Globales Tamaimo Tropical is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, making it a hit with families and children for its array of entertainment options. Nestled in a location praised for its scenic views and accessibility to attractions, the hotel offers spacious and clean rooms, despite some noise and maintenance issues raised by guests.
The amenity offerings, including several pools and activities, are generally well-received, though opinions on food quality and sunbeds vary. While the noise level can be high in communal areas, many travelers regard the hotel as a good value for money, recognizing the friendly staff and overall cleanliness, despite occasional slow service and limited Sunday housekeeping.

Felt I needed to write this review to put some people at ease. We booked this after reading a lot of good reviews but some bad ones worried us. For a 3 star hotel we felt this was spot on. Very clean, good size pools, hotel staff friendly enough and found them helpful at reception with anything we needed. Everyday the team around the hotel ran activities and catered for all but didnt put anyone uneer pressure to join in at all. The main pool is very lively which is ideal for families with kids but there is also a quiet pool that we didnt use as the kids loved the atmosphere at the main pool. They do a song everyday on the bridge and dance to it my daughter loved this and couldn't wait for it each day. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed if left in shower unless you put the sign on your door requesting them to leave it. The food was good, breakfast the best with lots of options hot and cold and especially liked the omelettes that were done on the live cooking grill. We didn't use the restaurant much during the daytime as there is a snack bar by the pool. The options are fine for daytime food with burgers, chips, hot dogs, pizza etc and ice creams available too. The pool bar usually had a queue but you were served within 5 mins on average so not an issue for us. Choice of 5 cocktails on the all inclusive and decent measures. The evening meal was not quite so good the options were plenty but generally the same sorts of food but also to be expected for an all inclusive. I saw reviews saying food was cold or just warm, we never experienced this. Staff were working very hard to keep the food topped up and clean the tables. We made do for most of the week and went out a couple of nights to the restaurant round the corner called san francisco. Good meals for 40 euros for our family of 4. Area is quiet but still can have a walk around although very hilly. We got a taxi down to the beach for 5 euros each way and took about 5-10 mins. I would advise anyone who has booked this hotel not to worry about the negative reviews as we had a great holiday staying here and kids loved it.

We booked this very last minute and was glad I didn’t read the bad reviews prior to going. Great points: hotel is very clean always. Cleaners came every day except for one, the one bedroom rooms are very spacious with wardrobes in both the lounge and bedroom, air conditioning is free and good, TV limited channels so as expected, pools are big and entertainment team are on it all day long, snack bar open from 11-6 serving hot dogs burgers, sandwiches, chips, ice creams, cakes and fruit as is the drinks bar, always a queue but never queued for more than 10 minutes. No lilos in the pool but doughnuts rings are allowed. Balls only in one section of the pool. Restaurant is also open for lunch and there is always something for everyone. Evening entertainment is not really for us but always had a big crowd. Dinner in the restaurant was good, not loads on offer but enough for us as a family of 4 and kids aged 14 and 7. Sun loungers are chained up overnight and people start to go down about 7am laying their towels on the floor where they plan to sit. Beds get unchained between 7-7.30. Not much outside of hotel in Santiago a couple of bars and restaurants. Short walk into los gigantes takes about 10 mins where there is a bit more but neither are huge resorts. Beaches are not really great but there is a natural sea pool about 5 minute walk and great to go and swim and watch the sunset. Bad points: I don’t really have any it was pretty decent not normally where we would normally pick but we have enjoyed it.

