band or pop-folk music is popular with young and old alike. The Hotel features 10 motel-style rooms that are tucked away amid the gardens, overlooking either the forest or the grounds. All feature reverse cycle air conditioning, TV/DVD, microwave and small fridge. Choose from twin or double rooms, and some have bunk beds allowing up to four people per room. Every room has an open fireplace with supplied firewood (in season) to make for a wonderfully romantic getaway. ... more   less