Me and my girlfriend booked a very last minute holiday a week prior to arrival and this is my honest review of “Globales Tamaimo Tropical.”
We flew out to Tenerife with TUI with no problems, other than passport control being an absolute nightmare with a waiting time up to 2 hours.
On arrival, we were waiting to check in for approximately 30 minutes as there was only 1 man on the reception desk. After a while of trying to find our room, we dumped our bags and went straight to the restaurant as we were hungry after a long day of travelling. The restaurant catered to me perfectly as I am a “picky eater”, however my girlfriend, who is not, definitely wasn’t happy with the lack of variety offered each evening.
In regard to the room, it was clean and tidy, spacious and looked like the pictures online so we couldn’t complain! However, as two female travellers, we felt very uncomfortable being on the ground floor so we went to reception to see whether we could move rooms to make our experience feel more safe. We were told that we were unable to move rooms as they were fully booked which we understood and moved past. The house keepers are super friendly and clean your room everyday without fail, with fresh replacement towels. A large downfall for me is the fact that the room is not soundproof whatsoever so there is no sleeping before 00:00 and no sleeping in past 10:00 if you are a light sleeper, like myself, due to how loud the entertainment is.
The location of the hotel is roughly a 10-20 minute walk from surrounding bars, shops and restaurants. Playa De Santiago is definitely on the quieter side and lacks the social element.
On day 3, we were starting to feel bored with the lack of entertainment and repetitive feel so we decided to book a TUI excursion. We spoke to a rep called Izabella who was super helpful and enthusiastic! Constantly smiling and wanting to help find us something we were going to enjoy. We booked the “Teide Quad Bike Sunset Tour” which was definitely the best experience we’ve ever had!
In conclusion, considering this was a last minute holiday at an incredibly discounted rate, our overall experience was satisfactory and we have come away from our trip with great memories!

This is the review of two families and yes there were some good points however because of the below we would not return to the hotel.
The location of the hotel was in a lovely small, quiet village you need to be fit to walk around the area as it is predominantly steep hills or a huge flight of steps to climb. Buses and Taxis are available to get to more lively areas and are quite reasonable, however the roads are often narrow in the villages.
The hotel is dated in some areas, we had two rooms both of which had aircon which was old and useless, we raised this with the hotel who sent a worker up to the rooms, he stood and put his hand up to the vent and said this is it and left! The bathrooms had either 3 minutes of hot water or cold water for showers, the one toilet leaked, there were no hooks for clothes and limited space for toiletries. One of the bathrooms/main room had a distinctive drains/damp/musty smell and made us feel sick, although we complained to the hotel three times nothing was done. The all inclusive food; breakfast was very good, lunch/snack bar was fair and that's being kind, dinner wasn't great - chicken undercooked, watery food, vegetables appeared to be reheated from lunch, no labels explaining what food was, long queues for food and not enough seating so the doors were closed and people had to queue in the corridor. We ate out a lot adding cost to the holiday. The drinks were free and plentiful and the spirits were generously poured however the queues could be long and there was often just one person serving.
The pools were fine to look at, one was noisy with lots of activity (which we knew about) and one was quiet and great for the kids to be able to swim and have fun however the sunbed situation is the worst I have seen, people sat on the floor at 7am (loungers not unlocked until 7.30) keeping 'their spot'. The loungers were stained and dirty, we always took a towel to put on them. The lifeguard did remove towels if people had not appeared for a couple of hours to use them.
The entertainment was mainly just for kids, it would have been good to have had some adult entertainment. We only saw a couple of cockroaches in the dining room, never any in our rooms. The cleaners take no notice of the sign on the door advising no need for room cleaning and in the afternoon will enter the room and ask if we want cleaning! The hotel was visibly clean however the standard of bedding and towels was poor, sheets worn and towels were very hard and worn.
We did a number of excursions and they were good value for money, we also visited other towns which were a lot more lively.

Having read some of the bad reviews people have left about this hotel, I have to chime in and say that our experience was completely the opposite. I booked 7 nights all inclusive for my 17-year-old daughter and I with Tui and got a great price. We were just looking for a cheap break to enjoy some pre-winter sunshine and had no real expectations.
We arrived at the hotel late, around 10.15pm, and were checked in quickly and given our all inclusive wristbands. Unlike some other reviewers, we naturally assumed it would be too late to eat, so asked reception who pointed us to a late night kebab/pizzeria that was still open. We had delicious doner wraps and I enjoyed a cold bottle of beer. It was really cheap! No problem!
Our room was on the 3rd floor and had a balcony overlooking the quiet pool. It was spotlessly clean and very spacious. My daughter used the living room as her bedroom and I took the double bedroom which overlooked a road but was very quiet still. The bathroom was spacious, with a walk in shower and the water pressure was excellent. The room was cleaned every day except Sunday when there is no cleaning.
Breakfast was varied and good quality. Pastries, freshly fried eggs, omelettes to order, breads, toast, fruit, cereals and good black coffee. Lunch and dinner was good and varied as well. During the week I had steak, chicken, hake, spaghetti bolognese, chilli con carne, freshly-cooked cheeseburgers to name just a few.
The local rosé wine on tap was nice with dinner and the beer at the pool bar on all inclusive was San Miguel. We never had to queue more than 5 minutes to get served and the staff were always friendly. The cocktails were ready-mixed out of a bottle but still tasted nice. I don’t know what some people expect on a budget break!
The animation team were always bringing the holiday energy but not pushy for people to get involved and they helped create a fun atmosphere around the main pool. On the subject of which, both pools were lovely and clean.
Despite being all inclusive, we had a day trip out catching the 473 local bus to Los Cristianos and walked the promenade through Playa de Las Americas up to Costa Adeje where we spent the afternoon on its pleasant beach before heading back home on the bus. We also had a nice early evening swim at the pretty local beach and a day out in Playa La Arena on its lovely black sand beach. We stayed for drinks and dinner before walking back to the hotel as it’s only a 10-15 minute walk. Puerto de Santiago is lovely. Quiet and low-key but with enough friendly bars if you want to head out of the hotel for a change of scenery.
Finally I’d like to express my thanks to all the staff at the Tanaimo Tropical. Reception was always friendly and helpful and the effort the team put in to turn around the pool areas and restaurant was really impressive.
Thank you Tanaimo Tropical we had a fabulous week!

Globales Suneo Tamaimo Tropical Beautiful place, wonderful views all around. The hotel is very nicely kept, the rooms are not too big, usually there are boilers in the bathrooms, you have to bring your own towels for the sun loungers by the pool, and you don't have to use the sun loungers. A strange practice is to fold the sun loungers on top of each other in the evening, and in the morning you can use this pyramid yourself. you have to take it off. For older people it's a challenge. Double beds for two people, 140 cm, you can't sleep well, you can pay extra for a room with two bedrooms, then it's cool for 20 euros a day. The food is great, a wide variety of meats, grilled and fried fish every who likes tapas, full fruit, bananas, kiwi, plums, apples, pears, pineapples, papaya, avocado, grapes, watermelon. Alcohols, wines, beers are very good, no regrets, fast service by two bartenders. Always in the canteen despite the full number of guests. the tables are clean, the food is always delivered hot, the bread is fresh and crispy. You can try Italian cuisine, pizza, pasta. Lots of cakes, desserts and ice cream for everyone. The rooms are cleaned very carefully and the towels are changed every two days. During the day, a group of animators with the boss Mirian, they try to entertain the company, they are not pushy, always smiling, they organize competitions, water aerobics, games with a ball, they do it very well. In the evening there are animations for children and adults - bingo, caraoce and shows by invited artists. You can have a great rest and relaxation, the hotel is worth recommending.

There were a number of issues with our holiday, we still made the most of it but I definitely think there were some misleading elements…
We landed in at 8pm… our transfer time, due to alot of waiting around took 2 hours, we didn’t get to our hotel until 10pm, meaning we missed our evening meal, there was little help other than to be told to go out to eat, an extra expense we didn’t expect.
Our holiday was a discounted holiday that tui had on offer, what they don’t tell you is that these discounted offers will mean you have what I would call ‘left over rooms’, not only were they filthy but crawling with cockroaches… and a constant smell from the bathroom that spread throughout the room.
We booked as a family of 5, which meant we had 2 rooms… you’d think they would ensure families to be close together but we were separated across the hotel, one of the rooms was a box room, on the 5th floor with a small window, and the smell of the bathroom was the worst out of the two, unbelievable, we complained and asked to be moved but no one helped us, all they would say is that no other rooms were available.
This was meant to be a little half term trip for our children, so we decided to make the most of what we could, and to spent as little time in our rooms as possible.
For me the heigene of this place wasn’t there, the dirtiest hotel I’ve seen in a long time. One of the children ended up sick, which I have a feeling was from the snack bar, food left out in the sun/ heat uncovered.
It was also meant to a working holiday for my husband… the hotel advertises free WiFi throughout, but when my husband questioned why he couldn’t access the WiFi anywhere but reception, they told him it’s because the routers aren’t turned on everywhere.
The all inclusive drinks, felt a bit of a scam, there was 1 bar person on, massive ques, taking 20 mins to get through to only be allowed 2 drinks. The food was basic.. but we hardly ate here, feeling like the all inclusive cost was a waste.
The entertainment around the pool was probably the best part of the trip. Lots of energy which the kids loved!
Not worth the money spent, and be warned tui will do absolutely nothing to help.
Although I have read some positive reviews, there are many like mine too. Perhaps the hotel should update these smaller rooms that end up on offer to avoid negative reviews and to work on cleanliness.
The area in which we stayed was lovely though, with some great local bars, and an amazing place to eat was at sorriso, we went twice… and the sunset view there was phenomenal.

We were worried reading some of the reviews but I honestly cannot fault anything. It was extremely clean in all areas, the staff are constantly on top of every area of the hotel to keep standards up and all very friendly. The food was our main concern from the reviews but I cannot fault this either, loads of choice and really tasty options. Always hot. Food areas were kept spotless and foods replenished when running low. The 'grill' area was open for every meal making delicious omelettes in a morning, various meat and fish options other meals. The pools, animation team and entertainment all great. Inflatables are allowed in the pool but we were told the Tenerife policy is that they have to have a hole in the middle as lilos etc are a drowning risk. We used a doughnut and tyre inflatable in the small pool all week so definitely allowed. Also ball games are allowed in a particular section of the big pool. There were small queues for round the main food selection areas in the restaurant and bar areas at times but nothing major and certainly not anything I would moan about. To be expected in such a large hotel at peak times. Snack bar was also great, open throughout the day. Puerto de Santiago is a stunning area. The two nearby bigger beaches (which are lifeguarded) Arena and Los Gigantes were not too far to walk if you are active (15-20mins) or cheap in a taxi (5euros) but Playa Chica which is only 5 minutes away and was fab for snorkelling and jumping in off the ladders/rocks at higher tide (no life guard on this beach though). Gorgeous bar there with a cute little Fishermans chapel next to it. Both Arena and Chica are brilliant for snorkelling, loads of different fish to see. It is very hilly but as I say taxis are cheap enough, and there are bars, restaurants and shops surrounding the actual hotel which are on the same level. A fantastic holiday all round 🥰

This hotel is a very big building, many people around and you can never reach some parts during your stay if you are not curious. ADVANTAGES: Good place to go to rech quickly many things by rented car. Not so far from TFS airport. Two large pools, one with separate part without balls and inflated tools, small part for children, gradient depth, the pools are clean. Food very OK, large choice, I cannot understand people writing that this is boring. Beer, wines, sangria, pepsi from a dispenser. Very good air conditioning inside rooms (10 min is enough to get cold). Many drinks in pool bar (but often large queues). Not so many american cockroaches (there is no hotel without them, really, read about them and please treat them like night butterflies or do not go to Canary Islands at all). DISADVANTAGES: Noise, noise, noise. The walls are very thick and you cannot hear any voice of your neighbor, but you can hear everything outside. Music, activities, screaming kids (sometimes at 6 a.m.), moving pool beds at the morning, cleaning stuff around the pool evenings, sometines singing of drunk guests etc. During lunch or dinner - noise level like inside school during a long break - you cannot talk. If silence is critical, really do not go there or wear ear noise blockers. WiFi is everywhere only in theory. My room had two parts inside and I had barely enough signal level in one part and no signal at all in another. During sport events all transfer was stuck probably due to large crowd watching transmission, so I had to use phone hotspot and control EU roaming.

We stayed for a week in November. We'd booked self catering as it was just me & my partner. The hotel is huge & it's easy to get lost around there. We stayed in an apartment on the 4th floor which was spacious, clean & tidy. The cleaners came every day whilst we were there, I'm unsure if the beds were changed or not during our stay. I couldn't tell. Air conditioning was great, wi-fi excellent. Davide the night-time entertainer was hilarious, he's got so much energy & his dancing had us in stitches. When it was his nights off it wasn't as good, it's Davide that makes the entertainment great. He needs a pay rise! We could see the stage from our room so we could sit on our balcony with a drink & watch. The TUI song is still stuck in my head 2 days after we've arrived home. We used the quiet pool as we had a child free week but there is another pool that has daytime entertainment on if you go with kids. As it wasn't school holidays we never had an issue getting a sunbed. Granted people did put towels on beds from 7.30am but we didn't bother & still got a sunbed even if it was after 12 when we went down. I can see it being a different story during school holidays though. We're considering returning next year & bringing our 10 year old as we think she'd love it! I wouldn't go all inclusive, we heard very mixed reviews whilst there from other guests about the food so personally for me self catering is the way to go. All in all we had a wonderful, peaceful holiday
